Apartment Life! #5

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that happen in and around my apartment complex here in a weekly blog post.

This week I'm going to share what I'e been dealing with for a few weeks.

Kids! Or as I like to call them...snot gremlins.

2 different apartments moved in 3 months ago and they have 2 small kids each. Well this is what the kids do. They stand directly in front of my door and tease/bark/scream and my dog. They also like to bang on my door and run away. Most people around here don't leave their doors open during the day because the kids are so loud and if you don't have a metal screen door like mine, the kids just walk into your apartment. I've seen them do it to the poor old guy next door. I've talked to the parents, talked to the manager and told the kids to stay away. Nothing is working and the parents don't care.

There were two kids at my door in this picture but you can only see the green toy the 1 year old girl was standing in front of in this picture. They started to run away when they saw that I was starting to take a picture of them. I don't even care about the noise they make at this point. I just wish their parents would supervise them when they are outside or the manager would do something to make them watch their kids. If I was the manager and so many people were complaining all the time I'd evict them. We're hoping they get tired of people constantly complaining and they just move.

So that's all for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Come back next week for more.

  1. I'm curious about what the parents did when you talked to them? Like did they deny it or act like they'd do something? And a 1 year old is walking around without supervision??? Maybe call social services! That's crazy.

    1. She had her door open and was sitting on her couch. I told her what her kids were doing and she said, "Oh sorry I didn't know." She yelled for her kids to come down there and told them not to be by my door then she went back to texting. The kids kept doing it and Ken talked to her a couple of days later and she did the same thing. She just doesn't care.

  2. It's impressive that the parents don't deal with the kids to make them stop

    1. Most times the kids are outside and the parents are inside with the doors shut. They just don't care.

  3. I'm not surprised. I know I did a few annoying things as a child, but nothing like this. I hope it gets better.

  4. I'm with Bijoux. I'd call child services on those parents. Some people shouldn't procreate and they sound like they fit the bill.

    1. Not sure what would scare them.

    2. Properly used halloween props, doesn't take much to scare children that age

  7. I can't understand how people can let their kids run around like that unsupervised. Not only are they being a menace to other tenants, but something could happen to them.

    1. I just know these kids are going to end up missing. The 1 yr old has already been found out in the alley behind the building twice and brought back to her mother.

  8. I remember this kind of thing from my apartment days. I live in a large subdivision and I get almost the same thing here. I wish people would watch their kids.

  9. Oh god I hope they stop soon that would grate on the nerves. I had one kid bang on our door a few times so I just yelled MAKE YOUR KID STOP into their open door and it stopped. Guessing that won't work for you though :(
