My Favorite Hair Products

I've got long hair, it's past my waist and I love trying new products. Most time though products don't actually do what they say they will and then there are times that I think I'm buying it for one thing and end up using it for something else. So here are three hair products that I've tried and really like.

This is GIOVANNI 2chic Ultra-Moist Leave-In Conditioning Styling Elixir, 4 oz. - Smoothes Frizz Prevents Breakage, Avocado & Olive Oil, Enriched with Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Botanical Extracts, No Parabens.

It is $8.99 on Amazon. (It was when I bought it)

I actually originally bought this for my daughter and I tried it once and really liked it so I bought a bottle for myself. It's a really nice leave in conditioner and makes it easier for me to brush/comb my hair when it's wet. It doesn't leave a residue on my hair and it smells great.

This is Garnier Fructis Style Smooth Air Dry Anti-Frizz Cream, 5.1 fl. oz.
It was $3.49 when I bought it on Amazon.

The funny thing about this is that I thought frizz and fly away hair was the same thing. I was looking for something to stop the fly aways and give me less static in my hair when I brush it so I bought this. When this did nothing to stop the fly aways I Googled if that and frizz were the same thing and color me surprised that they are not. lol

But this ended up being a really nice leave in conditioner and it smells really good and leaves my hair shiny. It didn't leave a residue in my hair once it dried so for the price this is great as a leave in conditioner. And it's meant for hair that is air dried which is what I do so this works well for me.

This is Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair, 5.1 fl; oz.
it was $4.94 when I purchased it on Amazon.

I bought this at the same time as the last one and you can see it's for frizzy hair. But it's probably my favorite of all three of these products. I saved the best for last. This looks and feels kind of like oil but I use only one pump of this in my wet hair after I wash my hair and it makes my hair silky soft, and even if my hair is a tangled mess, I can brush/comb my wet hair with ease. You remember when your were a little girl and your mom would buy those detangle sprays so it wouldn't hurt to brush your hair, well this works better than any of those!

It smells amazing and once your hair is dry there's no oily feeling at all and no weird residue. Again this does nothing for the fly away hair problem or the static I have in my hair when brushing but it's such a good leave in conditioner that I don't care.

So this is what my hair looks like before I use a flat iron to straighten it and you can see it's not completely straight until I straighten it. I don't know if you can tell from this picture but there's also a lot of flyaways going on and it had some static to it which made the flyaway problem even worse. But my hair is very long. So now I need to find a product to fix my flyaway problem.

  4. I kept my hair long until I turned forty and then I cut it all off and I've never looked back. Whew. It was so much fun but it was also so hot in the spring and summer.

  7. I use Garnier too, but have not tried the leave in stuff for a long time -- for the reasons you mentioned, the residue it leaves. I may give that anti-frizz one a chance. Thanks!

  10. Your hair is so long! I have chin length straight hair. I use very little product, but you found so many that do the trick for you and don't break the bank. That's great.

  16. Ooh interesting! I'm always looking for products that won't leave a residue. I have thick, wavy hair and it gets super heavy/greasy with some products.

    1. I hate that greasy feeling that some products leave behind. These definitely don't do that.

  18. I haven't seen Fructis in a long time. Back when I had hair LOL I did use it once and remember the nice smell. My fave, though, was Herbal Essences, that one really gives you shampoogasms like in their ads.

    1. I used to love Herbal Essences back when they had the green bottle of shampoo that had the woman with the long blonde hair on it. The shampoo was green and it smelled so good.
