Freebie Friday!

Welcome to another weekly Freebie Friday post, where I tell you what free samples and full sized products I received in the mail and how you can get them too. Someone asked me why I do a "Freebie Friday" each week, so I'll tell you.

A while back I listed all the free samples and wins that I had received that previous year and so many people didn't believe that I could have gotten so many free things. So I decided to prove it by taking a picture every week and sharing the sites that I found the links to the freebies at. So now you too can get great free samples coming to your mailbox each week.

You can find links to great samples at Hey It's Free and Freebie Shark.

What did I receive this week?

I received a free Nature Valley Smokey BBQ Savory Nut Crunch bar.

I like the sweet Nature Valley bars but this one I didn't care for. My daughter on the other hand liked it so she got the rest of it.

Did you receive any freebies this week?

Book Review: Hell Hath No Fury by Skye Jordan

Book Description

As a high-profile Washington lobbyist, Jessica Fury has all the coveted trappings of DC: money, connections, and influence. But five years ago, she had something far more precious: happiness. She shared a firefighting career with her husband and the love of her life, Quaid. Then one day her hazmat team walked into a chemical inferno--and Quaid never walked out. Jessica has been through hell to piece her shattered world back together. Then a rumor surfaces that could bring a miracle or destroy her--again.

Q has been a prisoner for as long as he can remember. The men who hold him have honed his mind and body into weapons, and he's developed abilities no one understands. They wipe out his memory, test him like a lab rat, and lie. Even though his past has been erased and he doesn’t believe he has anything to live for, instinct tells him different: there is a woman out there who needs him. And what his mind can't remember, his body can't forget. . .

My Review

Jessica and their firefighting team get called to a burning building. Quaid goes in first and spots some barrels on fire and melting. So he tries to get the numbers on the barrels so they know what they are up against but then one explodes. He knows this stuff is bad news and tries to get out and let his team know not to come in because another barrel is about to explode. But before he can, the barrel explodes, giving him a big blast of the chemicals and throwing him across the room and into the wall, breaking many of the bones in his body. Some of his other teammates also get exposed to the chemicals but most make it out alive. Back at the hospital Quaid dies because his injuries were so severe, or at least that's what his team are led to believe. In reality Quaid is kidnapped by some government officials and held hostage, tortured and experimented on because he ended up with the most supernatural abilities from the chemical exposure.

Some of the other teammates that were inside the building when it exploded also have new abilities and 5 years later they realize that Quaid, now known as Q, had been alive this whole time and they set out to rescue him.

After the rescue, the government, mostly officials from the DOD are after Quaid and the teammates because they know too much and some of them have abilities the government wants to use. But Quaid has unique abilities that not even he fully understands how to use.

While Quaid and Jessica get to know each other again because he has no memory before his time being captured by the government and being used by them, they also have to try and find a way to stay one step ahead of the people after them and to use their abilities to help themselves.

While this book started out a bit slow, things started picking up after they realized Quaid was a live. A few twists are thrown into the story which made things more exciting to read and the pace really picked up. It was fun to watch them learn how to work as a group again, watch Quaid get to know his team again and to watch the romance blossom between Quaid and Jessica again. It ended up being quite the action, drama, military, mystery read. This is book 3 in the Phoenix Rising series but I didn't feel like I was missing much. So for me at least, I was able to start in the middle of the series.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Book Review: Warrior's Hope by Rebecca Zanetti

Book Description

This thrilling novel in the New York Times bestselling author’s popular Dark Protectors series takes readers on a wild ride as the only female vampire ever born brings a love triangle to its explosive conclusion—deciding the fate of battling factions as the forces of good and evil gather for the ultimate showdown.

As the only female vampire ever born, and the heir to two powerful immortal families, Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood has always felt the weight of fate and destiny. Now her heart is torn between two men and two different futures. It’s a choice between duty and love, peace and war, with the fate of everyone she loves hanging in the balance.

