This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Life Update:
My daughter had her first infusion on the 11th. They got her in earlier than expected which is great. She's doing better. Still more doctor visits coming up, but her primary care doctor told her she has stage 1 Kidney disease too. But they are treating her to keep it from getting worse.
I'm getting better. First thing in the morning I can barely move but as the day goes on, I'm in less pain and am trying to walk a little more.
This week I saw 2 police cars in front of my complex. There was a domestic fight going on in one of the apartments in that courtyard. Didn't look like anyone went to jail though.

Friday afternoon I spotted the police had pulled a car over and gave the driver a ticket. I wasn't out there when he got pulled over so I don't know what he did wrong.
After the driver pulled away, the cops stayed there talking to each other for a while.
The high this week was 107F/41C
The low this week was 82F/27C

Delete107°! I suppose you don't have any humidity but that's still pretty darn hot. Fry an egg on the sidewalk while the cops were standing around talking, lol. Good news about your daughter. And I bet Falcor loves having you getting outside for a walk when it's cooler in the mornings.

ReplyDeleteI am happy to know that both you and your daughter are improving healthwise. Baby steps toward wellness might not be the giant leaps you both desire but, nevertheless, they indicate steady progress.
Based on your summary, it was a more peaceful week on your block than reported in most of your Sunday features over the years. That too is good news and hopefully represents a trend.
With high temperatures reaching triple digits now, I think about the many people in your city leading lives of desperation out on the streets.

DeleteNot as quiet as last week but I love that there is some good news with your daughter. Well good news that she has gotten her first infusion. Hopefully her kidney disease can be held at bay or improved. My husband had end stage kidney disease and needed a transplant several years ago, but all is good now. Have a super rest of your weekend.

DeleteIt's good that your daughter is doing well. Hopefully the doctor will be able to reverse the kidney problems. I've been lucky so far and (knock wood) hope I have a few more years left. The good thing is, even though I refuse to see any of the Immunologists here because they are hacks, my GP has been smart enough to talk to the only Immunologist that he knows is worth her weight in gold but isn't taking any more patients about my treatments, what tests to order prior to every four month visit to keep informed of how Lupus and my RA is treating my body. I really wish I could get an appointment with her but the waiting list is unbelievable. She's really the best.

DeleteI hope your daughter has positive results from her infusions. My son is going through this, his second year. Thankfully, this second phase of infusions has less troublesome side effects than the first phase did.

ReplyDeleteMy god Mary lows of 27C? That's a heatwave for us! Been raining a lot here lately still.
The Summers here are brutal. Wait until next month and August and the lows will be even higher.

DeleteHow positively shitty that it does not go below 27C at night already. We first had such tropical nights last year and I thought I would die. I am used for temps to go to at least 20C before midnight.
