Apartment Life #344

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 25 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.

My picture isn't great because my phone camera sucks but that is a Marshall's car in front and the van that takes the homeless people to the shelters behind it. There was a guy making a camp to the right of the van near a big rock that you can't see. I am guessing they asked him if he wanted to go to the shelter and he said no. I walked by him at one point while he was there and he had a big cast iron pot that he had a small fire pit in and a metal grate on top and was cooking some steaks on it for him and another guy that was sitting there.

---

Monday night about 9PM I was outside with Falcor and I ran into one of the people that go down to drug dealers apartment. She looked freaked out so I asked her if she was okay and she said she was by drug dealers car and some guy in a hoodie came up real close to her pulled up his his shirt and showed her the gun he had in his waistband and then he walked off without saying a word. And she had been standing there for a few minutes just freaked out so I asked her if she wanted me to walk her back over to drug dealers apartment since we both live in the same building and she said yeah because she was scared. She looked it too, she looked like she was scared and freaked out.

----

Oh and drug dealer is not getting evicted. My neighbor who talks to his wife said management accepted their rent and they aren't getting evicted. They owed some back rent and money for replacing the back window that they didn't want to pay. So management would only accept their rent if they paid everything in full which they did. So they are staying here.

The high this week was 57F/13C
The low this week was 38F/3C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. I find myself a bit sad that the drug dealer and his wife are staying on. I don't think they add anything positive to the complex.

  2. Hi, Mary!

Happy Sunday, dear friend! Well, at least it wasn't an explosive week in your neighborhood this time. With the overnight temp in Vegas now plunging into the 30s, It amazes me how most of the homeless decline to hop in the van and go to a warm shelter. I know you are going to tell me it's because they aren't allowed to do drugs there. It's sad that chronic drug use is an integral part of their daily lives.

Hooray... the drug dealer is staying on your block! At least I hope he has given up on the notion of making your daughter his future bride. Clearly, management doesn't care that drug money was used to pay his back rent and replace the window. You were brave and conscientious to escort the freaked-out woman back to the relative safety and security of the drug dealer's pad. Did I just write that?

I hope my buddy Falcor is feeling AOK these days. Have a wonderful week ahead, dear friend Mary!

  5. You're too kind. I don't think I would have felt like helping the drug dealer's customer...

  10. ' not getting evicted'? - oh that's not good. The owners think only of the money; nothing else interests them.

    1. This is an open carry state so many people walk around with guns on their hips but they shouldn't be doing what he did.

  18. Looks like Drug Dealer is going to be a permanent fixture around there. So sorry, and one would think having a gun shown while outside drug dealer's door would cure her of going to his door. With or without an escort.

I love that the two homeless men were cooking steak. They ate well that day.
