Apartment Life! #4

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that happen in and around my apartment complex here in a weekly blog post.

This week I'm going to show you a couple of the strange things I've seen.

That's a bouncy house in my courtyard. There are 16 apartments in this courtyard and the mother set this up every day for a month. The kids were crazy loud and to me this was just rude as hell. You don't do stuff like this right in front of other people's doors. After people complained to the manager a lot, it was finally taken down and not set up again.

Then there was the guy who set up a tent in front of his apartment door. He and his 3 dogs slept out there a couple of nights. I have no idea why. Maybe he wanted to go camping.

Then there was the time that a little bunny hopped over to Ken while he was standing in the alley. We would have kept him because he was super sweet but my daughter was very allergic to him. So we found him a home with a couple who had other rabbits and had big rabbit hutches set up for them in their back yard. Ken said the rabbits were running around in their back yard and then at night they were put in the hutches to keep them safe and so sleep.

We loved the bunny, especially my daughter because he always wanted to be held but she was so allergic. Poor thing.

We don't have a lot of tree's around here besides the Pine tree's since we live in the desert but on the bike path that is right next door to my apartment complex there are some metal tree's. lol

That's my apartment complex and the bike path from the previous picture is literally 5 feet to the left in this picture.

So a few years ago I was out taking the dog for a walk and saw these two guys pulling a fully loaded shopping cart up the bike path. One guy has a bicycle hooked to the front of it and is trying to pull it along.

Most of those bags on the cart are filled with cans and he stopped along the bike path, emptied out a bunch of the bags and stomped on them and put them back in the bags so that the bags are smaller. We found out later that they are room mates and lived in the apartment complex down the street from us. They were taking the cans down to the recycling center. I hope they got a good chunk of money for all their work.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! But come back next week for more.

  1. Yeah, the bouncy is pretty nervy to do for a whole month. But the tent, what a crack up. If he had a wife or partner I'd say its his version of being in the dog house. LOL
    Cute bunny.
Oh! I remember those funky metal trees from one of your picture of the weeks. What a hoot and yet, clever in a way.

  4. In SC reycle centers pay nothing. You can get some from metal places. A few big bag of cans crushed, might get you $15-20 at most though.

  5. I'm always amazed at how oblivious some people are to others around them. That bouncy house is nuts. I'm surprised you haven't had to put up with a trampoline. They are very popular with the big family Mormons!

    1. The bouncy house would have been fine if the kids and parents hadn't been screaming inside it.

  14. I am always surprised by things neighbors do. I would not have been a fan of the bouncy house. I have a neighbor that goes out on trash day looking for cans and I have to wonder if it is really worth the effort. Maybe so?

  15. Loud people can be annoying, especially when the houses are so close together.

Maybe that person wanted to try out his new tent, that's kinda funny tough.

That's too bad your daughter was allergic for the bunny, but that's great you found a new house for the bunny.

I kinda like those metal trees, it does add some color.

There sure seems to be a lot of things happening around your apartment complex.
