Apartment Life #422

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.

Life Update:

I'm still in a lot of pain and walking with a crutch. Nothing is broken but I have a pulled muscle in my back, a pinched nerve and sciatica pain shooting down the back of my leg like lightning. I also found out I have Osteoporosis and some bone loss. Taking Calcium supplements now. I'll get back to posting more after some of this pain goes away.

My daughter starts her infusions soon and she's not in as much pain, thankfully. So that's a big relief. Still waiting on the referrals for a couple of places. She called her insurance company and got the names of the places that do take her insurance and left a message with the referral dept. So this time they shouldn't send her to a place that doesn't take her insurance. You would think they would be smart enough to do that themselves, but apparently not.

Today is also my 21st Blogoversary!

I just want to thank everyone who stops by, reads and comments on my posts. You guys are the reason that I am still here doing this. I love reading all your comments and reading your blogs as well.
---

I only saw the police around here once this week but I haven't been doing much walking because of the pain. This car got pulled over and the guy was handed a ticket for something.

The high this week was 98F/36C
The low this week was 66F/18C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. Congratulations on the blogiversary! You've got about a year and a half on me. Twenty-one years is a long stretch.

Sorry to hear the medical problems are still dragging on. It's good that you found out about the osteoporosis and can do something about it, though.

    1. Thank you so much. Yes, I'm glad I found out and glad I didn't break anything.

  2. Starting to be very good news for your daughter. Let's hope it continues in an upward manner. Now if you could get your pain under control things would be so much easier. I guess this does mean that you see less excitement when you're stuck inside like that. Happy anniversary on your blog. I have so much fun reading it that I hope you are able to continue as you recover.

  3. Twenty-one years! That is impressive.
Glad your daughter is seeing progress and in less pain. I have so little faith in the medical field now after dealing with elderly parents.

  8. I hope you'll get some relief from the pain soon! At least your daughter is doing better and things are moving in the right direction for her. Too bad we have to do the work other people are supposed/payed to do in order to get what we need...like those referrals 😬.

    Happy 21st blogoversary!

  15. Happy Blogversary! And Mary, I have pulled something in my back too. And using ice packs helps a bit. For my sciatica, I use a rolled towel under my waist for ten minutes a time and it helps with the pain. Hoping you get pain free soon.

  16. Happy anniversary to your blog! Bless you, I hope you and your daughter are free of pain very soon. We don't live in an apartment, but we totally understand bad neighbors. We have had some of the worst just move out, but who knows if the replacements will be any better? I wish I had 100 acres, I would live right in the middle! LOL! Tiny shack, I don't care, just me and the birds in the trees.

  18. Happy Blogoversary! I'm happy your daughter is getting some relief (finally!) but our system is so broken - you can't trust much without calling and verifying yourself. And you are supposed to do that in the midst of a medical condition making you sick/in pain/etc. What if you don't have a family member to advocate for you? It's horrible. 21. Since November 2025, my new job has driven me crazy. However, it's been rough, challenging, and also promising because I can earn money for my family.

I think your timeline to make a weekly blog post is cool, and we have something in common here. I decided to do that too, ma'am. A weekly blog post.

I can understand that situation, ma'am. At the age I am now, 55 years old, I have experienced some of the things you have been through. However, I have no idea what it is like dealing with bone problems or something similar. I just try to live healthily by eating healthy food and working out, including at least 30 minutes of jogging.

I hope your lovely daughter can recover soon. We have such support from our government in Indonesia in the field of health support programs funded by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

The bottom line is that people here receive support from our government for medical treatment free of charge through a health guarantee card. Every person has a health social card in their own name.

You can go to any hospital and get medical treatment for free with that amazing card.
I will write a complete article about it someday

    1. Thank you so much. We have to get insurance and find a doctor who takes our insurance before we can be seen. It's a lot of work and they take forever to get anything done.

  31. I am so impressed with your time at blogging. Happy anniversary, kiddo. It's good that you daughter is getting proper care. This is funny, the doctor I was seeing, and was diagnosed for Lupus, well he got arrested for double billing and Medicare fraud. Ouch! Glad I dropped him. I have thought of going to check out the doctor that took over the practice. She sounds good. I just have to wait until she starts taking more patients.
Back pain. I know the feeling. Have had several back surgeries and injections. Nothing works when you get old. You just endure the pain. Sorry. But I am glad your daughter is getting the help she needs.