As the leader of the Kurjan nation, Drake has always known that mating Hope is the best path to avoiding war. He’s counting on her to know the same. . . . Paxton has been Hope’s best friend and protector since they were children. He would kill and die for her without a second thought. In fact, he’s always known that would be his path . . .

With deadly factions at her heels, Hope must decide whom to trust and where her loyalty lies—before the choice is taken away from her . . .

My Review

I've been reading this series since the very beginning so I know all of the characters that show up in this book and there are a lot of them. So for that reason I would say it's better to read this series from the beginning so you know what's going on with this story.

Hope, Paxton and Drake have known each other for years, since they were kids. Drake is now the leader of the Kurjans. Paxton is part demon and had a really bad childhood because his father beat him after his mother died. It was only after Hope found out about it and told her father who is the leader of their kind that Paxton went to live with his uncle and was treated better. Hope is the only female vampire hybrid ever to be born but she doesn't have any special powers and the doctors and scientists have been researching her blood since she was a small child trying to figure out why she gets sick and can't heal herself.

The Kurjan nation is at war with just about everyone else because they are kidnapping enhanced females. Plus Drake is helping Ulric who wants to perform another ritual that could destroy the Universe and many of the enhanced females as a sacrifice for the ritual. So Hope and the other immortals are doing what they can to stop him. Drake says he wants to stop Ulric but does he really?

I really thought I knew what was going to happen with Hope, Drake and Paxton but boy was I wrong. Even though Hope can dream walk and bring Paxton and Drake along with her so they can all talk, all three of them have been keeping secrets from each other for as long as they have known each other. And the secrets were big, really big. All of those secrets come to light in this book which made the story have so many different twists so that I was kept guessing what might happen next with these three.  But I liked the ending even though I was a little sad because these three weren't exactly like I thought they would be after watching them grow up.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Book Review: Bear In A Bakery by Liz Paffel

Book Description

One sexy carpenter bear shifter. One sassy human with a sweet, sweet cinnamon roll.
Allie Rowe is in a bind after drunk raccoons do a number on her business, Sticky Sweet Bakery. With a major event coming up, she can't afford to be out of commission... but she can't afford to fix things, either. Her meddling father thinks he'll play matchmaker when he hires sexy carpenter and bear shifter Dax Mitchell to lend a hand.

She’s already played the rejected mate game, and isn’t going there again, thanks. Bear shifters are trouble with muscles. Shifters are off limits!

Dax won’t take no for an answer, making her wonder if he’s helping from the kindness of his heart, or if he'll require some sort of repayment...

Dax is under pressure to take a mate before the fates rob him of his strength. His dying father's wish is to see his son mated. A staunch bachelor, Dax is inclined to change his mind when sexy, curvy Allie offers him a taste of her sweet roll.

When an unexpected enemy makes himself known, and time winds down on his chance to take a mate, Dax must decide how far he’ll go to claim his fated mate.

My Review

Allie owns the Sticky Sweet Bakery but when raccoons have a field day inside her shop wreaking havoc by chewing wires, tearing up the walls, and making water flood her shop, she's at her wits end until her father sends a handyman over to help fix the problem.  But Dax is a bear shifter and she's had her fill of bear shifters. Her now ex is a bear shifter and won't leave her alone so she's not falling for the flirty, sexy looking handyman who wants to help her fix her shop. But if she doesn't take his help, she may never get everything back to normal.

