Saturday Vittles
My Daughter and I are trying to eat more healthy so I thought I would share some pictures on Saturday's of what we've made. Most pictures are from my daughter since she takes good food pics. lol
We had bunless hamburgers and homemade Jalapeno poppers.
We used 1/2 lb of lean hamburger, lettuce, tomato and pickles for the hamburgers. My daughter added Chick-fil-a sauce to hers, I did not. Instead of a bun we used lettuce leaves to wrap the hamburger, pickles and tomato in.
For the Jalapeno poppers. We boiled 3 whole jalapenos for 5 minutes, cut off the ends, scooped the seeds out and cut eat jalapeno in half. Then we added a little cream cheese to the inside of each jalapeno and wrapped each half in 1 slice of bacon. We tossed those into the air fryer until the bacon was done, about 10 minutes. Oh man those were good.
And yes my daughter had a Chelada with hers, I don't drink so I just had a Coke Zero.
For this it was about 400 calories and 10 carbs.

Well done. I am glad you enjoyed it too.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteA delicious and healthy meal! Bunless burgers wrapped in lettuce are such a great low-carb alternative, and those jalapeƱo poppers sound like the perfect crispy, creamy treat. I love how your daughter’s food photography really captures the flavours and makes everything look so appetising.

DeleteThose poppers look good! We make them once in a while, but we put duck on them as well. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had duck in years. The poppers were so good. We'll definitely be doing that again.
DeleteLike a gyro. Make it ground chicken or turkey and I would eat that.
ReplyDeleteYou could definitely do that.
DeleteNow you've made me hungry :-)
ReplyDeletelol Go eat something. Like a jalapeno popper.
DeleteYou had my a homemade jalapeno poppers! They're one of my favorite things to eat. š¤¤
ReplyDeleteOh man they were so good.
DeleteWould have been a healthy version if you left out the burger and kept the bun LOL
ReplyDeleteNot for me. I'm diabetic and can't eat all that bread. It would have spiked my blood sugar.
DeleteYou can always make some of my flax and oats buns that actually lower sugar not spike it. Corn and wheat flour spike it, oats and buckwheat lower it and keep it balanced. I had a recipe over at Facebook.
DeleteOats do spike my blood sugar. I've tried eating oatmeal recently for breakfast because eggs are so high priced but they have too many carbs in them for me to eat.
DeleteI love jalapeno poppers.
ReplyDeleteI do too. They were so good.
