Favorite Picture of the Week
I know ya'll are gonna laugh but I've never seen a double cherry before, let alone cherries in a bag of cherries that look like they're carrying around their own baby cherries.
Ken brought me home a 1 lb bag of cherries and every single cherry was either a mature double cherry or was a single cherry with a baby cherry on it. LOL
Each one had one stem but two cherries and I found it weird to say the least. So to make sure I wasn't about to eat some kind of mutant Area 51 type fruit...I did what anyone would do, I Googled it. Sure enough it was safe to eat. Sometimes for different reasons they just grow like this. First time I've ever seen it though. I still think Area 51 is out here experimenting on the cherries.
I thought this strange occurrence needed to be documented and Ken laughed as I was taking pictures. But tell me, have you ever seen this before?

I sometimes see those kind of weird fruits in my parents garden:)
ReplyDeleteHow strange.
DeleteI see them from time to time - but never a whole bag at a time.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't expecting a whole bag of them.
DeleteI'm usually suspicious of weird looking fruit and veggies. There are all kinds of experiments going on in agriculture with seeds and growing methods. I don't know much about it, so I ignore the 'curiosities'.
ReplyDeletetrue.
DeleteI grew up in a produce market and even helped garden and still garden to this day so I do know that cherries like that happen but never a whole bag!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why there was a whole bag of them. It was weird.
DeleteI've seen the big double cherries but not the little guys. I honestly don't eat cherries all that often. However, I wouldn't think it would be the whole bag. LoL
ReplyDeleteit was weird but they were good. lol
DeleteWeird! I just bought some cherries yesterday and will have to check them out carefully.
ReplyDeletelol They still tasted good.
DeleteI've never seen something like that lol
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely strange.
DeleteI wonder what they are putting in the fertilizer to cause that?
ReplyDeletelol I wonder that too.
DeleteThat's pretty interesting. We get a fruit basket every couple of weeks and we had cherries in it the other day. Ours were just regular single ones though.

This isn't something I've ever seen before.
DeleteI love cherries and never seen that before. Strange indeed!
ReplyDeleteRight? See I knew it needed to be documented.
Deletehaha I think you are safe from area 51 fruits.
ReplyDeletelmao You never know. Has your alien been doing something to the cherries over here?
DeleteI don't think I've seen one ever.
ReplyDeleteFirst time for me too.
DeleteOdd looking for sure! I haven't ever seen any like that in my cherry bags.
ReplyDeleteFirst time for me too.
DeleteThe one looks like a baboon's butt...

DeleteHaha weird
ReplyDeleteit sure was.
DeleteI have seen one like the top photo on the right, but not the kind where a baby is growing inside. That's weird!
ReplyDeleteIt was weird but they were tasty. lol
DeleteYes! I've seen it a lot when I loved in FL but cherries are in season here in WA but they all look perfectly normal - even at the farmers market.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
They tasted good.
DeleteI love cherries but I've never seen them doubled or with baby cherries growing on them! How strange... "Mutant Area 51 fruit" had me in stitches!