Dax is different from her ex and she realizes that right away but still wants to keep Dax at a distance even though the chemistry is there between them. But Dax has a problem that won't wait even though he wants to give Allie time to get to know him a little bit better before he lets her know what's going on with him, he just doesn't have time for that. It doesn't help that his brother let's the cat out of the bag so to speak and someone is making things tougher on her, making things worst. The twists that pop up in this story were really good and made the story keep flowing which kept me engaged and wanting to know what would happen next. But I loved Dax and how he stepped up for her with her ex. He definitely wasn't someone that the ex wanted to mess with. This was such a cute story.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Review: Bad Luck Vampire by Lynsay Sands

Book Description

New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands returns in this latest chapter of the Argeneau series with an immortal who is having a bit of bad luck while trying to woo his life mate…

Alasdair MacKenzie has never once considered himself unlucky in all the centuries he’s been an immortal rogue enforcer. Not until he meets Sophie. Finding the beautiful, smart, and funny woman who is his life mate is great luck, actually. But meeting her at a wedding full of Argeneaus, not to mention his own busybody uncles determined to “help him claim his woman,” is bad luck. And the fact that Sophie is someone else’s date? Well that’s just the next level of unlucky.

From the way her gaze travels over his body like a caress to the electric zing whenever they innocently touch…he wants her for all eternity! He’ll keep his hands off Sophie until her date is over. After that all bets are off and he’ll pull out all the stops to win her. Great plan—until he gets hit by a car. And then he’s poisoned. Is his luck that bad, or is someone out to stop this immortal from claiming Sophie as his life mate?

My Review

Sophie ends up being harassed by a guy she meets and it looks like he wasn't going to take no for an answer. Tybo sees this and makes sure she is safe. Tybo likes her so he invites her to a family wedding where he finds out that she might be the lifemate of Alasdair. So Tybo makes himself scarce for most of the wedding so they can get to know each other a little better. But because he is supposed to be her date for the wedding he does make time to dance with her a few times and check on her so she doesn't think he's ignoring her. They part ways that night as friends since neither of them feel more.

Later Alasdair asks her out and right away he knows she's his lifemate but she has no idea that he's immortal like his family is. So he has to take thing slowly because she's human. They go out on a date and they both feel a spark of attraction for each other.

After they talk and get to know one another a little better, Alasdair finds out that Sophie has had a very rough life. She lost her parents when she was young and ended up being taken in my her best friends parents a while later. He also finds out that some of the other close people in her life ended up dying in accidents and she feels like she might be cursed.

Just as things seem to be going good for Alasdair and Sophie, weird things start to happen and Alasdair tries to keep the worst of it from her so he doesn't have to explain to her how he healed so quickly. But he also thinks it might just be an accident until his brother and uncles tell him different. When family secrets come to light and she finds out she has a stalker, Alasdair has no choice but to come clean in order to keep her safe while they try to figure out who is behind it all.

I loved Alasdair's uncles. They are hilarious and they mean well but sometimes go about things the wrong way. Alasdair and Sophie make such a sweet couple, I was really rooting for them. I have been reading this series since it began and these books just get better and better. I cannot recommend this series enough.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Apartment Life #285

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.

At 1am I heard some sirens beeping out front so I looked out my bedroom window and sure enough there were 3 police cars outside. They had Mike pulled over, was searching his suburban and had him in handcuffs. But a few minutes later they let him go. I wonder what they were looking for?

----

On Wednesday a thunderstorm blew through and my courtyard flooded again. it only lasted a few hours but at least it cooled things off for a while.
----

My daughter found these two pills in a baggie out near where some of the homeless people hang out. Over by where the camper was parked across the street a couple of weeks ago.  She brought them home and asked me to Google what they were. So I did. Search results below.

Turns out these are Counterfeit Oxycodone pills containing Fentanyl.

She washed her hands real fast, took a picture of them, picked them up with a napkin and flushed them. I don't know how dangerous they are but the fact that they contain fentanyl was enough to scare us both. And I already know she shouldn't be picking up pills from the sidewalk but they were in a baggie and she was curious.

The high this week was 93F/33C
The low this week was 66F/18C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

I received a Healthy Snack Box that I won on Twitter.
I also received a $5 payment to my Paypal account from a class action settlement that I signed up for.
I also got $10 cash back from Pedigree for spending $20 on Pedigree dog food which I already buy.

