Send A Bag Of Poop To A Bad Neighbor

No, I'm not off my medication and yes, you did read the title right. There is a wwebsite called Poopsenders where you can order *are you ready for this* a quart or gallon of cow poop, Elephant poop or Gorilla poop and they will anonymously send it to anyone you want!

You just can't make this stuff up! Go to the Poopsenders website to see for yourself.

Do you have a hateful neighbor that never picks up his dog shat and you want to send him a message? I think this might be the website for you.

How about a brother who is a big douche? Yeah, I think we all have a family member that fits that bill, now don't we?

So send them a gallon of gorilla crap and let them know *anonymously of course* that someone out there thinks they are full of crap, or that they stink, or that someone thinks all they deserve is a large, smelly bag of poop.

Heck if I could buy an entire dump truck full of this stuff and bury a certain person up to their armpits in it...I would. I like to give things and this is one of those things I would happily give.

so do you think this is a good or bad idea? Would you do it?

Weekly Rat Facts: Cost

Each week I'll being making a "Weekly Rat Fact" where I'll give you advice about what you should know before owning a pet rat. I think rats make great pets but unless you have the time, money, space, patience and know what they need in advance of getting them, I don't advocate adopting a pet rat until you do.

As with any pet, rats do cost money each month in order to keep them happy and in good health, I spend anywhere between $40-$80 a month on my 3 boys and that's just for food, treats, cage accessories and extra fresh foods like fruits and vegetables.

That cost goes way up if they get sick and you have to take them to the vet. I had to take one of my boys to the vet and have him put to sleep a few years ago and it cost me $80 and most vets won't let you set up a payment plan. It's either you pay at the time or they won't see you.

I have a credit card that I use specifically for any emergencies for my rats. It doesn't get used for anything else. If your rat gets a tumor and you want to have it surgically removed that can cost anywhere between $200-$300.

Before adopting a rat most people think they only thing they need to buy is a cage, bedding, food and some toys. While those are necessities you also need to think about what you'll need if your rat gets sick, gets mites or lice or an abscess.

List of things that should be in your ratty first aid kit: (Instructions on how to use these things will be below)
Neosporin with pain relief  $8.00 (this can be applied to small wounds, cuts and abscesses.)

Revolution for cats $17.95 (One drop of this on the back of your rat will get rid of lice and mites)
Aquatic Amoxicillan $8.99 (Needed for upper respiratory infections)

Hydrogen Peroxide (for cleaning wounds)
Q-Tips and cotton balls  (for swabbing minor wounds)
Eye dropper (for flushing abscesses)
Small diabetic needle (can be given to you by a vet for treatment of dehydration)

Instructions for Diluting and Giving Medications
Most pet stores don't carry medications for rats so we rat owners have found out that medications for other animals work quite well for out furry little friends if used the right way.

Revolution for cats- it has to be the version for cats because the version for dogs is stronger and can harm the rats instead of getting rid of the lice or mites. You put one drop of the revolution liquid on your adult rats back, between their shoulder blades and then you distract them so they don't clean it or lick it off, until it is dry, one treatment should get rid of all the rat mites or lice they have.

Aquatic Amoxicillin- Mix 5ml of water with a 250mg capsule. That would make 10mg for every .20ml of water. You should give a sick rat 10 milligrams per lb of rat of amoxicillin per day for 14 days.

You would need small diabetic needles which you can get from your vet if your rat gets sick and needs fluids but they won't drink. You would have to give your rat a subcutaneous injection of saline.

There are other costs as well, like hammocks, food bowls, fleece to line the cages with, toys, beds and wheels. I buy new fleece hammocks and bunkers every couple of months because my boys chew them to shreds. I also have to routinely replace the fleece blankets I use as bedding because they chew holes in them.

So as you can see there's a lot more to having pet rats than just buying a cage, bedding and food. As with any pet, if you're not willing to take them to a veterinarian when they get sick...don't adopt an animal.

It's Been Two Years...

It's been two years since my mom passed away. I thought that the pain would subside over time but it doesn't really seem to. Still feels like yesterday.

Think about you daily and wish you were here with me.

I Can Finally Spill The Beans!

Back on March 22nd...I won a Kindle Fire 7! I won it from joining in a chat discussion on Discover A New Love and as you can see in the picture or by clicking the link...I won the big prize that day.

