Apartment Life #275
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.
There were two different ambulances down at the end of my street but I only got a picture of the one before the other one took off. This is the Fire Department ambulance which is why it looks different from some of the other ambulances that I've shared pictures of. I have no idea what was going on though.
While my camera doesn't take great pictures at night, at least you can make out the police car, lights and the woman in front of the car. This lady's nick name around here is screamer lady because she lives down the street but walks up and down the street screaming and yelling at the top of her lungs. I think there's some mental illness going on there. That's what she was doing when the police stopped her this night. But after a few minutes they let her go and left.

Tuesday night at 10:00 p.m. while I was walking the dog, two police officers who were outside with their flashlights looking in different courtyards stopped me and asked me if I heard anybody screaming for help. I said no I just got out here. The lady cop said was it you screaming for help? When I said no she said are you sure? And kept questioning whether or not I had been the one who was screaming for help. I said you literally just saw me walk down the stairs from my apartment building, you know I just now got out here with my dog. And she said well if you need help just let us know or give us a call and I said okay I will. And I went ahead and went on my walk with the dog. This lady cop did not believe that I was not the one who was out there screaming for help before they got here. They stayed around for a little while with their flashlights looking into different courtyards and into cars and even drove around the side street to look over there and then they left when they couldn't find the person who was yelling for help. Hey, at least they came out to check it out.

And this week I've had some drama of my own with my daughter's ex boyfriend. Some of you might have seen the post I made about it this week but if not and you are so inclined, you can read about it here. I'm updating the post as more stuff happens. Hopefully there won't be anything else to add in the future.
The high this week was 118F/47C
The low this week was 80F/26C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

I suppose it was a good thing that they were trying to find the woman screaming - even it fhey didn't seem to understand that no means no.
ReplyDeleteI hope your daughter's ex calms down.
I don't think they ever found anyone. I hope the ex calms down too.
DeleteThe cop saw you leave your apartment to walk Falcor and she still kept asking if you were the one screaming? So bizarre! I guess maybe they think women lie if it’s a domestic situation.
ReplyDeleteYeah they probably do.
DeleteStrange cop
ReplyDeleteIt was a strange encounter.
DeleteI like when people have nicknames. it makes them easier to identify. I hope all goes well this week.
ReplyDeleteI've given a bunch of people around here nicknames
DeleteYou would think you'd know if you were the one screaming for help!
ReplyDeleteYou would think.
DeleteThat's annoying that the cop kept asking you the same question, especially since you weren't giving any sign of distress. Maybe the screamer lady had been at it...
ReplyDeleteI hope the ex stops harassing you and poor Falcor. I guess he met his match with you LOL.
I hope whatever was screaming is fine.
DeleteI hope the x fades away to nothingness and we don't hear from him again.

ReplyDelete(I had to edit a typo out of my previous comment) Reading how that lady cop couldn't seem to see the obvious, even after you pointed out that she'd just seen you come out, I'm guessing the lady cop was either a blonde or a few eggs short of a dozen. And good job on outwitting and outplaying daughter's ex. He should have been removed as a content creator, but at least now he's on notice not to screw around with Scary Mary.
ReplyDeleteThe lady cop probably sees a bunch of people that don't tell the truth so she is probably always thinking that people are lying.
DeleteI hope the ex just goes away
Wow - I wonder if the cop thought you were afraid to say you needed help? Bizarre.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably what she thought.
DeleteIt will be 40C tomorrow here and I have to go on foot downtown LOL Death here I come...
ReplyDeleteOh no. Bring lots of water with you.
DeleteHuh that's interesting about the cops. I wonder if there's any link with screamer lady. After reading the other comments though- yeah maybe she was thinking you were afraid to say? I bet they get that sometime...
ReplyDeleteMost likely but they didn't question any of the other women who were outside.
DeleteI think the lady cop was just following the script. You never know, the screamer could be afraid to say anything. Better safe than sorry. Try and have a cool week. We have lots of rain and wind so it really isn't that bad here.
ReplyDeleteMost probably. Oh I will be staying inside as much as possible this week. Too hot to be outside.
DeleteSo sorry you had to have personal drama this time
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteThat is so weird that they thought that your were the screamer.
ReplyDeleteYeah it is.
DeleteYes, at least the police were there asking. I read the update. TicTok sucks.
ReplyDeleteYes, at least they showed up. I was surprised by that. Tiktok is good fun to watch funny videos but they don't ban accounts who bully others and I don't like that.
DeleteI'm happy to hear that the police were trying to find the woman screaming for help. Maybe a woman called for help and then was dragged back and detained somehow so she couldn't be out there? Troubling when you think about it.
ReplyDeleteI was sorry to see that post from your daughter's ex. He sounds like a real jerk! I hope he doesn't give you or your daughter any more trouble!
I hope whoever it is is fine.
Deleteyeah the ex is a jerk. I hope he fades away like a bad dream.
Well, I guess that's really good that the police were interested in helping someone. Glad it wasn't you, and I hope the person that needed help got it.
ReplyDeleteI hope whoever it was, if there was a person screaming is alright.
DeleteWhy on earth did the cop think you were the screaming lady? Surely if she had asked a few of your neighbours they would have said no it wasn't you.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea.
DeleteA bit annoying, but at least they made very VERY sure it wasn't you who needed help. 🙂
ReplyDeleteYour temps are crazy. 😜
Yeah at least they did that. Yeah the temps this month have been nuts.