Daily Goodie Box and Healthy Snack Box no longer sends free boxes to bloggers but we can all still go over to Twitter and try to win a free box by commenting on their posts. That's how I won a free box. I liked all the different snacks in the box.

Favorite Picture of the Week

There was this huge cloud right above my apartment complex and I was able to angle the picture to get the sound wall next to us as well. The wall always makes me feel like I'm in a prison yard because it's almost 20 feet tall. lol

Sunrise one morning this week.

Book Review: Bewitched In Blood by Jen Katemi

Book Description

I escaped death once and now the demon is back to claim my soul. The only thing standing between us is a hellhound shifter who sets my body and heart on fire…

Blood witch Topaz should be dead. She evaded the demon monster once before, with the help of the Fae Winter Court. But now the soul collector is back on the hunt and she is firmly in his sights.

Hellhound shifter Kyan's pack owes the blood witch’s family a debt. He’s there not to kill Topaz, but to protect her from his former Otherworld masters.

But how can she trust the man with the intense green eyes—the man who ignites her body with molten heat and sets her heart fluttering—when the hellhound genes Kyan carries in his veins are the same as the creatures she’s been running from?

Will the man who has stolen her heart, also take her life?

My Review

Topaz gets a cryptic warning from her sister that she thinks she might be in danger. So Topaz strengthens the wards around her home. So when a man collapses in her yard, she's not sure whether to leave him there or to bring him inside and help him. Being the nice person she is, she decides to bring him inside but since he's so big she has to use a little witchy magic to help get him inside. Once she helps him and he wakes up, she sure is glad she helped the very large hottie who was sent by a shifter pack to help her. But since shifters and witches don't usually get along, she's curious why the pack would want to help her and why. This question isn't answered until later and it sure was a good reason and gave us some insight into her and her family.

Kyan is sent by his alpha to make sure Topaz is safe from the demon who is hunting her. But when the demon unleashes hellhounds on them, Kyan is able to fight them without even shifting into his animal form. Topaz can't figure out what kind of shifter he is and he's not telling her...yet. He doesn't want to scare her away and wants her to trust him so telling her that he's also a hellhound is probably not the thing to do right away. But we all know the truth will come out at some point and most people are going to be more mad about being lied to even if it's by omission.

As secrets come to light, old debts are paid and the sisters come together to fight the demon, Kyan and Topaz are also fighting their growing feelings for each other. I loved Kyan's pack and am looking forward to getting to know more of them.

This was an adrenaline rush from the very beginning of the book, right to the end. I had so much fun reading this book and am looking forward to reading more of this series now.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Book Review: Craze by Sedona Venez

Book Description

When Misty is abducted from Earth by terrifying beastly-looking aliens, she’s ready to fight for her life. But when the spaceship crash lands on an alien planet, and she’s rescued by Craze, a sexy alien warrior prince, she doesn't know what to think.

When Craze rescues her, he doesn’t expect to find his fated mate Misty, with her lush curves and tempting body. Now all he can think about is claiming all of her…soul, heart, and body…for his very own. And he will stop at nothing to claim her.

Craze demands the right to take her under his protection. But all Misty wants is a way to get back to earth and the life she was taken from. And there is no way in hell that she’d fall for the sexy, overbearing alien warrior prince, who is determined to make her his own…

My Review

Misty is abducted by big, ugly aliens. She finds out that they plan to sell her and the other females aboard the ship to slavers. She knows she has to get off the ship but she has no idea how. Then Craze, another alien from a different planet comes to her rescue and rescues her and the others from the ship. Because of the translator that the first aliens implanted in her neck, she's able to understand Craze. He's nice and isn't at all like the other aliens so she trusts him a bit.

