Apartment Life #314

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.

I heard cars racing down my street and wasn't able to get the police cars because they went by too fast but I snapped a picture of this ambulance as it raced past. I didn't even have time to open my window and had to take the picture through the window screen. It was at the end of the street, someone was arrested and someone went to the ER in the ambulance.

So last week I noticed a little construction going on in our alley. A few days later I noticed these. Looks like charging stations for electric cars. I've looked to see if any of the cars that are parking there are charging and none of them have been so far. lol I seriously doubt that anyone who lives here has an electric car. It was about 5am when I took this picture which is why it still looks dark out. Watch this place raise the rent because of the "upgrades" they made this year when it comes time to renew our leases.

The police showed up for a domestic dispute on Tuesday. One man was arrested. I was across the street and was able to get a picture of the police cars parked near the courtyard behind the office.

Then later that night the police and ambulance were back in that same courtyard of my complex and another guy was arrested for having a gun. A lady was taken away in the ambulance. I have no idea what happened to her.

You might remember that at the end of last week's Sunday post I told you that we heard 5 gunshots that sounded really close.

Well I think I figured out where those gunshots came from. This is a metal sign that is right next to my apartment building. As you can see there are 5 gunshots in it. One or two of the holes is on the bottom edge of the top sign.

This is the front of the sign and you can really see the bullet holes from this way but you sure can from the back. That walkway to the right is the sidewalk to my apartment building. It's just a couple of feet away. So when I said last week that it sounded close, I wasn't wrong.

The high this week was 88F/31C
The low this week was 54F/12C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  3. If someone in your complex has an electric car, it's because they are dealing some serious drugs and making a fortune.

  5. I'm sure you're right that the electric vehicle charging points will be called an upgrade when leases are up for renewal.

  6. I too am LMAO at the charging station. What a waste. The powers that be who came up with this grand idea better hope no one decides to switch from shooting signs to shooting charging stations.

  7. Yeah, I think electric car people probably aren't renting in your neighborhood. And scary that someone was shooting off a gun so close to where you live. Hope this week is a much quieter one!

  9. I bet you are right about them raising the rent because of the electric car charging stations. That will suck. I don't really understand why they would put those in given there isn't really a need.

Those gunshots wee really close! That is scary. I hope your neighborhood has a calmer week this week.

    1. I was thinking that maybe the charging stations are on a map that people can look up and if they use these this place gets some money? I'm not sure how it works.

  10. So weird about the charging stations! Who would possibly think that would be a good idea? Doesn't seem like anyone's benefiting, even corporations - can't be much money to be made in that location.
