Apartment Life #300
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 24 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.
I happened to be in my bedroom on Tuesday when I spotted 2 police cars sitting in the street talking to each other. They didn't stop and get out but I have been seeing a lot of police cars patrolling around here a lot lately. Maybe it will cut down on crimes around here but maybe not.
----
I noticed that there were gunshots in one of the garbage cans in our alley. I don't know if this is from the last gunshots that happened around here or one of the other times I heard gunshots. But those are definitely bullet holes.
---
My daughter catches the bus very near our apartment complex. On Thursday while she was sitting at the bus stop she noticed a woman crawling on the sidewalk and into the grass across the street from her. She took a little video. It was pretty apparent that the woman was on drugs. My daughter said she was yelling and crawling around for a while.
---
This is also my 300th Apartment Life post. I'm actually surprised that so much stuff goes on around here for me to post about each week.
The high this week was 84F/28C
The low this week was 39F/3C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

300 is quite a milestone although I wish you had a little less drama in your life! And I do hope the police presence cuts down on some of the craziness you have to put up with.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
I hope so too. This neighborhood is just insane.
DeleteI am echoing Greg's comment today. Less drama would be lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes it would.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteHappy 300th post-day to your Apartment Life feature, dear friend! "Never a dull moment," as they say.
It would be comforting to know that those cops were discussing a plan of attack to reduce crime in your area, but they might just as easily have been comparing plans for Easter.
It would not be comforting to see gunshot holes blasted in the neighborhood trash dumpster. Sad to see that woman crawling on hands and knees while cars whiz by.
"...and the beat goes on."
Have a happy Easter and a safe week, dear friend Mary! (Please give my buddy Falcor some ham.)
Happy Easter to you as well.
DeleteI was surprised to see the bullet holes in the dumpster. Hopefully it's a quiet week but I won't count on it.
A lot less drama! You see more in a week than I do in my neighborhood in a year.
ReplyDeleteI hear that a lot.
DeleteWow, that woman crawling around reminds me of a few dudes I saw taking a nap in a park nearby. You can find the rare gun casing in Minneapolis. It's sad. What's sadder is seeing advertisement for gun shows.
ReplyDeleteI see that kind of thing on tiktok a lot too. There's a lot of gun shows out here too.
DeleteOh dear lord! That is crazy. Did you ever find out what happened last week? Glad you are staying safe.
ReplyDeleteYeah the police were looking for someone but they didn't find them. I don't know who.
Delete300? I don’t remember you doing it that long! Happy Easter, Mary.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy that I have 300 posts.
DeleteThis is why drugs are bad... you'll end up on your knees crawling around outside out of her mind. It's so sad.
ReplyDeleteit is.
DeleteYes, more regular patrols would be a good thing!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteIt is sad what drugs can reduce you to. She was looking for something? At least she wasn't digging in her skin trying to pick off imaginary bugs.
ReplyDeleteYou do have a lot of action where you live. We got crime too with drugs. We had five kids whose surnames were from prominent families in the area who were arrested for a drive by shooting that killed an innocent 8 year old. I'm sure drugs and debts and access to a gun fueled these 19 year olds. Sad.
Drugs play a lot into shootings and other crimes.
DeleteSad to see the nwoman crawling around. It's amazing what some people do to themselves. Have a great week and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI will try.
DeleteHope they won't have a busy Easter Sunday at your police.
ReplyDeleteSo far it's been quiet.
DeleteI hope the patrolling does some good...Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. Happy easter to you as well.
DeleteLet me be honest . I was scared to see the video . I dint open and see .
ReplyDeleteIt's just a lady crawling on the sidewalk.
DeleteIt's crazy how much stuff happens around your neighborhood...and a little sad, too. Hope you have a Happy Easter! :D
ReplyDeleteIt is. Too much stuff. Happy Easter to you as well.
DeleteI don't know how you do it. Happy Easter!

Happy Easter
DeleteThere is always something going on!
ReplyDeleteWell done on your 300th Apartment Life post.
All the best Jan
PS Happy Easter Wishes
Happy easter.
DeleteThe woman crawling in the grass might be related to our Karen character.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny.
DeleteCongrats on 300 posts!! you live such an exciting life, mine is so boring in comparison.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Boring is good.
DeleteLiving in North Idaho. We also here quite bit of gun fire.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
It can be bad any where.
DeleteYou certainly see a side of America not usually shown on TV over here. (Can't remember the last time I even saw a policeman) It's interesting to read your posts but would be better for you if there wasn't so much to report! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. Maybe this week will be quiet.
DeleteIf she's crawling on the sidewalk and crawling into the grass, she must be pretty far gone on something or other. How do people get into that state?
ReplyDeleteDrugs will really mess you up.
DeleteHopefully it would cut down on some
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure it is.
DeleteHopefully the police being around more will cut down on the crime you've been seeing. Let's hope your apartment life posts get a lot less crazy! :-)
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I will hope so but I doubt it.
DeleteI hope the police presence helps. Congrats on your 300th Apartment Life post!
ReplyDeleteThank you and I hope so too.
Delete300 should get you an award for even living through all that craziness each week!
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice. lol
DeleteYikes, the bullet holes are scary. Wow, the fact that you've had enough happen to make 300 apartment life posts is definitely saying something lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's hard to believe.
DeleteFingers crossed that the extra police presence works! 👮
ReplyDeleteHaopefully.
DeleteIt would be nice if the police can come around enough to cut some of the crime.
ReplyDeleteThey only drive around on the street. They would have to go into the alley and get out and come into the courtyards as well but I don't see them doing that.
