Join me and let's find out what happens.
My Review
Rosalind and a few other human women are kidnapped from Earth by the Slythinians and sold to other aliens. Haakon is the King's brother so he is sent to take care of Rosalind and make her comfortable. When Haakon meets her he knows right away that she is his soulmate. The whole soulmate thing is not explained very well so I don't know what all it entails. But these aliens buy more kidnapped human females because they are compatible with them to find their soulmates.
The storyline was good and this could have been great but I didn't feel a real connection between these two for most of the book. Rosalind starts to have feelings for Haakon who is a Drogon (think dragon shifter) and she asks him if he's her soulmate but he doesn't give her a straight answer which makes her leery of him after all she's been through after being kidnapped.
The other thing that didn't make sense was after the very rushed ending, then we go back to what should have been in the middle of the book when Rosalind and the other women are on the kidnappers ship before she meets Haakon. That would have made more sense for that to be in the middle of the book as it was happening instead of at the end after the ending. I felt like I was reading chapters of this book out of order.
I give this book 2 out of 5 stars.

Oh dear, sounds like this book was a waste of time.
ReplyDeleteJust about.
DeleteThis is definitely not my literary genre.
ReplyDeleteSomeone didn't proofread this book before it was published, by the sound of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess. Out of order only works if there's a specific reason to take the story out of order. This sounds like a book that needs to cook a little longer (what I call it when the writer needed a bit more skill to pull of the story they were writing).
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could get past a race called Slythinians because it's too close to Slytherins. Just a bunch of Draco Malfoys out there.
ReplyDeleteSorry this wasn't good.
ReplyDeleteDang, you are back in the 2 territory again. Better luck next time!
ReplyDeleteAlien slavers and dragon shifters? That's a wild combination. It sounds like the book had potential, but the execution fell short. I hate it when that happens. Thanks for this honest review.
ReplyDeleteThat's weird about the ending feeling like it should have been in the middle.
ReplyDeleteDrogon? How very inventive LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds confusing, like it could have used an editor.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad you came across another stinker.
ReplyDeleteThe premise reminds me of Ice Planet Barbarians! Too bad this one wasn't a hit.