It came in the mail just a few days later...Thank you so much Grace Burrowes and Discover A New Love. Now the reason I kept it a secret for so long is because I gave the Kindle to my daughter for her birthday a few days ago and I had to wait until I did that before I said anything about winning it. My daughter has been wanting one for a long time and I couldn't have won this at a better time.

My daughter got a Kindle fire for her birthday!

She could hardly believe it. lol

I think this is one of the biggest prizes I've won from a blog contest. Just goes to show that all those hours entering contests and giveaways really does pay off. I win stuff all the time.

Do Rats Get Diabetes?

A friend of mine had been telling us about her rat who has diabetes and she updated our rat group about what she was doing to get him better and keep his diabetes under control. I figured most people probably didn't realize that rats just like humans and other animals could get diabetes so I asked her if she would be willing to be interviewed by me for an article. She agreed and that article is now live. Above is a picture of her rat, Boo who has diabetes.

Interview with a Rat Enthusiast: What Do I Do when My Rat Has Diabetes?

I love this picture of Boo, how sweet is that?

Paula Deen Fired?

She said it's been a long time since she used the "N" word. I really think people are making a bit too much a deal over this. I have to say I'm a little surprised by this. This all came about because...

She never said that she uses that word now or anytime recently. The fact that she answered the questions truthfully should say something about her character. She could have lied about it.

Taken from:

http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/19/showbiz/paula-deen-racial-slur
And
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/21/paula-deen-fired-food-network-cancels-show-after-racism-scandal_n_3480517.html

"Court records show Deen sat down for a deposition May 17 in a discrimination lawsuit filed last year by a former employee who managed Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House, a Savannah restaurant owned by Deen and her brother, Bubba Hiers. The ex-employee, Lisa Jackson, says she was sexually harassed and worked in a hostile environment rife with innuendo and racial slurs.

During the deposition, Deen was peppered with questions about her racial attitudes. At one point she's asked if she thinks jokes using the N-word are "mean." Deen says jokes often target minority groups and "I can't, myself, determine what offends another person."

And from another article...

The language in question was revealed recently as part of a deposition of Deen by Jackson's lawyers in May.

Jackson lawyer: "Miss Deen, have you told racial jokes?"

Deen: "No, not racial."

Jackson lawyer: "Have you ever used the 'N word' yourself?"

Deen: "Yes, of course."

Deen testified that she probably used the racial slur when talking to her husband about "when a black man burst into the bank that I was working at and put a gun to my head."

"I didn't feel real favorable towards him," she said, referring to the robber.

Jackson lawyer: "Have you used it since then?"

Deen: "I'm sure I have, but it's been a very long time."

Deen said she couldn't remember other contexts in which she used the slur, but "maybe in repeating something that was said to me."

"But that's just not a word that we use as time has gone on," she said. "Things have changed since the '60s in the South. And my children and my brother object to that word being used in any cruel or mean behavior."

New Cube In Lucky's Cage

I bought a new fleece cube for Lucky's cage and put it in today.

He has a bunker hammock that he lays in sometimes so I thought he would like this as well.

They look comfy, right?

Lucky was not impressed.

He laid in it for about 5 seconds..and then...

He started chewing the heck out of it. In 5 minutes flat there were huge holes in it. Maybe he'll like it better after he's done redecorating it?

Nevada Soon Will Have Legal Marijuana Dispensaries

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The only good thing about this bill is that it's going to be more regulated. So weed smokers are still going to go to jail if they smoke and drive or smoke and drive and cause injuries because they are high. And let me just predict how this is going to happen, mmmkay?

You know damn well that the pot heads are going to be smoking and driving and causing accidents..hopefully they get the book thrown at them for doing so. And the fact that people can only grow their own until 2016...isn't going to stop them from growing and the pot heads are going to mumble and grumble and complain about this left and right.

Taken from... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/13/nevada-medical-marijuana_n_3433806.html

CARSON CITY, Nev. -- After 13 years of waiting, medical marijuana patients in Nevada will soon have a legal way to obtain the drug without growing it themselves.

Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval signed SB374 into law Wednesday evening. The measure establishes the framework to make pot available to medical marijuana card holders, and imposes fees and requirements for growers, processors and dispensaries. It also contains provisions to continue to allow home-growing until 2016.

The tax revenue created will first fund the regulation of the dispensaries. Any remaining revenue will be funneled to education.

