Review: Rag Doll by Rebecca Scarberry
Book Blurb
Rag Doll is a short but very impressive story about a young father finding himself trapped in evidence against him and quite possibly framed for the murder of his girlfriend. A story that starts with blood and gore, part psychological thriller, and part reflection by our protagonist on his life in prison. This is a cleverly plotted story and intriguingly told as it unfolds in front of your eyes. In order to understand the twisted ending, readers must not skip a word.
My Review
Anyone who has been reading my blog for long knows that I will read a lot of different genre's but my go to genre is romance, so this is a little different for me. About a month ago I was up late and couldn't sleep so I was playing on Twitter. I started talking to a lady *The author of the book* who was up late too. And she told me that she had two free ebooks available on Amazon if I was interested. She told me that Rag Doll had a twisted ending, so of course that's the one I went for.
Rag doll starts off kinda sad, the wife wanted a baby girl but had a baby boy and treats him badly. So the father was taking him out for some fun and the kid finds what he calls a rag doll, which turns out to be a dead body. The father is framed and it looks like he's facing time in prison. We find out he had an affair and so many things start happening all at once. Then, there's a huge twist at the end. I didn't see it coming at all. My bet would have been something totally different but it really worked.
This is a short read, only 19 pages long but it's filled with so much information and such a creative twist at the end. Totally worth the quick read.
If you'd like to buy this book, you can find it here.

The short ones can be hard to make compelling sometimes, great when they come off well.
ReplyDeleteIt really is.
DeleteThank you so much for reading my short story. So glad you enjoyed it and feel that the twist works. Very well written review!

Thanks so much. So glad you liked my review.
DeleteThis sounds like a creepy book. And only 19 pages with a big twist at the end, sounds like it's well written to be able to pull that off.
ReplyDeleteIt was kinda creepy but I really like that. I was surprised there was so much story in so few pages.
