My Review

Jace is working as a bartender when he first notices Cassie coming in with her fiance. Jace knows that Cassie is his mate and waits patiently until Cassie and her fiance break things off. Cassie already had the hots for the cute bartender so when he offers to bring her home and help her forget about her ex, she agrees. The next morning is a bit awkward but to make matters worst, her best friend calls her for help and she rushes off to find her but Jace comes along with her because he knows there's more going on than Cassie realizes. Things really amp up at this point and Cassie and Jace find themselves in a lot of danger.

Poor Cassie finds out that shifters exist and that she just spent the night with one of them but she takes everything that's thrown at her really well. Jace on the other hand has a lot thrown at him as well and does his best to keep her safe, keep his emotions in check and not scare her away with the possessiveness he feels, it's not easy with everything that happens to them and there's a lot. The action was great, the storyline is wonderful and really kept me entertained, wanting to know what would happen next.

In this story most of the shifters are the good guys while the vampires are the bad guys and then there are hunters who want to kill shifters. This makes for a really dangerous world for Cassie to be thrust into but she takes it pretty well.

This is the first book in the series so we get a lot of info to set up this world which was fine with me. I thought this was a good book to start a series and I'm sure I'll be reading more of this series in the future.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

  2. The info can sometimes bog down, but good when it doesn't too much.

  7. We don't have good looking bartenders here, so I'll have to read this and fantasize that I live where they do have them.
