Book Review: Alpha's Temptation by Renee Rose and Lee Savino
Book Description
MINE TO PROTECT. MINE TO PUNISH. MINE.
I’m a lone wolf, and I like it that way. Banished from my birth pack after a bloodbath, I never wanted a mate.
Then I meet Kylie. My temptation. We’re trapped in an elevator together, and her panic almost makes her pass out in my arms. She’s strong, but broken. And she’s hiding something.
My wolf wants to claim her. But she’s human, and her delicate flesh won't survive a wolf's mark.
I'm too dangerous. I should stay away. But when I discover she's the hacker who nearly took down my company, I demand she submit to my punishment. And she will.
Kylie belongs to me.
Publisher’s Note: Alpha’s Temptation is a stand-alone book in the Bad Boy Alphas series. HEA guaranteed, no cheating.
My Review
Jackson is a wolf shifter but he doesn't have a pack, he's a loner and the CEO of his own company. Some years ago there was a hacker who hacked his system but didn't take anything, she was just showing off her skills to him to let him know she could hack him and then she disappeared. He's been trying to find her ever since then with no luck.
Kylie has been on the run ever since she witnessed something she shouldn't have seen and she and her grandma have been moving around even though the bad guy is in jail.
Kylie who is the one who hacked Jackson's company interviews for a job there but gets stuck in the elevator with a man not knowing it's Jackson. She's scared of small spaces so she freaks out a little while in there with him and he's able to calm her down until the lights and power come back on. After she gets the job, Jackson can't seem to get her out of his mind and makes reasons to go and see her. But he's a wolf shifter and even though his wolf is telling him that Kylie is his mate, he can't mate her because doing so would put a human in danger. He might even kill her during the mating process, so he tries to keep her at arms length until he just can't anymore.
When someone tries to blackmail Kylie she decides to go to Jackson and tell him the truth only to find out that the bad guys have kidnapped her grandmother. The action really ramped up at this point because not only does Kylie's grandmother have a huge secret of her own but there's a double-cross going on right under Jackson's nose.
I really liked Kylie and Jackson but there were a few problems with his personality that I didn't care for. He's messing around with a human who he knows could die if he bites her while he tries to mate her but that doesn't stop him from tempting his wolf too many times by being with her. There were too many close calls. Plus he's an alpha wolf and a dominant which wouldn't have been bad if his form of discipline hadn't got on my nerves at times and other times just came across as wrong. She was innocent, had no experience with men and he just came across too strong and wanted things from her that she seemed to inexperienced to be able to tell him she might not want to do. So while I really liked the story, I didn't like him at times.
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.

I don't think I would have liked him AT ALL. Three out of five might have been generous.
ReplyDeleteThey story itself was good and some of the other characters were great but his personality needed a change.
DeleteBut five stars for them pecs!
ReplyDeleteYes, the description of him did sound hot.
DeleteNice review
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe billionaire and the hacker does sound like a fun pairing. Too bad his personality didn't quite work.
ReplyDeleteit could have been so good.
DeleteSounds like the dude needs some work!
ReplyDeleteHe really did.
DeleteFrom your descrip, it sounds like I wouldn't like his character too much either. Glad the story was at least good.
ReplyDeleteAt least the story was a good one.
DeleteI'm not sure about the relationship between them either...
ReplyDeleteI just didn't like him all that much.
DeleteHe sounds like someone I wouldn't like very much either. I hate it when characters aren't likeable, so I'd probably pass on this book.
ReplyDeleteUnderstandable.
DeleteThe story sounds good, the hero not so much.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteIt is hard to fully enjoy a story when you don't like one of the characters all that well.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteHe sounds a bit alphahole
ReplyDeleteExactly.
