Favorite Picture of the Week

I've said before that living in the desert is strange from where I grew up in California because there aren't as many tree's, grass or foliage as there was in California when I was little. But we do have an interesting landscape for sure. These 3 pictures were taken out at Red Rock Las Vegas. And as you can see some of those rocks and mountains out there are red.

It's a desert landscape so if you visit there you aren't going to see a lot of big tree's like you'd see in the mountains but there are some small bushes and cactus.

Because it gets so hot here in the summer 117F I never liked going hiking in the summer but it's nice to pick a trail in the fall or Winter months and take a hike.

  1. Unfortunately, it really was 117 degrees last time I was there. It would be nice to visit during the winter months.

  11. Such wonderful red colors. I've got pictures from Utah like that. And yes, I am not a heat person so I would be a winter trail walker if I lived down that way.

    Thanks for sharing these!

  12. So gorgeous. I'm with Sophia and have some pics of Utah that are similar. I do like my trees, though. lol Amazing how different landscape is from one side of the country to the other.

  14. It's pretty! Although in a very different way from other landscapes. I never lived in a place like that, so it's hard to imagine having no trees around.