She's given asylum on his planet where Craze tells her he will make sure she is safe and taken care of. Because these two spend so much time together, they end up having feelings for each other and while intimate, Craze brands her as his mate which she isn't sure exactly how she feels about at first. But she really likes him and things seem to be going well until his planet is attacked by the first aliens that abducted Misty. After a bit of a fight, Craze and Misty board a small ship to try and salvage the alien equipment to remove the tracker the other aliens put in her neck but they are again attacked by another ship. This attacker though, comes to a shock to Craze, he wasn't expecting to be attacked by this person.

They end up stranded on another alien planet where they meet the Mixims, a small, rodent-like creature who have psychic abilities. After scanning Misty's mind and coming to the conclusion that she will mean them no harm, the little creatures make themselves known and communicate with both her and Craze. The implanted translator helped with this so it's a good thing she had it. I have to say that the Mixims were probably one of the best parts of this book, I loved the small furry creatures. If you know me, I'm sure you are so shocked by this, right? *Sarcasm*

The Mixims are technologically advanced and are able to help Misty and Craze get back to his planet so they can deal with the betrayal that left them stranded on the planet in the first place.

This was such a fun read and the cast of characters were so interesting. Craze and Misty really made for a great couple. I had such a good time with this read.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Discliamer: I received this book for free from the authors website after signing up for her mailing list.

Apartment Life #284

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.

There have been so many military helicopters flying around lately but this one in particular was flying in circles about 2 streets from me for a while one morning.

I think it's a Blackhawk helicopter but I'm not completely sure. I'm used to seeing them fly by but when this one started flying in circles a couple of streets over, I took a picture.

The cars were in the way when the police showed up and arrested a methhead who was yelling at someone down the street. But you can see the flashing lights from the police car.

And I got a picture of the police car as it was leaving with the woman who was arrested.

---

I heard my neighbors dog having a complete meltdown. I was getting ready to call the police because I thought she might be hitting her dog again. Then I saw 2 Animal Control officers dragging the dog *Chop* out with 2 catch poles. And yes, you might remember that this same neighbor called animal control to come get this same dog a few months ago because the dog growled at her. *eyeroll*

So she called them again! I have no idea what for this time. Hopefully Animal Control has better sense than to let the husband come get the dog two days later like he did the last time and bring him home again. Maybe the dog will find a better home. These people should be barred from having any animals.
One of my other neighbors was outside yelling at the owner to at least come walk the dog to the truck so it wasn't having a meltdown but she didn't. Oh man, my other neighbor was mad that they called and had their dog taken away again.  She was outside telling anyone outside that the dogs owner is a piece of crap, on drugs and a b*tch. Oh she was mad. Not that I blame her, that was a messed up thing to do once, let alone twice.

----

On Sunday I was busy trying to find an Emergency Veterinarian Hospital open but the one I found charged $350 just to be seen. So I waited until Monday to call Falcor's regular Vet but they didn't have an opening for 2 weeks. They referred me to a different veterinary animal hospital and they were able to get me in on Tuesday morning at 8AM. Turns out Falcor had an infected anal gland and they cleaned him up, flushed the wound and sent me home with antibiotics, pain meds, anti inflammatory meds and some cream.  He should be good and all healed in 2 weeks.

The Veterinarian room.

But that's why I didn't have time to put together Happy Raturday or My Favorite Song this week. I've been getting very little sleep because Falcor wakes up and needs cuddles or is just not comfortable. Sometimes he wakes up and and walks around bumping into things with the cone.

Poor Falcor has to wear a cone for two weeks.

I bought a footless pajama for Falcor so he could have some relief from the cone for a while. Well, he outsmarted me by finding a way to stick his head up through the leg hole and get at his wound. He outsmarted me. lol He's cute though.

The high this week was 98F/36C
The low this week was 73F/22C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Your First Mistake Was To Threaten Me..

