Review: Native Deodorant

A while back I was sent a small sample of this Native Deodorant in Lavender and Rose scent. The sample was small, I pictured it here next to a penny. But it was enough of a sample for me to use it over a week's time so I could give my impression of it.

Let me first say that the lavender scent is strong, like really strong. I didn't detect any rose at all. If you don't like lavender then this is not the right scent for you.

I used it like I would normally use a deodorant but I found that it did not keep me from smelling bad. I had to keep re-applying it after about 5 hours. My usual brand I only have to apply once a day. It also didn't keep the wetness from being there like my usual brand does. This would not work for me at all in the Summer heat, not at all.

After a week, I stopped using it and threw the remainder away because it just didn't work for me. I also have to say that I had to wash my underarms 4 times before the strong lavender scent was gone. That overbearing scent was just too much but even with the scent being so strong it didn't stop that stinky underarm scent from being there as well. It just didn't work as a deodorant.

  1. Sounds like one only to use if you want to be super smelly

  2. I like lavender, but I'm more a subtle scent person so this probably wouldn't be my thing either.

    1. It's expensive if you buy a full size one.

  4. I received the same sample and was saving it to take on a trip, due to its size. I'm going to have to rethink that!

People RAVE about it online, but I can't get over the price. Isn't it like $12 for a regular size?

    1. I didn't understand the great reviews when this one was awful.

  6. Natural deodorants like this one don't work the same way because they don't have antiperspirant or so I've read. They don't have any aluminum which helps stops the sweat from even forming while the deodorant parts helps the stink. I looked a bit into this when I though about switching but then changed my mind after trying two different kinds and having the same issues you did.

  7. Sounds like garbage to me. I've never had luck using natural deodorants.

  8. Lot of strong scent I have trouble with.

  9. Natural is good sometimes but yeah in some products you need other stuff. It's like when they stopped using certain pesticides (which I get they can be dangerous) and all the bugs come back lol.

    1. Yeah and I don't want these bugs.

  10. I need to use an antiperspirant and usually prefer no-scent so it doesn't class with my perfume. I get wanting natural but nope stinky is no good!

    1. Yeah I'd want other reviewers to be honest if I were looking into a product so if it doesn't work I'll say so.

  14. I got this awhile back too, and while I love the scent of lavender, it didn't work well for me either, so I wouldn't switch to this one from my old brand. Hugs, RO

  15. Oooph, I think I'd hard pass on this too!
Lavender is a nice scent but as a deodorant? I'd think more than twice before considering it. Then with what you've said about it not keeping you dry etc I'd avoid like the plague.

I don't blame you for throwing it out. You gave it a week, that's more than fair.

    1. Thanks. It just didn't work for me at all. The scent was way too strong too.

  16. I like lavender scent, but this sounds like it was way too strong. And if you have to keep applying it to prevent smell and sweat, then it isn't working at all. I have a deodorant with lavender smell that I like, it has a good smell, but not that overwhelming luckily.