According to the National Conference on State Legislatures, Nevada is the 14th state to legalize medical marijuana dispensaries, and one of 19 states to allow medicinal pot, along with the District of Columbia.

But as you can see...he's doing fine. lol Posing for the camera and smiling.

The surgeon went in from the side and fused two discs together. Hopefully this will stop his back pain.
He's home now and doing fine.

Pasta Bake Recipe

I make a pasta dinner at least 2 times a month because my hubby really likes pasta and meat. This time I decided to ass a little something extra to it and then bake it.

What you'll need:
4 cups cooked pasta of your choice. I used curly pasta.
2 lbs hamburger meat, cooked and drained.
1/2 diced bell pepper and 1/2 dicer yellow onion diced
1 jar of pasta sauce. I used Ragu.
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.

In saute pan, saute onion and bell pepper for 5 minutes or until they are softened.
Add all ingredients except for cheese into a large pot and stir together until mixed then transfer into a baking dish.

I used this one.

You can add a little of the cheese to the middle of the mixture or you can add all of it on top and then bake. I added a little to the middle and topped with the rest of the mixture and then added the other half of the cheese.

Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and serve.

It was a big hit and good as left overs.

Conspiracy Theorists

One of the biggest conspiracy theories out there right now is how the government has patents on marijuana and they KNOW for a fact that is cures cancer but they don't want the general population to know this because there's big money in big pharma while they are trying to come up with cures for diseases.

I can't even put into words all of the lies being spread about marijuana right now. The conspiracy theories are flying right now about pot curing cancer, pot curing Crohn's disease, and how the government knows all this but won't tell us.

Great googly moogly man, some might call me a sheep, sheeple, or a follower for believing that tried and tested drugs like radiation, chemo and the other drugs they use to treat cancer actually work. My own mother had cancer and she smoked pot and no I didn't agree with what she did. The pot didn't cure her cancer..in fact because he cancer was in her throat, I think it actually had a lot to do with her getting throat cancer along with the cigarettes she smoked. She had surgery and then radiation to get rid of her cancer. If she had relied on marijuana to cure her, I'm sure she would ahve died a long time before she did.

Baby Carrots Are Bad For You
Really? This is what the conspiracy theorists are saying... Manufactured 'baby' carrots are the result of taking all the big ugly and broken carrots they can't put in the package, and grinding them down and processing them into 'baby carrots' and then giving them a bath in chlorine to make them a bright happy orange color.

My Take: Taken from an article on From digital Journal. Is this dangerous? No. Chlorination is a well-known and well-tested way to disinfect food products. Our tap water is chlorinated as well. I would nevertheless like to issue a warning. When you disinfect something, that means that you kill the bacteria that are present. Chlorine kills bacteria. It can also kill us, or be very bad for us. The bleach you use to clean and disinfect your toilet, contains chlorine. Do not drink it. This will kill you because it is far more concentrated than we can safely ingest. The chlorine in your tap water and in your baby-carrots, presents no danger whatsoever. It is precisely to make the carrots safe that the chlorine is used.

Just read the article in the link I posted.. it's not as bad as the conspiracy theorists want you to believe.

Contrails in the Sky
We have been seeing these white cloud like contrails from jets for as long as I can remember and even before I was born. But some people think that the amount of trails that appeared in the sky are the result of aerosol spraying. That they are not trails made up of ice crystals because they don't spread out they way they think they should. There are people out there that believe these contrails are a result of a heavy a metal namely Aluminum as well as other toxic ingredients...this is what is called "Geoengineering".

Frankly it amazes me what some people come up with when they are looking for conspiracies around every corner.

Lucky Has A New Cage!

This is the cage that Lucky used to be in. The bottom part is hard plastic and he chewed holes almost large enough to get his head in, in each of the four corners.

It wasn't a bad cage for 1 rat, but now he has more room.

This is the new cage and it's only about 1 inch smaller in length but it is much higher. It has three shelves where he can climb up to get to the bunker hammock and I plan on putting a small fleece cube on the top shelf. The best part is, the bottom pan is metal. He won't be chewing through that. lol

I didn't like that the shelves were wire and he wouldn't leave the fleece alone when I tried to just lay the fleece on top of the shelf, so I used these clips to hold the fleece in place.

The ladders were also wire and so I bought some men's knee socks and covered the ladders with that as well. Easier on their little feet.

