Book Review: The Dragon and the Singer (Made for Each Other: The Dragon Shifters Book 1) by Renee Carr

Book Description

A dragon king. An aspiring singer. A vicious murderer.

Nathan, the Dragon King, knows he bears great responsibilities, but none are as important as maintaining the peace between dragons and werewolves. Unfortunately for him, one dragon has gone rogue and, if not stopped soon, his murderous rampage will ignite a war.

Ivy dreams of finally making it big, but the most significant moment of the singer’s life may be the night she meets Nathan. Little does she know their mutual attraction will be the least complicated part of their courtship.

When she’s threatened by another dragon, Nathan is convinced it’s the murderer. Now, he has even more reason to root him out and stop the carnage once and for all.

Will the Dragon King prevent a war and also protect the woman he loves?

A sexy fated mates shifter story, set in another world, along with a mystery!
This is a standalone story with no cliffhanger!

My Review

Nathan lives on another planet but comes to Earth at times. Humans don't know about the aliens that visit here and his people want to keep it that way. Nathan is a dragon shifter and the king of his people after his brother who had been the king, died.

Ivy is a singer hoping to make it big one day but for now she plays gigs in places that pay her. Nathan meets Ivy and finds himself drawn to her so he asks her out and she agrees. They only go on a couple of dates before all hell breaks loose for both of them.

There's a rogue dragon shifter that has been killing werewolves and in order to stop a war between his people and the wolves, Nathan will have to figure out who the killer is. But before he can make any headway in that case, the killer targets Ivy and it's only her quick thinking that saves her from being killed as well.

I wasn't sure how Ivy was going to react when Nathan tells her what he is and where he's from but she takes it better than some might think. Poor Nathan has a lot of his plate with a killer on the loose, his sister in law being very sick and trying to look out for her as well as finding Ivy who might be his mate and trying to tell her who and what he is and what she means to him. It's a lot.

I give this book 3 out of 5 stars.
