This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Life Update:
I'm still in a lot of pain and walking with a crutch. Nothing is broken but I have a pulled muscle in my back, a pinched nerve and sciatica pain shooting down the back of my leg like lightning. I also found out I have Osteoporosis and some bone loss. Taking Calcium supplements now. I'll get back to posting more after some of this pain goes away.
My daughter starts her infusions soon and she's not in as much pain, thankfully. So that's a big relief. Still waiting on the referrals for a couple of places. She called her insurance company and got the names of the places that do take her insurance and left a message with the referral dept. So this time they shouldn't send her to a place that doesn't take her insurance. You would think they would be smart enough to do that themselves, but apparently not.

Today is also my 21st Blogoversary!
I just want to thank everyone who stops by, reads and comments on my posts. You guys are the reason that I am still here doing this. I love reading all your comments and reading your blogs as well.

I only saw the police around here once this week but I haven't been doing much walking because of the pain. This car got pulled over and the guy was handed a ticket for something.
The high this week was 98F/36C
The low this week was 66F/18C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
Congratulations on the blogiversary! You've got about a year and a half on me. Twenty-one years is a long stretch.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear the medical problems are still dragging on. It's good that you found out about the osteoporosis and can do something about it, though.
Thank you so much. Yes, I'm glad I found out and glad I didn't break anything.
DeleteStarting to be very good news for your daughter. Let's hope it continues in an upward manner. Now if you could get your pain under control things would be so much easier. I guess this does mean that you see less excitement when you're stuck inside like that. Happy anniversary on your blog. I have so much fun reading it that I hope you are able to continue as you recover.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I'm trying to write a bit now that the pain is a little bit better.
DeleteTwenty-one years! That is impressive.
ReplyDeleteGlad your daughter is seeing progress and in less pain. I have so little faith in the medical field now after dealing with elderly parents.
Thank you. I can understand that. It takes so long to get anything done.
DeleteGoodness that's hot! Congratulations on your blog anniversary, that's very impressive. I'm sorry to hear about pain you're having to endure at the moment, I hope you get some relief from it soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It gets hotter as the Summer drags on.
DeleteMy back has been wonky this week and activities have been curtailed. I hope you get relief soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I hope you do too.
DeleteCongrats on your blogiversary! Thanks for the health update I wish you guys well.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHappy Blogoversary! Wishing you a peaceful week 💕
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate that.
DeleteI hope you'll get some relief from the pain soon! At least your daughter is doing better and things are moving in the right direction for her. Too bad we have to do the work other people are supposed/payed to do in order to get what we need...like those referrals 😬.
ReplyDeleteHappy 21st blogoversary!
Thank you. It's so ridiculous that she had to be the one to find out which places she can go to.
DeleteHappy Blogoversary from all of us! I hope you and your daughter are doing better super soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHappy Blogoversary from me too. Sorry to read about your back issues and hope these won’t take too long to go away. I am also keeping your daughter in my thoughts and wish you both only the very best.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I appreciate that.
DeleteI hope you and your daughter can get some permanent relief from the pain. Is Falcor having to live with fewer walks? Oh and Happy Blogiversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you. My grandson has been taking Falcor out for me.
DeleteSo glad your daughter is doing a bit better and hope that for you as well. Healing energy sent to both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYou take good care, Mary. We know about sciatica. My Joe just went to bed for a nap. He's feeling dizzy. Who knows what is wrong now!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope he feels better.
DeleteHappy Blogiversary! Hope you and your daughter's health continues to improve.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHappy Blogversary! And Mary, I have pulled something in my back too. And using ice packs helps a bit. For my sciatica, I use a rolled towel under my waist for ten minutes a time and it helps with the pain. Hoping you get pain free soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will try that.
DeleteHappy anniversary to your blog! Bless you, I hope you and your daughter are free of pain very soon. We don't live in an apartment, but we totally understand bad neighbors. We have had some of the worst just move out, but who knows if the replacements will be any better? I wish I had 100 acres, I would live right in the middle! LOL! Tiny shack, I don't care, just me and the birds in the trees.
ReplyDeletelmao I would live away from all the neighbors if I could too. Thank you.
DeleteYou need a drone to carry you around LOL Hope you get better soon.
ReplyDeletelol Yes I do. I'm still using a crutch to get around right now.
