Happy Raturday!
Some of my newer followers have asked me if I have rats because of the Happy Raturday posts. So I thought I would answer you. I don't have rats right now but I have in the past. I have a dog right now and when I had rats I would let them out to crawl all over the place and can't do that with Falcor around. So maybe sometime in the future I'll have rats again. I thought I would share some of the pictures of the rats I have had. This was Patches.
This was Oreo and Dusty
This was Ares, Brodie, Jasper and Hades.
Fang. I named him Fang because he bit Ken several times. He never bit me and he and Ken did make friends after a while. It just took a little while for Fang to get comfortable with him. He would also sleep like this hanging over the hammock. Patches is sitting right next to him but you can only see his back.
This was my very first rat, Romi. A neighbor had her and worked all day so gave her to me and Ken so she would have someone to play with during the day.
Lucky. He was in a pet store and because he only had 3 legs, they were going to kill him. One of the workers there called my daughter to see if I would want him and I said yes. He was a real sweetie.
Flower. She was my only hairless rat. she loved to dive bomb our shirts and cuddle in there.
Marbles. He was my grumpy guy. You can just tell by the expression on his face. He didn't like to be held but he would come sit on the couch next to me as long as I gave him a snack.
Scribbles. I would leave my coffee cup on the table next to his cage in the morning while cleaning his cage, playing with him in the morning and filling his food bowl. He would run out and sit on my cup to get a drink of coffee or tea. lol
So now you know. This is just a few of the rats I had. I also had hamsters, gerbils and fish.

Wow, that was a lot of rats. Glad Fang and Ken eventually got along.
ReplyDeleteThat's not even all of them. I have had a lot of rats and hamsters. Ken kept sharing his food with him until they became friends. lol
DeleteJasper is a lovely name for anyone even for a rat LOL I've just bought me a swan shaped tea infuser and named him Archibald Earl of Gray LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's a great name! I love Jasper as a name.
DeleteI can see why you named that rat Oreo LOL.
ReplyDeleteFang's pic is so funny! Maybe he was jealous of poor Ken at first? With a rat, who can tell? I guess they're even more difficult to read than cats 😂.
"Lucky. He was in a pet store and because he only had 3 legs, they were going to kill him."
What on earth? Anyhow, you're a total animal rescuer! First him, then Falcor.
Oreo was so funny. He did love cookies too.
DeleteThe pet store said he was defective. So ridiculous. he was just the sweetest rat too.
I figured you must have had rats at one time and you sure had a lot of them! They are adorable :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I sure did. A whole lot of hamsters too.
DeleteWell that's completely understandable, Mary. 👍🏻 It'll happen in the future, I'm sure! 😉
ReplyDeleteI'm sure too.
DeleteLucky sure was! I like Scribbles and Oreo. Fang is just funny in that position. Thanks for introducing them all!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I figured some of my readers had no idea.
DeleteHappy Raturday
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI don't have any pets but I did in the past. Never had a rat though. Those are cute though. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would have a rat but Romi proved to be so sweet I just kept getting more.
DeleteYou've had a lot of rats over the years! Such adorable ones too!
ReplyDeleteThanks. They are great pets.
DeleteThey sure were lucky to have you loving on them!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThanks for the explanation - and the gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome.
DeleteQuite a crew, I was only around for Lucky and Flower. Fun to see so many of them and their little personalities came out in the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThey have such big personalities.
DeleteHappy Raturday!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSo cute! I love those two pics of Fang and Scribbles. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Those two were little goofballs.
DeleteWhat a lovely bunch you had. A family full of love to share with them. I had a hamster growing up, he slept in an old bird cage. His name was Alvin. Eventually his home was upgraded to an empty aquarium with his exercise wheel. :)
ReplyDeleteI've had hamsters too. They are fun.
DeleteHow a good one!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI was born in year of rat.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Good year to be born.
DeleteThey are all adorable, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI hope you are able to have rats again in the near future.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteCan't believe they were going to kill Lucky just because he had 3 legs! Glad you were able to give him a home. These guys are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe it either.
DeleteOh you had many! They're cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteLots and lots of cuties! Hopefully one day when the time is right you can have some more rats in your life. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
I hope so too.
DeleteThat's quite a number of rats you've had. A shame that rats and Falcor can't co-exist. I had hamsters and mice as a kid but never rats.
ReplyDeleteI have Flower and Scribbles when we got Falcor and he wanted to get in their cage so bad.
DeleteI knew you had had rats but I didn't realize so many. They're all adorable and I loved hearing their stories.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Yeah I had a lot of them.
DeleteYou've had some real cuties over the years. I only had one when I was a teen. He was a white rat with red eyes that I won as a prize at school.
ReplyDeleteThey are great pets.
DeleteAdorable! I love rats. Quite a few of my friends have owned them, but I never got to that level. I've had hamsters, gerbils, and spiny-backed mice and loved them all. 😊
ReplyDeleteI've had hamsters, mice and gerbils too. I really like rodents.
DeleteWow, you had a lot of Rats over time... they are highly intelligent. The Grandchild recently had Hamsters, Two Teddy Bear Breed, they lasted the 2.4 Years they're supposed to. In the end, like most Pets, the Teen lost interest and they became 'my' Hamsters... which is why when the last Cat died in November {we've always had Cats} I decided no more Fur Babies. Getting too Old and don't want any to outlive me so that extended Family would have to figure out what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteI can totally understand that.
