Apartment Life #339
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.
Another rooftop AC was installed onto the roof of the apartment complex across the street. That's the second one this year. I'm pretty sure it's pretty expensive to have these things installed too.
I always watch just to make sure that something doesn't go wrong and those heavy AC's don't come crashing down on a car on the street.
It went well. They had the old AC out and the new one in really fast, less than 20 minutes.
---
A few days later the apartment building a couple of buildings down the street also had a rooftop AC replaced.
---
Of course we can't go one week without the police showing up. At first it was just this one police car.
The another showed up and they went into the apartments across the street.
They stayed about 30 minutes, came out, talked and left. No one was arrested so I guess that's good.
The high this week was 100F/37C
The low this week was 66F/18C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Your lowest temperature was our maximum on several days. We (for a change) had a police presence this week. A near neighbour had a psychotic episode. I haven't seen him since and hope he is getting the help he needs.
ReplyDelete2nd A/C in a year?? Either the hot sun is burning them out or they're installing cheap rebuilds.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I was thinking.
DeleteI should have explained better. There are 4 large AC's on top of each building. 1 AC supplies the AC for 2 apartments. So 2 different AC's were replaced on that building this year.
DeleteThose units have to be at least five figures.
ReplyDeleteYou're still hitting a hundred? Wow. We've been in the seventies - finally - but it's actually been a mild summer.
That's what I was thinking too. Yeah it's still been really warm here.
DeleteThe people who work that crane must be quite skilled!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be.
DeleteWe don't have central ACs here, just the individual ones, and no window ones either. It saves more energy if you choose to cool or heat just certain rooms not da whole palace.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely. I have one in the living room and a window AC in my bedroom.
DeleteGood on the AC
ReplyDeleteYeah.
DeleteAC is an absolute necessity where you live. Your low temperature this week will be our high temperature today, which we consider to be a lovely, warm autumn day.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely. I'm looking forward to lower temps soon.
DeleteGlad it was a fairly quiet week for you. :D
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteYea for a quiet week! I hope you had a good one.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThat's an amazing job to take out those AC. That has to be pretty spendy.
ReplyDeleteOh I bet it is.
DeleteA year or so ago, I saw a helicopter lower a huge unit to the rooftop of a shopping mall near me. It really is fascinating to watch. It took a lot more than 30 minutes, too. I didn't stay for the whole thing. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOh I bet that was neat. They are probably bigger than these too.
DeleteIt can get pretty hot in England in the summer but there are still very few buildings with air conditioning. Even the London tube lines still don't have air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteThere should be AC where it gets hot like that.
DeleteThat's impressive how quick they got that AC in. Yes, a good result if no one gets arrested. :)
ReplyDeleteThey got it done fast.
DeleteThis is the first time in awhile that I haven't jesus christed at one of your apartment life posts. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhen they built the sprawlmart down the road from me, they had helicopters bring in all the roof units. Noisy but efficient.
lol Well there's always next week. That's one way to do it.
DeleteSounds like a quiet week. :-)
ReplyDeleteQuieter than some for sure.
DeleteI sure wouldn't want to be standing under those AC units!
ReplyDeleteNope.
DeleteGoodness! Even you low temperatures are high!
ReplyDeleteTake care and here's to a quiet week ahead.
All the best Jan
Yeah, they are still high.
DeleteCan't have a broken a/c where you are. Expensive, but necessary.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteCrazy how they replace those A/C units! Looks like you're still having hot weather where you're at so it's a good thing they're replacing them.
ReplyDeleteWe're going down to the low 90's soon so it'll be cooler in a few weeks.
DeleteLooks an interesting thing to be doing, landing the A/C in the correct space. Does each apartment have one of those?
ReplyDeleteThe police, if no one was arrested did they leave sad news! I just wonder.
Each one of those big AC's serves two apartments. There's 8 apartments in each building.
DeleteThat is quite the operation! That is awfully hot.
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to get cooler. Upper 90's this coming week and then we go down from there.
