Apartment Life #399
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Maintenance has been fixing the pipes around here where in the past we had raw sewage leaking from them.
They dug out the old ones and are installing the new pipes.
Maintenance was right in front of my window here replacing the pipes. At least hopefully we won't have to deal with the raw sewage problem again.
The fire department showed up at 11PM one night. Their lights were so bright all you can see is the lights from the truck. lol There was no fire and they didn't stay long so I have no idea why they were called. I do know from experience that when someone falls down in their home that you can call for an assist to get help back up from the fire department. I had to do that a couple of times when my late husband was on home hospice and he fell and I couldn't pick him up by myself. So when I see them stay for just a couple of minutes that's what I think it might be. But who knows.
It was a very quiet week.
The high this week was 71F/21C
The low this week was 47F/8C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

It's comforting to know that a phone call way there is help if you need it. And it's good to see that management is getting the pipes fixed for you. Our low tonight is going to be 5 degrees and I only wish my high was going to be a warm 47, lol.
ReplyDeleteYes, the fire department will come out just to help you get back up if you need it. That's cold.
DeleteI sure hope the new pipes end the problem of raw sewage leaks. That was a flagrant violation of even the most basic health standards.
ReplyDeleteYes, you and me both. No more raw sewage will be a real plus for this place.
DeleteGood news on the pipes!
ReplyDeleteYes, for sure.
DeleteLooks more like prisoners digging holes to escape...
ReplyDeletelmao I don't care who digs the holes as long as there's no more raw sewage.
DeleteI haven’t heard of fire departments doing that.
ReplyDeleteThey do it all the time apparently.
DeleteA quiet week indeed...at least it makes up for the previous one LOL.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does.
DeleteSo glad those pipes were promptly fixed
ReplyDeleteSo am I.
DeleteIt's funny how mysterious those quick fire department visits are, but your explanation about an assist call is very logical. Sounds like you definitely have enough material for a book.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny about how fast they are in and out sometimes.
DeleteRaw sewage is definitely a health hazard. Glad to hear they're fixing the issue.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteQuiet is good, especially with what are normal weeks where you live. I hope the raw sewage issue is solved completely with this work. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteQuiet is good. I will take more of that.
DeleteIt's about time they replaced those pipes, it took long enough.
ReplyDeleteThe new people are on the ball around here.
DeleteI think a quiet week is good news. I wonder about the sewage pipes. Is the old owner fixing it for the sale? Or is the new owner fixing it now that they own the place?
ReplyDeleteThe new owner, the old people have nothing to do with the place now.
DeleteI can't believe those pipes are finally being dealt with. It's a Christmas Miracle!
ReplyDeleteRight? This new maintenance team does it all apparently.
DeleteI’m glad they’re fixing the pipes.
ReplyDeleteSo am I.
DeleteSo pleased the pipes were dealt with.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I am too.
DeleteDear Mary, it is great that they are fixing the pipes. I am very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy about it too.
DeleteThank goodness for a quiet week. Oh, maybe the new group will be better? I hope the new pipes aren't just for show, but bring the system up to code. My week was busy with work and then my daughter finishing her semester and coming home.
ReplyDeleteI hope it prevents the problems of the past. I'm sure you're glad to have her home for a while.
DeleteQuiet is a good thing. The first responders are terrific!
ReplyDeleteYes, the first responders are great.
DeleteWe dealt with back sewer, no fun.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not.
DeleteIt's good they're getting those pipes fixed! And glad you had a quiet week.
ReplyDeleteHopefully no more sewage leaks now.
DeleteWell that's great that the popes are fixed.
ReplyDeleteHopefully that fixes the problem.
Deletewell isn't it nice to have raw sewage taken care of!! A lovely holiday present :)
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteYes, very quiet week for you. Have a nice day today in that 70 degree weather.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to have a quiet week for once.
DeleteThat is a great idea! Firefighters have to be strong, and you just have to get up!
ReplyDeleteYes, when you need help getting up they are there to help.
DeleteYou need a quiet week
ReplyDeleteYes I do
DeleteSounds like the new owners are taking more action.
ReplyDeleteThey are. But it would be nice if they go to my leaky sink soon. I put the work order in 2 weeks ago.
DeleteI like quiet weeks. We live right next door to an apartment complex. We've just learned it has a new owner. I hope the new owner is good!
ReplyDeleteI hope so for their sake too.
DeleteAbout time they tackled the raw sewage problem. I hope they've actually fixed it and the problem doesn't come back.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteWhat is worse; having to smell that raw sewage while it gets fixed or being the guy who has to fix them?!?!
ReplyDeleteI didn't smell anything bad as they were fixing the pipes.
DeleteMy sil fell off the toilet and couldn't get up once. She was mortified when the firefighters came to her rescue and her bare butt was on display for them to see when they came in.
ReplyDeleteOh no, Oh I bet she was mortified.
