Snow on the Nevada Mountains

I liked the clouds so I took a picture of them.

The next day the mountains in the background had snow on them. I enlarged the picture so you could see the snow. I took these pictures last month. It's warming up now.

The mountains to the North also had snow on them.

My brother lives in Lovelock, Nevada (which is about 9 hours from me in Las Vegas) and he took this picture from his house last month when there was snow on the ground where he lives.

  1. Have you ever been to the mountains back in the healthier days?

    1. Oh yes. Ken and I used to take our daughter hiking up at Mt Charleston all the time when she was younger.

  2. I remember snow like that when I lived in Arizona. Made the mountains so beautiful.

  3. When I was a little girl, snow on mountaintops---that was perfection, I thought.

  4. Some of those mountains around Vegas are pretty tall. Isn't Mt. Charleston around 12,000 feet? I once had a tire repaired in Lovelock!

    1. We have mountains all the way around us so we can see the snow all over.

  8. When I have been out West, I have always been amazed by the distance you can see around you. I know it is beautiful. Clouds are my thing too.

  9. Snow and palms look so weird together (in a good way! I mean, one always associates palms with tropical islands...not with snow).

    1. I always thought it was weird that we have so many palm trees here in Vegas too.

  11. I prefer snow in the mountains and not on the road. Great pics, Mary!
