Book Review: Ransom's Revenge by Julie K. Cohen

Book Description

He can’t trust her, but he will claim her.
Elise roams free in the anti-shifter research lab.
For weeks, she walked by Ransom’s cage, ignoring him.

Then she frees him,
But she’s reluctant to escape.

Ransom won’t leave her behind,
She’s shifter, and shifters don’t abandon shifters.

There’s more to this brave female than Ransom first realized.

Ransom wants to find his pack.
Elise wants to return to the anti-shifter research lab.

Something has to give.
It won’t be Ransom...

My Review

The book starts with Ransom and Elise already kidnapped and held against their will in a lab by the World Shifter Suppressor Organization (WSSO) who don't like that shifters live among humans and want to get rid of them. So they kidnap them and do horrible experiments on them. Ransom and Elise are two shifters who are being held against their will.

Ransom knows that Elise is a shifter but she has free reign of the facility and does nothing to rescue him when he's being tortured so he doesn't trust her at all until they do finally escape and he finds out that she wasn't there of her own free will or helping them at all. They were experimenting on her too, they just knew she couldn't escape.

But they didn't expect another shifter to be helping her and so they get away. Now the people from the lab are after them both and they are in danger. Ransom still isn't completely sure he can trust Elise but he can't let her go because she's his fated mate.

The people at the lab did something to Elise so that she's kinda broken and has a hard time reaching her wolf or shifting now. But with Ransom's help and the help of her new pack, she's going to figure out a way not to let the lab win and not be so broken.

Ransom is all alpha when he meets his mate and he's not letting anyone get in his way now that he's found her. He was a great character. I really like how these two came together to help each other and be there for each other when they had problems. I can't wait to read more of this series.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