My daughter's ex bf left this threatening comment on my Tiktok video before I blocked him and reported this comment for harassment.  I want to warn people not to buy dogs from this guy, he's bad news.  He wants to breed dogs and sell puppies. Dude shouldn't have involved me at all because now this screenshot is being blasted all over social media. He goes by these names on social media. bigaaron-babybluebullies, bigaaron_, babybluebullies and brothaaharon. And he also has a facebook page where he shows his crazy. 12TN Israelite News & Community

You don't get to threaten to kill my dog and think I'll do nothing about it.

Update;

Since some of you have told me to call the police and make a report I googled what the law is about this and it said I could call animal control or the police to make a report since animal cruelty is against the law in every state. So I called animal control and he told me that I could make an incident report since I don't have this man's actual address or license plate number and the incident report would be on file in case anything escalated.

New Update:

My daughter's ex made a fake account on Tiktok because I blocked all the ones I knew about and he wanted to spy on my account. He saw the post I made about him threatening to kill my dog and he got mad and made a post on his account. My daughter saw it and sent me a screen shot. He's mad I called him out but not surprisingly he cropped out the part where I said he threatened to kill my dog and just left the part where I told my neighbor who he was also harassing on Tiktok about his other account names. Down in small letters in the description is says, "How can you be old and petty." And yes, I reported his account for harassment and reported the comment for harassment. But they just deleted the comment and let him keep his account.

New Update:

My daughter's ex is still making trouble/drama. On Tiktok my daughter and I are friends with our elderly neighbor named Dorothy and she has also been having problems with my daughter ex, Aaron. So when Dorothy made a comment on my daughters Tiktok video, Aaron decided it was a good idea to say, " And yo old ass need to go lay tf down" to my elderly neighbor. This isn't the first time he's said something like this to her either but he deleted his other comment. Oh and he refuses to leave my daughter alone. He keeps messaging her on different apps and if she blocks him he makes fake accounts and message's her again. So she's just letting him send her messages and she's screen shotting all of them in case things escalate and she needs to get the police involved.

The day after Aaron left that nasty comment on her comment my neighbor made this on Tiktok. If you can't read what it says, it says, " This is the same guy that's up here at three or four times this is the same man that you banned for messing with me now he's still doing it. "

Then at the bottom in the description it says, " Look and see who did you band for for this guy threaten it kills Mary dog this is the same guy tried to steal my car for real this is the same guy just called me some kind of old hag he have another page name Aaron you band the other one look and see who that you been"

Now I know what she wrote doesn't make a lot of sense but essentially, he was standing in front of her car one night and she thinks he was going to steal it and he's made other nasty remarks to her on Tiktok. He has a bunch of different accounts so if one gets banned, he has others to use to harass people.

Here's a new update:

3 days ago from today 7/28/2023 My daughter's ex was contacting her trying to get her back and she noticed this post on his fb page. He has a bully (female) and his roommate has a male pitbull and his female had a puppy. he bought his dog for the sole purpose of having and selling puppies (backyard breeder) so when my daughter saw this post she asked him why he was giving away the puppy that he was going to sell for money.

That's when he told her that his roommates dog bit the puppy and he didn't have money for a vet. She had no plans on getting back together with him but kept talking to him just long enough to get his new address so she could call Animal Control to go check on the puppy and make sure it was ok. Then she blocked him again. The thing is he just makes more fake accounts and messages her again. But once Animal Control went to his apartment, he wrote to her mad and he blocked her. So maybe he'll leave her alone now.

Then on Friday 7/28/23 an Animal Control officer came to our apartment to get some more information from my daughter about the incident but didn't tell her the outcome of their visit to his apartment. But at least they are investigating it and hopefully the puppy is alright. So yeah, here's a warning not to buy your puppies from this guy.

/
/And one of his Tiktok accounts was banned. Hmm, I wonder how that happened?

-----

Update: 9/16/2023

A few weeks ago my daughter got back together with him. Gave him another chance. Yes, I know it was a mistake. And a couple of days ago they got into another argument and he came to my apartment, ripped up a plant we had growing in the garden, threatened to slap my daughter, threatened to throw a chair through our living room window, and took our chairs we had sitting by our door and threw them in the dumpster. We know it was him because our neighbor's video camera caught him on video doing it. It's a little hard to see but first he pulls up the plant and then he takes the chairs to the dumpster. He tried to lie about it until my daughter sent him the video.

