The Futon
When my grandson comes over on the weekends he's been sleeping in a reclining chair. But the boy is too tall for that now so my daughter and his father bought a futon where the back lays down so he can sleep on it. My daughter's best friend (Tia) who moved into my courtyard with her girlfriend a few months ago came over and helped her put it together. Of course Falor was in there helping too. LOL
Falcor the ever present helper making sure things go smoothly.
As they put this Futon together, one thing became quite clear...it was going to be very low to the floor. lol
They were scratching their heads a few times at the instructions.
But they got it figured out.
Of course Falcor got to try it out first.
Falcor was reading the instructions to make sure they did it right.
It's so low to the ground! Ha ha. I won't be sitting on it or else my knee's probably wouldn't be able to get me up off it again. I'd probably need to call the fire department for help. (Not that I would mind having all those helping hands helping me up. Some of those fire fighters are cute. But my brother is a retired fire fighter and has really ruined any firefighter fantasies I might have had. Oh well.) lmao it works great for my grandson though.

ReplyDeleteyes he is.
DeleteI had a futon in college. Surprisingly comfy. I hope your grandson enjoys it.

DeleteIt is really nice looking piece of furniture. Hopefully the tall boy will get a good sleep on it. And in the mean time, Falcor can break it in, lol.
ReplyDeleteHe and Falcor have been spending time on it.
DeleteYes, low to the ground for sitting but looks comfy for sleeping. Good thing Falcor was there to supervise!
ReplyDeleteYes, he helped a lot. lol
DeleteThat photo after the one of Falcor reading the instructions looks like he's ready to poop on those instructions, lol.

DeleteOh, the nightmare of putting up furniture!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is good at it. She put together all of the new shelves too.
DeleteThose futons, in my experience, are better for sleeping than sitting! I hope it's useful and your grandson enjoys it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can definitely see that now.
DeleteMy mother had an American futon about twenty years ago but I was never a fan of it
ReplyDeleteIt's good for sleeping on that's about it.
DeleteWe had one about 4 decades ago. Hope he's comfortable sleeping on it!
ReplyDeleteHe said he likes it.
DeleteVery useful furniture
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteIt looks like it will do the trick for your grandson.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he likes it so far.
DeleteI hear you about knees!
ReplyDeleteThey sure couldn't have done this without Falcor!
Falcor helped a lot. lol
DeleteMy knees are terrible.
I have never had a futon! My friends who have had one told me that they find them more comfortable for sleeping.
ReplyDeleteYes it does seem to be more comfortable for sleeping but since that's what we got it for it's working out great.
DeleteFalcor is a precious assistant indeed! LOL.
ReplyDeletelmao Yes he is.
DeleteNice that your grandson has a more comfortable place to sleep when visiting! Falcor looks like a great helper and supervisor! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, yes, He helped a lot.
DeleteMy youngest one had futon.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it seems good for what we got it for.
DeleteHA! I always scratch my head at the written instructions these days!
ReplyDeletelmao The instructions are terrible.
DeleteYes, he is to tall for a chair. I actually like futons. This will make it much easier for the weekends.
ReplyDeleteOh definitely, he likes it already.
DeleteOh man, assembly-required and instruction manuals that come in chapters. Good on them for keeping at it.
ReplyDeleteI can't do low furniture either for the exact same reasons.
LOL, yeah, I can see why your firefighter fantasies would go up in smoke the moment you thought of your brother. I feel the same way about certain military romances or suspenses.
lmao My brother is great but wouldn't make it on the cover of a romance book.
DeleteFutons usually are pretty low to the ground. I just got rid of ours because the kids moved out and they were the only one to use it. It will be great for your grandson!
ReplyDeleteMy grandson likes it, he's more comfortable now.
DeleteThis looks like it will be great for your grandson. I bet he is happy! :)
ReplyDeleteyes he is.
DeleteI hope the futon is comfortable. Jenny and I slept on a futon for several years as we couldn't afford a bed.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson likes it.
DeleteThat will be great for your grandson.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet that Falcor got involved.
All the best Jan
