Favorite Picture of the Week
Last week it snowed and we've had snow on the mountain to the West of us, towards Mount Charleston/Red Rock area.
Snow is on the mountains to the North of us too.
I took pictures of the mountains as I walked the dog down the street.
Sunset on Monday.
Sunset on Saturday. It looked pink and purple.
Sunrise on Wednesday. There were so many clouds you could barely see the sun.
On Tuesday a storm rolled in and rained off and on all day.
I saw the storm clouds coming our way and started snapping pictures.
As it got closer and darker.
The clouds were just about over my apartment complex at this point and the wind really picked up. We had 50 mph gusts all day and into Wednesday.
I made sure to take Falcor out right before it got here because he doesn't like getting his dainty little feet wet. lol
It rained off and on all night.

That's rolling in, all right!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you can't get to an open spot and a clear view of the mountains. They look beautiful with the snow on them.
I know. I would have to drive quite a while to get to an open spot. Las Vegas has really built up in recent years.
DeleteSnow in Las Vegas? I've been seeing posts about the snow from bloggers on the east coast, but I never thought it would hit your area.
ReplyDeleteThe cloud in the "Sunset on Monday" picture is so dark and sharply bounded, it looks like a huge alien flying saucer is passing overhead.
In higher elevations like the mountains but not in the actual city. Haven't had snow in the city since 2019.
DeleteSNOW???? that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteNone in the city but the mountains are nice.
DeleteI don't blame him about not wanting to get his feet wet! What beautiful skies. I really like the one where you had a giant cloud cover on one half of the sky and blue sky on the other. Woke up this morning to another inch of snow here. Only had 3 in on monday.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We haven't had snow in the city for 6 years now. The mountains always get snow in the Winter.
DeleteThat Monday sunset is so dramatic!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteWonderful photos Mary. I love that 2nd photo with the trees and cars lined up and snow on the hills :-D
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI'm with Falcor, though my feet are far from dainty!

DeleteYour amazing clouds out there always look like they are from a movie production.
ReplyDeleteYes, this time of year we get great clouds.
DeleteLovely ones, especially those sunsets - dramatic the first, nicely sprinkled with colours the second, so black it doesn't even look like sunset the third!
ReplyDelete"I made sure to take Falcor out right before it got here because he doesn't like getting his dainty little feet wet. lol"
Aw, the little prince. LOL.
He hates being out when it rains. lol
DeleteThank you.
Lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteOminous clouds. Kind of weird to see snow and palm trees on the same picture.
ReplyDeleteLas Vegas is a weird city for sure.
DeleteWow Mary! These photos are amazing. The sunset with that dark cloud. Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteGorgeous mountains and a gorgeous sunset. Is there anything on that mountain or is it just a wild nature and wasteland?
ReplyDeleteUp on Mt. Charleston there is a ski lodge, homes, cabins you can rent. There's a lot of people up there.
DeleteVery dramatic skies. Did you actually get snow? Wow.
ReplyDeleteOnly got snow in the mountains not in the city.
DeleteFantastic sky photos, very nice!

ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad to hear that.
DeleteWe got quite a bit of snow last week, too. You had 50 mph winds?! Wow! Yes, my cats hate the rain like Falcor, haha!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was Wildly windy.
DeleteYou have the best skies!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBeautiful snow on the mountains and those were exquisite sunsets. Really cool how you did a time-lapse set of pictures of the approaching storm.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteGreat pictures. Our almost two feet of snow is quickly turning to slush. This has been a tough winter and I'm so eager to see spring.
ReplyDeleteI hope it warms up soon then.
DeleteIt's so interesting to see snow in the mountains and palm trees by where you are taking the photos. And what a crazy cloud that was.
ReplyDeleteThank you. There are so many palm trees around here.
DeleteWhat a great collection of photographs Mary, I enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you.
DeleteSomeone needs to be commissioned to make a book with the skyscapes of Vegas. The mountains are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea.
DeleteThe sunsets and storm clouds are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, Mary!
Thank you.
DeleteThose clouds and that sunset are striking
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI always like the distant photos of snow on the mountain. I had always wanted to ski Mt. Charleston, but never did.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried to ski. I just know I would break something.
