Apartment Life #110
This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.
A couple of weeks ago I told you guys about the woman and her adult son being evicted from these apartments right across from me. Well, she moved on to her section 8 apartment but not before she saw this last week being done. Last week she knocked on my door and was fuming because she said she had been complaining about her air conditioner not working right for over a year and the manager wouldn't do anything about it because he said it worked, just not as well as she wanted. So when she saw that a new central air conditioner was being installed for the apartment she just got kicked out of she was so mad. They waited until she was evicted and then they put in a new air conditioner.
I don't blame her for being mad, I would have been mad too but I really think she needs to move on from this. She needs to stop gambling her money away and get her shit together. She's almost 70 years old and her son is a meth addict so I think she'll have more problems since he moved in with her.
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

I don't blame her for being mad either, but an airconditioner doesn't address the things in her life that need changing. I hope life comes good for her, but wonder...
ReplyDeleteI hope it's better for her too.
DeleteYeah, I don't blame her for being mad. Douchebag thing for them to do, but she sounds like she has way more issues than that.
ReplyDeleteOh she definitely has more issues.
DeleteIt does kind of make me chuckle though.
ReplyDeleteSad that some people stay messed up their whole lives.
I felt bad for her when she saw this but I think they really wanted her and her son out.
DeleteWith all the trouble she caused I'm not surprised that the management were giving her nothing!
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing. They just wanted her out.
DeleteThat was nice of her to knock on your door to complain to you . . . LOL!
ReplyDeleteI've known her for years and she used to do that all the time.
DeletePeople get so close to being evicted in my building. Now we dont have a ten day grace fee for rent,so I can imagine what may happen.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, that happens here too.
DeleteMaybe if she were nicer and not all messed up things would work out better for her.
ReplyDeleteHer addict son caused a lot of problems for her.
DeleteI can see why she's mad but you're right, if she and her son don't shape up, the rest of her life will be filled with heart-ache.

Exactly.
DeleteThat does suck. I would be mad if I called my landlord with issues and they brushed it off, only to have them fix those same issues after I left.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see why she was mad.
DeleteThat does sound like the least of her issues
ReplyDeleteOh yes, exactly.
DeleteI don't blame her for being mad but she ought to consider moving on from her son. He's a big boy and should be able to take care of himself. If he can't well that's too bad and living with mom shouldn't be a fallback option.
ReplyDeleteWe told her the same thing but she wouldn't hear it.
DeleteThat's good timing
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteI don't blame her for being upset but she's got bigger problems with that drug addict son of hers.
ReplyDeleteOh she really does.
DeleteSound like a mess up family.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteI can't blame her for being pissed. I would be too.
ReplyDeleteYeah it was shitty of them not to fix it while she was there.
DeleteLike everyone else here, I don't blame her for being upset. Her air conditioner should have been repaired or replaced, but it sounds like she's in a better place and can start over. Hope things work out for her and her son. Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteI'd be made too. They should have repaired it for her. If her son lives with her and has a meth addiction, she won't last long in Section 8 housing.
ReplyDeleteI hope they have luck where they go to next.
DeleteOh, wow---yeah, I can definitely see how that would be infuriating!! I'll bet you're right, though---they were probably just hoping they'd drive her crazy enough to make her leave.

Well now she's moved on.
DeleteThis must have been so infuriating for her to see … but then I think she also has other things to worry about and sort!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
