Maintenance Guy: "Your daughter. It's a joke between her and I."
Me: "Really? I hadn't heard about this. Is she aware of this joke because it's the first I'm hearing about it."
Maintenance Guy: o.O *Just stares at me.*

Hi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, dear friend!
You hinted that you'd have a lot to report in this edition of your Sunday series, and you were right. Just what you didn't need - another creepy old guy trying to get something started with your daughter! Yessum, it puts you in a bind, because he happens to be the maintenance man. It's hard enough getting him to respond when you put in a work order for repairs. If you tell him off for pursuing your daughter, he might never show up. Clearly, the guy doesn't have his mind on his work, because he did a shoddy job of repairing that pipe.
It is very alarming that shots were fired into a unit five doors down from you. If it was right next to the drug dealer's headquarters, it seems likely there's a connection. I think Morgan Brody and Nick Stokes should have a look around. I certainly hope investigators can get to the bottom of it and make an arrest. This is troubling.
Let's hope that 2023 is a quieter, more peaceful year for you and your family, including my good buddy Falcor. Happy new year, dear friend Mary!
Happy new year, Shady.
DeleteWe heard a lot of gunshots around here last night as well. Hopefully it will be a quieter year.
Creepy - both accounts. I'd let management know about the repair guy.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea.
DeleteI had a dream about a shooting last night. I think he had something to do with the fact that earlier in the day, I was talking about this guy who I went to school with had gotten shot or was in a concussion or something because he had to have a fixator on his head.
ReplyDeleteThat's a weird dream.
DeleteIt was hot here as well today, which is very unusual for January. Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too.
DeleteStay safe and have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWow Mary. I am glad no one was harmed by the bullets and that maintenance guy is a creeper.
ReplyDeleteMe too and yes he is.
DeleteWell, your New Year started off with a bang, both literally and figuratively. What do creepy old broke assed guys, like drug dealer and maintenance man, think there is anything about them a young girl would want. Delusional.
ReplyDeleteBoth creepers got shot down. lol
DeleteYeah and we had even more gunshots last night but no bullet holes.
Very scary. And unnerving that maintenance guy talking to your daughter like that.
ReplyDeleteShe let him know she wasn't interested so hopefully he will leave it alone now.
DeleteHappy New Year Mary!
ReplyDeleteWow, just wow! I'm creeped out on your daughter's behalf. What's with creepy old guys hitting on young girls? ugh and he's your maintenance, that makes it so much worse. I hope he got the message and backs down.
And the gunshots! That's so scary! It's probably a mis-target and they were intended for the drug dealer's apartment. but how scary! Y'all be careful (not that you aren't already)!
My daughter is 31 years old but she's still my baby and sometimes I feel like I need to do things on her behalf. But she let him know that she isn't interested.
DeleteWe heard more gunshots last night as well. No bullet holes thankfully though. We will definitely try to be careful.
That sure isn't a good way to start a new year but we all wish you a most Happy New Year! ~Brian, Simon, Seal, Kiki, Maxwell and Macy
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope you have a nice new year as well.
DeleteOh that sounds scary.
ReplyDeleteYeah it was.
DeleteThere's always something going on ... but quite scary. Stay safe and well.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
PS Happy New Year Wishes
I will try to.
DeleteActually I don't live far from gun range.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
There's one close by here too.
DeleteWow! There's a lot to unpack here! First of all what a creep (the maintenance guy)! Why do old guys always think that women, at any age, would be falling all over them? The guy needs to get a clue! As for the gunshots, thank goodness they didn't hurt you, your daughter or grandson! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI hope he has a clue now. I'm glad we're alright too.
DeleteThat maintenance man sounds like a creep. Better keep an eye on him!
ReplyDeleteI will be.
DeleteWow, that's really scary Mary! Hopefully the maintenance guy stays away from your daughter and no more bullet holes!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and your family. That was certainly an interesting start to 2023 - hope things get quieter from here on in.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so too. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteOh my goodness Mary - what a way to end 2022! Glad your daughter has her head on straight and hopefully that dude won't bug her again. I feel like this has happened before, hasn't it? And WOW! Gunshots so close. I can't believe that the cops showed up and then left. But I guess if they don't see anything going on... Anyhow, I'm glad you and your family are safe. Here's to a less adventurous, more calm 2023!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, this has happened a couple of times in the past few years. it's been a few years but three apartments in my courtyard were all shot up on another New Year's Eve. Thankfully no one was hurt that time either.
DeleteI'm still hoping someday you can get out of there. 😕
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday. Apartment prices are outrageous right now.
DeleteI hope the maintenance man doesn't make more of a menace of himself for yours and your daughter's sake. That's so creepy.
ReplyDeleteI guess it's good you noticed the bullet holes and called the police back. If you hadn't, I wonder if they would have bothered to investigate. I am glad it doesn't appear anyone was hurt. We get a lot of guns going off in our area this time of year. I always hope no one gets hurt. Even just shooting in the air is dangerous.
I hope you have a Happy New Year, Mary!
I don't want to say anything because he works here and I don't want there to be trouble for us.
DeleteShooting in the air is dangerous. Those bullets have to come down somewhere.
You could do without creepy maintenance guys pestering your daughter. You could also do without gunshots flying around. Never a dull moment and all that!
ReplyDeleteHopefully no more gunshots for a while.
DeleteWell that turned creepy
ReplyDeleteYeah it did.
DeleteBullet holes?? Dear Lord, Mary. Creepy old guys, too? You sure gave him a piece of your mind.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say Happy New Year. I know I'm late. Not been feeling great, is all. May 2023 be a better one than 2022. We gotta keep the faith, right?
Blue
Thank you, Blue. I hope you start feeling better. I hope 2023 is a good one for you.
