Saturday Vittles is Being Halted For A While
My daughter hasn't been eating much for the past couple of months and is losing weight too fast in my opinion because she's in pain all the time. I keep hoping things are going to get better with each new doctor she sees but it hasn't happened yet. They just keep saying that she'll be in pain until the Lupus medicine starts working. That it's normal to be in pain when you have Lupus. She got a referral to Pain Management but the first one she got a referral to didn't take her insurance so she's waiting on another referral. She's in a lot of pain and needs help walking so this is unnecessary torment for her and it's brought my anxiety levels up so much that I'm still not sleeping.
So until something changes and I'm not surrounded by this blanket of depression that feels like it's drowning me with no way to swim out, I'm not making a bunch of healthy meals just for myself. Depression and anxiety makes me want to eat my weight in cake but I'm not doing that either. I'm just not eating as healthy as I probably should right now.

What an awful state to be in. Maybe the meds will magically kick in soon.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so.
DeleteI am sorry to hear this, Mary. I hope they can help your daughter manage her pain and that you can manage your depression. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI'm sure in time it will get better.
DeleteHope you both feel better soon. I hear you on the cake. Sweets are my go-to for stress as well 😞
ReplyDeleteOh definitely.
DeleteI'm so sorry! Constant pain like that is so miserable. I can see why you're so anxious and stressed out. Hang in there. I hope your daughter's pain eases soon...or that she gets in some place where they can actually help her. Sending hugs and prayers to both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope so too.
DeleteDang, I sure hope your daughter gets some good treatment news really soon. I'm sending hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI hope things improve for both of you. I know what chronic pain is like!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's not fun, I know too.
DeleteMy dear friend. I know that the stress and depression of what's going on can be overwhelming, with that said the healthy meals do help with that. I'm sure E is on Immunosuppressive medications, and all of the other things doctors have tried for her pain. Have she tried acupuncture? It is one thing that helps me when it is too unbearable. Just a suggestion. I pray things get better very soon.
ReplyDeleteNo, she hasn't tried that. She can barely walk right now so she's not going anywhere unless she has to. Thank you.
DeleteI am so very sorry to read about both of you struggling so hard to make life better. Just know you both are in my thoughts and cares.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is terrible news, Mary. I hope your daughter gets some much needed help soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too.
DeleteDoctors are just terrible, it so often seems that they just do not care. Can she seek out some alternative medicine doctors?
ReplyDeleteWith her insurance she has to stay with the doctors who are part of her network and after looking through it, I don't see many alternative medicine doctors in the list.
DeleteI do hope your daughter gets help soon.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you both in my prayers.
All the best Jan
I hope so too.
DeleteI hope your daughter can get some pain medication soon and with time begin to improve. I also hope that you can manage your depression. Sending prayers for you both.

ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI’m really sorry you and your daughter are going through this; it sounds exhausting and frightening to watch someone you love in so much pain while still waiting for the right support. Navigating referrals, insurance, and uncertainty on top of that is a lot for anyone to carry.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't be this hard for people but it is. Thank you.
DeleteSending prayers for you and your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI hope you both feel better soon.
Thank you.
DeleteI hope things pick up Mary. Sending hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was drowning after I broke my ankle and couldn't walk. It was a terrible situation. But I came out the other side. Stay positive please. It will get better soon. Hugs x
I'm glad you did. I'm sure in time things will get better.
DeleteGlad to hear you're eating healthy because that's one way to help you and your daughter's health. Hoping things improve, Mary!
ReplyDeleteStill trying to.
DeleteUnderstandable. I wish I had something to offer.
