Apartment Life #14

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.

So these pictures were taken back in 2013 and back then I didn't have the better camera that I have now so the pictures didn't come out as clear as I would have liked but you can still see what I'm talking about.

The police were at the end of my street talking to about 15 people in the apartment complex across from mine.

There was a lady outside walking her dog when I was snapping pictures of the cop cars and she almost got me arrested *maybe*. She started loudly saying that, "As soon as cops get a badge they think they can do what the F*ck ever they want. They should go find an all night donut shop and I have an authority problem." Yeah no kidding, I couldn't tell at all.

I said have a good night and got the hell away from this psycho before the cops came over to shut her up and maybe thought I was with her.

But in the end, no one was arrested and after they were done with all the people the police stood around talking to each other for about 30 minutes. As you'll see over the next few weeks, the police are in my neighborhood all the time. People always seem to have disagreements with their neighbors in apartment complexes. Maybe because we're all so close to one another and it gets on each others nerves when the neighbors are loud, annoying or disrespectful. We've lived in this apartment for 20 years and we've never had the police called on us.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. Lol, yes, stay away from people disrespecting the cops, as they are trigger happy these days!

There's a house in our neighborhood where I've seen cop cars at least 5 times in the last few years. They have teen boys, so I don't know if they are the problem or if it's a domestic violence thing going on. I've even wondered if the homeowner is a cop and his friends are coming over to eat donuts. 😂

    1. LOL They are a bit trigger happy. I'm just glad I've never seen then shoot anyone around here.

  2. It always amazes me how some people go out of their way to invite trouble like your dog-walker.

I agree about the added stress of living close to other people in an apartment. I lived next door to a couple for two of my four years in my apartment and they drove me nuts (the big one was when the wife backed into my car, took off, and denied it until our landlord showed her the surveillance footage when I had to file a police report) and the police were out three times for them with domestic disturbance stuff (not by my call).

LOL, yeah, I'll bet you've seen a lot of the police in your time there.

    1. Some people just don't know when to keep their mouths shut. That's good the manager had the surveillance.

  3. Yep, avoid such psychos indeed.

I've only seen them called once for any of the apartment buildings I've been in and that was only for loud music of some douche across the hall.

  4. They usually can't do much to her unless they count it as "disturbing the peace" which is a charge that will most likely be dropped

    1. Oh I know. But they can also do "Hindering an investigation" and the last thing I want is to spend a few hours in jail. lol

  5. The neighbors two houses down and right next door have had to call the cops because of family issues. I know once the smoke clears I'll find out what it's all about.

  8. We don't see cops all that often around here. I wouldn't want to get to close to anyone being loud about the police like the dog walker was doing.

  11. Glad no one has ever called cops on you. A shame that others can't try to get along a little better.

  12. You make me so happy to be in the neighborhood I am at when I read your stories. I've only seen cops out here once and that was for the rental two houses down having a little fight. I never even heard it, so I think someone in the house was the one to actually call the cops. I did call them twice myself and that was because both times I had strange men come park and just sit in my driveway. Not on the street, but full up in my driveway, which was weird!

  13. I can’t imagine what you go through living in that apartment. I will take the quiet suburbs any day. Crazy people out there.

    1. It's crazy but I've only had one problem personally with someone and that was the guy who I testified against for hitting his pregnant girlfriend.