I think he approves...

Fee's and Taxes for Using Medical Marijuana

Massachusetts: Medical Marijuana Patients Would Pay $50, Dispensaries $50,000 Annual Fee Under Plan

Taken from this website

Dispensary Licenses Would Cost $50,000 A Year Under Department of Health Plan
By Steve Elliott
Hemp News
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is proposing to charge medical marijuana patients $50 a year, and dispensaries an annual fee of $50,000.

Patients with a "verified financial hardship" would be allowed to request a waiver of the registration fee, subject to review and approval by the state health department, reports Kay Lazar of the Boston Globe.
Patients who qualify for a hardship license to cultivate (most patients won't be allowed to grow at home; all except those who are mobility challenged will be required to buy from dispensaries) would have to pay an additional $100 fee for the privilege, reports WCVB.

The proposed rules call for marijuana dispensaries to pay an initial $1,500 application fee, followed by a $30,000 charge for the second phase of the licensing process; both fees are nonrefundable, even if the application is denied.

Licensed dispensaries will then be required to pay an annual fee of $50,000. Dispensaries would also be required to pay a $500 annual registration fee for each of their employees.

The fees are supposed to create a "fee structure for a self-financed medical marijuana industry that supports patient access without relying on taxpayer resources," according to the state.

The law is designed to be "revenue neutral," reports Dan Ring of The Republican, meaning fees -- not tax dollars -- are supposed to pay for all costs to the state, including oversight and regulation, the health department said.

"The proposed patient registration fees are in line with other states and will be affordable," claimed acting state health commissioner Cheryl Bartlett. "At the same time, dispensaries will be required to pay their fair share."

The department said it would use the fees to hire staff and train inspectors to monitor dispensaries and cultivation sites.

On May 8, the Public Health Council approved regulations for the cultivation and dispensing of medical marijuana, and the registration of patients.

The law, approved by Massachusetts voters last November, allows for up to 35 dispensaries across the state to provide cannabis to registered patients suffering from qualifying medical conditions.

Dispensaries will set the prices that patients will pay for medical marijuana. The department of health will not regulate those prices. The shops, however, will have to come up with a plan for offering medicinal cannabis at no or reduced cost for some low-income patients.

Dispensaries could be licensed by the end of this year, and some of the shops might open early next year, according to Masslive.com.

Under the law, patients with certain "debilitating medical conditions" including cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS or "other conditions" determined by a doctor can get a medical marijuana card and possess up to a 60-day supply of medicinal cannabis, defined under the law as 10 ounces.

A public hearing on the proposed fees is scheduled for Friday, June 14 at 1 p.m., at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health offices at 250 Washington Street in Boston.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have some friends on fb that are all about getting marijuana passed as a legal drug that everyone can use. I happen to be totally opposite in that I think it shouldn't be available for anyone unless they are terminally ill and if they do get it which it looks like most people who want it will be able to..they should have to pay just as many taxes as anyone else buying it. You don't get a break just because you have a medcial marijuana card..that's ridiculous.

A friend of mine posted this article and is mad because she said that medical marijuana card holders already pay enough money just to have their cards that the government should be taxing the social user all these taxes and fee's not the medical user.

I totally disagree with that. First off, the medical marijuana system is a totally, laughable, dirty corrupt system because anyone can get a medical marijuana card by saying they need it for anxiety, back pain, or depression. Those things can't really be proven one way or another and so in most places you pay a doctor a cash fee..in some places like here it's anywhere from $250.00- $500.00 and they give you the paperwork and a card that says you 'need' the medical marijuana for something as ridiculous as headaches or anxiety.

Unless you are terminally ill, you shouldn't be getting this and even then I don't see it helping more than let's say, Morphine would.

Yes, I'm against the use the medical marijuana and I won't apologize for it.

Introducing Bandit to My Grandson

Bandit was more than happy to give Logan kisses and cuddle with him.

Logan was more interested in what I was doing with the camera. lol

We made sure both of them were being held securely so no one got hurt...mostly Bandit. Logan has a pretty strong grip so we made sure he didn't get a hold of poor Bandit and squeeze him or anything but Logan wasn't really interested.

Until he finally saw the little furry creature moving..then he kept looking at him and smiling.

Grandpa held his hand and let him pet Bandit while my daughter held Bandit. Bandit just wanted to give kisses.

Their first meeting went very well.
