Apartment Life #287
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
I know you can barely make out the police car there behind the van but it's there. The police were back over here with the homeless shelter van trying to convince the homeless people around here to go to the shelter.
A few people did actually get in the van but there are still quite a few homeless people around here that wouldn't go.
But in my pictures you can also see the street and where the street maintenance crews come by about a week ago and sealed the cracks in the street.
----
Now that I figured out how to download old videos from fb, here's another one.
Back in 2012 this guy lived in that apartment he's in front of. He kept his motorcycle inside his apartment instead of in the parking alley, and would start up his motorcycle in the courtyard every morning at 6am to go to work. And would ride it into the courtyard at night when he got home. He would ride right by 4 bedroom windows and didn't care he was making so much noise. How rude is that? Everyone hated this guy and were glad when he moved out.

Covid Update Day 24:
We are all still coughing but we are doing better. My back muscles hurt from all the coughing. My sense of smell is really muted. I can smell just not strongly. My daughter and grandson are still coughing a lot. Me and my daughter still get mild headaches but my grandson is feeling better. Really, if we could get rid of this cough we would be fine.
Thank you for all the well wishes, we appreciate it.
The high this week was 65F/18C
The low this week was 32F/0 C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

That motorcyclist went out of his way to make himself unpopular didn't he?
ReplyDeleteI am glad (very) that you are doing better.
Yeah he really did. He could have pushed it out to the street before starting it up.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteYessum, in my comment yesterday, I forgot to ask how you and your family members are feeling as you continue to recover from COVID symptoms. I'm sorry you have a lingering cough, but we both know the situation could have been worse. I hope you will all be back to 100% soon.
I take it the police will continue week by week throughout the winter to sweep through the neighborhood urging homeless to go with them to a shelter. Those who refuse to go might have a deep-seated fear and mistrust of cops, or the reason they decline might be that they prefer to keep doing their drugs, even if they must endure cold temps.
I'm glad you explained those wavy white lines in the street. For a minute, I thought they were chalk outlines of bodies drawn by detectives. :)
Yeah, that fugitive from Easy Rider could have wheeled his chopper out to the street and away from bedroom windows. He was probably trying to show off his macho wheels.
I wish you a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend Mary!
Yeah they come by all the time to see if the homeless want to go to the shelter. I thought the wavy lines would need some explaining.
DeleteHis motorcycle was obnoxious.
Sorry you are still coughing. It's hanging on way longer than it should - you should be over it in a week.
ReplyDeleteThat was a lot of cracks in your road.
I hope it's gone by next week.
DeleteUgh, I'm so sorry you guys are still sick. I hope it passes soon!!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteThat was really annoying, so glad that motorcycle guy moved out!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm glad to hear you guys are feeling a bit better now. Praying for your full recovery soon 🙏
xx
Vanessa @ Blushing Geek
We were all glad when he moved out too.
DeleteThat guy on the bike was quite the alarm clock. Could the cough hanging on be due to the cold weather?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure.
DeleteSorry to hear you are all still sick but glad everyone is starting to get better!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will be gone soon.
DeleteI’ve heard from friends that the cough can really hang on. It’s normal to still be coughing, even for six weeks with Covid. Hopefully, you round the corner soon.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping it is gone soon.
DeleteI understand why this guy wanted to keep his bike inside his apartment based on the other stories you've told. Maybe it allowed him to move somewhere safer. Glad you are getting over the virus.
ReplyDeleteTis was back when the neighborhood wasn't even that bad.
DeleteHe could have pushed it out to the street before turning it on though.
Glad the bike man finally moved, that must have been annoying to hear early in the morning, Good news that you are recovering from Covid.
ReplyDeleteIt was so annoying.
DeleteThose were all cracks? My, the pavement was really damaged then.
ReplyDeleteCoughing is the worst thing ever - let alone for 24 days 😧. I hope the darned virus is starting to get tired of you all!
Yeah, those are all cracks. They should have just repaved the street.
DeleteSo much goes on around you place. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI will.
DeleteI have missed your site! You live with some interesting people. Do you know the police by name at this point?
ReplyDeleteNo, funny enough I don't really have much to do with the police. They are dealing with all the other people around here.
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling better
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSo sorry you guys are all sick. Hope the cough goes away soon!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I hope so too. Thank you.
DeleteMotorcycle guy :(:
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys are doing okay (relatively) with Covid. Stay safe and hoe every day is better for you. Sounds like you have it like I did. Respiratory stuff but not TOO bad.
Yeah, he was something.
DeleteIt was a mild case but this cough is just hanging on.
Hope that Covid cough goes away this week! Wishing you all the best. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you I hope so too.
DeleteI wish more of those homeless people would feel up to taking advantage of some of the services. That motorcycle dude sure was rude. I hope you're totally better super soon.
ReplyDeleteI think it's because they can't do drugs or drink alcohol in the shelter.
DeleteSorry your having rough ride with covid. I just like this entire thing gone.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thank you, me too.
DeleteYour cough sounds horrible. Covid really seems to be everywhere right now. I hope that you are all feeling better very soon!
ReplyDeleteIt is getting better each day.
DeleteThat guy was pretty rude, but I can understand why he'd keep his bike in the apartment.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're recovering even though it's slow going. Hope you're 100% soon!
I can too but he could have pushed it out to the street to start it.
DeleteEach day is a little better.
Are the policemen hot there, I don't know if I asked before...
ReplyDeleteSome of them are. A few weeks ago there was this 6'5" blonde, muscle bound cop that I could have looked at all day.
DeleteBlonde?? OMG I'd become a criminal just so that he could arrest me.
Deletelmao
DeleteI am glad you are all feeling better and hope your coughs go away soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteGlad to hear that motor-Mike man moved out. Glad to hear that you are better. Bye the way, when we get a coigh, we consume linden tea for decreasing the cough.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
DeleteUgh motorcycle guy!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hope you are feeling somwehat bette
I am thank you.
DeleteI hope you all recover from covid asap.
ReplyDeleteThe guy with the noisy motorcycle was clearly a self-centred arsehole. Yes, you must have been relieved when he moved out.
We were so glad when he moved.
DeleteEverybody is getting the Omicron variant, it seems. Even people who are double vaccinated and others who have had the booster. I hope you are all well soon. 👏👏👏
ReplyDeleteI am feeling better.