The plant/tree he uprooted out of our garden and left on the sidewalk.

So my daughter broke up with him again and called the police to make a report.

And since he did all this by our apartment and he brought this drama right to my door, I sent him a text.

"Aaron,
This is Mary,  Elizabeth's mom.
I've tried to stay out of the drama between you and my daughter even though you've tried to pull me in a few times,  but now you've brought the drama right to my door by pulling up our plant and putting our chairs into the garbage can. This is considered destruction of private property. In the past you threatened to kill my dog and now you threatened to hit my daughter and break my apartment window.
This text message serves as notice to not contact my daughter or myself ever again,  not to come to my door and not to touch anything that belongs to me or my daughter. Any further contact will be considered harassment and I will call the police to press charges. If anything happens to me,  my daughter,  my dog,  my apartment or my belongings,  yours is the first name I will give to the police because no one else has beef with us. This is the only warning you will get,  next time the police will be involved by me."

Hopefully this is the end of this but if not, I'll post more updates.

This week I received:

3 pouches of cat food.
Erborian CC Water color Corrector.

I gave the cat food to my neighbor who has a cat.
I tried the Erborian color corrector under my eyes and it did work kinda like a concealer to hide dark circles.

Did you receive any freebies this week?

Book Review: Cloudy with a Chance of Witchcraft by Mandy M Roth

Book Description

When it rains, it pours...and sometimes love finds you even when you can’t find yourself.

Fate has given me a second chance at the happiness I once knew in the odd Southern town of Grimm Cove. But only if I can come to terms with some rather eye-opening revelations. Supernaturals are a real thing. I'm a witch. My high school sweetheart, who happens to be the Chief of Police in Grimm Cove, is my fated mate and a wolf-shifter. Ghosts exist and can be very nosy and meddlesome. Someone is murdering witches left and right. And last but not least, my ex-husband's barely legal arm candy is taking fatal attraction to new levels of Hell.

I'm no shrinking violet, and with the help of my best friends, I'm going to live life on my terms--come Hell, high water, or magikal mishaps.

My Review

Poppy gets the shock of her life when her husband of 20 years tells her he wants a divorce and he's already moving on with his much younger girlfriend. After she gets over that shock and finally settles the divorce, she moves to Grimm Cove where her grandparents had left her a house.

Brett is a wolf shifter, he was Poppy's first love but he broke her heart and to make matter worse he wrote her a letter telling her he never wanted to see her again. So she moved on with her now ex husband. But Brett never stopped looking out for her.

When Poppy has a small accident on her way into Grimm Cove, the first person she runs into is Brett but she can barely believe that this muscular hunk is her first love. He is shocked that she is divorced and moving back into her grandparents house and because he wants to make sure he doesn't mess up a second chance with her, he let's her know he didn't mean anything that he said in the letter he wrote her all those years ago. He can't explain more right away because telling her that he's a wolf shifter might be a little much right away.

Poppy enlisted the help of her two best friends who just happen to be a little more than they appear to be as well. But the entire town of Grimm Cove is pretty much some kind of Supernatural and she fits right in as she finds out she's a witch. We can't forget the ghosts that also make themselves know along the way. That was fun.

When weird things start happening and she has to start believing in magic and supernaturals, things start to make more sense to her. But there's more shocking news from her now ex husband when he calls to warn her about danger she might be in. It was so sweet to watch Brett and Poppy get to know each other again, fall for each other and finally have all the secrets between them come out.

Poppy's friends are great so it was fun watching them interact with some of Brett's friends. I see more relationships forming in the future. This book ended pretty fast with everything wrapping up within a few pages at the end but the story was great.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
