Favorite Picture of the Week
Tuesday and Wednesday this week we had a little bit of rain and dark clouds. It cooled things off a bit but the humidity increased to 30%. I don't like the humidity. lol
Not a great shot but you can see we still had some really dark clouds around sunset. The sun was trying to peek through those dark clouds but it was a losing battle.
More dark clouds. We also had some really strong winds and a dust storm this past week. The winds got so bad and strong that it cause more than 50 power poles to fall over all over Las Vegas, knocking power out all over the city. Thankfully my power stayed on but we did have a few brown outs where everything blinked like we were going to lose power. If you would like to see the news footage of the downed power poles you can find that here.
The yellow flowers across the street were in full bloom.
My daughter was packing her suitcase for a small trip with her friend who came to town for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Falcor jumped in the suitcase and tried making his bed there. "Where do you think you're going?" lol
While my daughter was gone I made some chocolate chip cookies. Every once in a while I have to ignore the diet and have a treat. Cookies!

Perhaps Falcor was hoping to be packed and taken along, to escape the humidity.
ReplyDeleteHe does love to go for a ride.
DeleteThe winds were strong!
ReplyDeleteFalcor wants to go on holiday, too, bless him!
The winds were crazy strong.
DeleteHumidity at 30%, LOL. Ours is at 90%. Once again your Sky pictures are really something. And look at that suitcase boy, he could have accidentally gone on a trip. We had a beautiful Orange Sky this morning at 5:30, as rain is moving in. You have to have a fun treat now and then and I'd say a cookie is a good way to go.
ReplyDeletelmao That humidity would be awfil. Sorry. The cookies were so good.
DeleteThey are not home-baked, but I often have choc chip cookies for dessert at supper, even when I am being good, which is most of the time now.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of home baked cookies.
DeleteFalcor's getting a bit cheeky!
ReplyDeletelmao Yes he is.
DeleteFalcor really wanted to go on the trip too!
ReplyDeleteHe thought that suitcase was his new bed. lol
DeleteThose cookies look so good! And the flowers are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWhew! Those are some very scary clouds!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought so too.
Deletelol your sweet pup in the suitcase! Those are the moodiest skies you've ever posted (that I have seen).
ReplyDeleteFalcor thought it was his new bed. The clouds are definitely some of the more dramatic.
DeleteThe last sky shot looks like a scene from a science fiction movie.
ReplyDeleteI know. I thought so too.
DeleteUgh, heat and humidity are the worst. It feels like walking out into soup most of the summer.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does. So bad.
DeleteWind knocking over 50 power poles? that's crazy! I'm glad your power didn't go out. And that pic of Falcor is so cute. :D
ReplyDeleteThe wind was nuts.
DeleteHope your daughter has a good time!
ReplyDeleteShe did.
DeleteNot good when the winds blow that hard. Glad you didn't lose power. Summer rain is nice for the cooler, but I don't know if the added humidity is worth it.
ReplyDeleteThe wind was nuts. Humidity was bad.
DeleteThe third photo defo looks like aliens are ready to land with their mothership. We had rain today too and we welcome it after the drought.
ReplyDeleteWe're in a drought as well. I say bring on the aliens at this point.
DeleteWhew, those sunset clouds did get dark. Haha, my cats climb into luggage, too. Yummy chocolate chip!
ReplyDeleteThe clouds were really something.
DeleteFalcor justs wants a holiday. :)
ReplyDeleteYes he does.
DeleteFalcor must want to go on a trip. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look a bit angry. Hey Falcor, nice bed dude. Oh cookies!
ReplyDeleteA nice collection of photographs ...Falcor looks sweet sitting in the suitcase.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