DeleteHappy Blogoversary! I'm happy your daughter is getting some relief (finally!) but our system is so broken - you can't trust much without calling and verifying yourself. And you are supposed to do that in the midst of a medical condition making you sick/in pain/etc. What if you don't have a family member to advocate for you? It's horrible. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteit really is broken and I'm seeing first hand just how hard it is to get anything done with them. It is horrible.
DeleteDear Mary, Happy 😊 Blogoversary, dear friend. I am so sorry to hear that you are still experiencing pain. 😢 I wish you good health and happiness. Thank you so much for your posts, and most of all, for being you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your sweet comment.
DeleteMedical insurance and such can be a nightmare. I won't express my thoughts on our medical system.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. They give you the run around so bad.
DeleteSince November 2025, my new job has driven me crazy. However, it's been rough, challenging, and also promising because I can earn money for my family.
ReplyDeleteI think your timeline to make a weekly blog post is cool, and we have something in common here. I decided to do that too, ma'am. A weekly blog post.
I can understand that situation, ma'am. At the age I am now, 55 years old, I have experienced some of the things you have been through. However, I have no idea what it is like dealing with bone problems or something similar. I just try to live healthily by eating healthy food and working out, including at least 30 minutes of jogging.
I hope your lovely daughter can recover soon. We have such support from our government in Indonesia in the field of health support programs funded by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
The bottom line is that people here receive support from our government for medical treatment free of charge through a health guarantee card. Every person has a health social card in their own name.
You can go to any hospital and get medical treatment for free with that amazing card.
I will write a complete article about it someday
Thank you so much. We have to get insurance and find a doctor who takes our insurance before we can be seen. It's a lot of work and they take forever to get anything done.
DeleteHappy blogoversary. Glad that your daughter isn't in so much pain. I hope you get your pain sorted, too. It's not cool being in pain.
ReplyDeleteThank you. No, it's not. Being in pain sucks.
DeleteBummer about your back! I hope they have a plan to help you get back to getting around more. Happy to hear your daughter's pain is being managed better. Happy 21st blogoversary! Wow, that's a long time! I enjoy your posts and seeing what you're up to, Mary!
ReplyDeleteNo plan. Just told me to take my medicine, start calcium supplements and use a heating pad. I looked up stretches I can do and have been doing them which seems to help.
DeletePraying for you both. Happy bloggerversery. Senior apartment living is doing fine except we called to complain about a happy dog and found out the calls were coming from inside the apartment
ReplyDeleteHa! That's funny. Thank you.
DeleteI do hope your pain improves, Mary certainly no fun having to use crutches all the time. Your daughter, hope all goes well with her too.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It is getting better.
DeleteHope you feel better soon Mary. Back pain is never easy. Keep taking the calcium. Hugs to you and your daughter.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Anniversary :-D
Thank you. I am and hopefully no more pain problems after this.
Deletehealth care is broken that is why you have to do so much! I hope your daughter gets to see the specialists soon. I also hope you are in less pain!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Some of the scheduling has been done now thankfully.
DeleteSciatica is no fun - I hope you're soon free of it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I do too.
DeleteI'm sorry you're still in pain, Mary. I also have osteoporosis and have been getting more calcium in my diet and doing strength and resistance exercises.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea. for me as well.
DeleteI'm so sorry you're dealing with nerve pain; it's the worst because it's so hard to get any relief from it. But I'm glad your daughter is in less pain. Fingers crossed things improve for you both!
ReplyDeleteI started taking Cymbalta and it gets rid of the nerve pain so fast.
DeleteI am so impressed with your time at blogging. Happy anniversary, kiddo. It's good that you daughter is getting proper care. This is funny, the doctor I was seeing, and was diagnosed for Lupus, well he got arrested for double billing and Medicare fraud. Ouch! Glad I dropped him. I have thought of going to check out the doctor that took over the practice. She sounds good. I just have to wait until she starts taking more patients.
ReplyDeleteBack pain. I know the feeling. Have had several back surgeries and injections. Nothing works when you get old. You just endure the pain. Sorry. But I am glad your daughter is getting the help she needs.
Thank you. Things are starting to get a bit better. So sorry to hear about your surgeries and injections. My brother is going through that right now too.
DeleteOh Mary! I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you get relief soon. Congrats on 21 years of blogging. What an accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's getting better.
DeleteI hope you get well soon, Mary.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHappy Blogaversary! And I hope everything works out
ReplyDeleteThank you.
