Apartment Life #369

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 26 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 26 years here in a weekly blog post.

I heard sirens pretty close on Monday morning so I pulled up the PulsePoint app and saw that something was happening at the end of my street. So I walked out there with Falcor to get some pictures. The police drove by while I was getting out there the police drove by really fast, too fast for me to pull my camera out and get a picture.

The fire truck was parked at the end of the street.

And as I was standing there, the first ambulance pulled up.

And then the fire department's ambulance also pulled up. There was a lot going on down there and they were there for over an hour. Something happened but I'm not sure what.

This made me laugh because when I Googled the words, I realized it was the name of a band. So, me being intrigued, I clicked on their Instagram and was surprised to see my neighbor!  It's the name of my neighbors band! And he must have spray painted their name on this power box that is right next door. That was really smart. Smh Good way to let everyone in the neighborhood know who spray painted on the power boxes. LOL Not very bright. Free promotion?
----

Someone spread a pile of shredded foam right in front of the manhole where the homeless people make their way down into the tunnels underground. Not sure what the purpose of this was.
---

"Screamer lady' screaming in my courtyard right after 8AM on Wednesday morning. I've talked about her before. She is not homeless but does drugs and has mental illness. She routinely walks up and down the sidewalk just screaming nonsense. She's been doing this for years.

On Tuesday the guy who was arrested twice last week was once again back. The jail/ ER didn't keep him more than a over night. I could only upload a short clip from my tablet since the videos I took with my phone won't upload to Blogger for some reason. This guy was in my courtyard and in front of my door for over an hour. His friends a few doors away told him to leave, then they shut their door and refused to open it again when he kept knocking. I didn't call the police because, why bother. They don't keep him more than a few hours and he's back again, even after throwing a chair through his friends window last week. He was back the next day for a while and then he's been gone since then.

The high this week was 90F/32C
The low this week was 62F/16C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. There is always something going on in your area. Sigh at the screamer. She would do my head in.

    1. Screamer lady has been around here as long as I've lived here. Poeple just ignore her.

  3. There are some sad, ill people in your area.

  4. Indeed, it's unusual for vandals to sign their work. Maybe that's the best advertising they can afford. At least the band is appropriately named.

  5. Fallen from Favor was not a failure to communicate in this instance. 😀

I wonder why your phone videos won’t upload. Are they too long? Blogger does have a time limit for videos. I have sometimes had to upload to YouTube and then embed from there.

    1. Oh uploading to youtube and embedding them is a good idea.

  6. Hope your door is sturdy! You certainly don't want his company in your home. This activity certainly out does any TV story.

    1. Oh it is. It's a metal security door with a good deadbolt lock on it.

  7. And here I hoped that, with the drug dealers gone, you could have some peace...

"Fallen from Failure"? It' doesn't make much sense, but at least it alliterates LOL.

    1. I had hoped that too but it seems once one is gone, another just takes their place.

  9. I wonder how much your neighbourhood costs the emergency services per a month LOL

    1. Hell, the ambulances alone are thousands of dollars a month. Last time I rode in one the bill my insurance paid was almost $2000 just for the ambulance.

  10. Not too many dull moments around the neighborhood.

  11. I mean, I get why someone would want to spend the morning screaming, but it does disrupt the neighborhood.

    1. I don't know why that came out twice. Maybe it's the beginnings of a song?

    1. I've Googled all kinds of things I've seen written around here. Found out one time that the Bloods gang was down the street tagging walls.

  16. Yeah, that's not too bright to spray paint the name of your band, but it doesn't like the police ever do much in your neighborhood anyhow, so maybe not? Never a dull moment where you live!

  17. What a wild week at your place. Yes, that band dude isn't the brightest bulb. I sure couldn't take much of the screamer.

  18. Interesting that Falcor was barking, snarling, sounding fierce when that woman walked by; but I didn't hear him in the background when that guy was literally at your door.

    1. Falcor doesn't like screamer lady at all. But he could have cared less that the guy was at my door.

  20. I wonder if one of the homeless had a box with the foam in it and when they went into the hole, some of it spilled out.

That was smart to google the words, I wouldn't have thought to do that. Let's hope he doesn't get reported!

I hope you have a good week!

  22. The graffiti Fallen From Failure is pretty useless as a promotional stunt. Who would even guess it's the name of a band? It just sounds like some strange comment on life.
