Apartment Life #365

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 26 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 26 years here in a weekly blog post.

For a couple of days in a row the Goodyear Blimp was flying over Las Vegas. I haven't seen the blimp in a long time. I used to see it all the time when I was a kid.
---

On Wednesday night when I took Falcor out for his last walk I spotted one of the homeless ladies dog out by himself. So when he came over to see Falcor I grabbed him, took Falcor home and walked Nibbles around the neighborhood looking for his owner.

Then Jonathan came outside and since I know he knows the owner I asked him if he knows where she hangs out. He said she was probably at the laundry mat, so he took the dog over to her. He told me when he got back that she was there and got her dog back. Oh and it looks like Jonathan isn't moving after all, he's decided to stay here so I figure it's better to make nice with him while he's here.
--

On Wednesday I heard a bunch of sirens in the area and found out that police and Swat were just around the corner from my  neighborhood. So this technically didn't happen in my immediate neighborhood but it as close enough for me to hear all the sirens.

But when I looked on my news pages on FB this was all I could find out about it. There wasn't any updates so who knows what happened.

The high this week was 87F/30C
The low this week was 52F/11C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. I am glad it was quiet(ish) in your immediate neighbourhood. Not something that happens often.

  2. Haha, love the sign-off—“Apartment Hell Life” sounds like a whole saga I’d keep up with weekly. Sounds like a bit of a mystery with whatever happened on your news pages—classic FB giving half the story, as usual. And wow, that’s quite a temperature swing! 87F to 52F? No wonder it’s chaos out there. Looking forward to next week’s episode—maybe with some weather drama and a plot twist!

  3. The Goodyear blimp is a common sight here, though it’s always sort of exciting to see. I thought Jonathan had to move?

    1. He didn't have to move but had planned to but now he doesn't plan to. My brother is coming back next month for another visit. Hopefully Jonathan doesn't cause any problems.

  4. We live 70 miles from the Goodyear plant and one of the places where a blimp is kept. We often see it on it's way to football at Ohio State University or the Memorial Golf tournament. Fun to see. Nice that Nibbles got reunited. Happy Easter today.

I hardly ever see the blimp around here but it's been around for a few days now. Nibbles is a cute dog I'm glad I was able to help find his owner.

  7. A fairly quiet week for you! That last thing is sooo familiar. That's a big aggravation for me, I hear sirens or there's a bunch of police activity at the local big box store or whatever and NO INFORMATION anywhere available to tell me what's going on.

    1. Right? I wish we had more information on things like this that go on in the neighborhood.

  8. Interesting that the Goodyear Blimp is still around. I wonder why Jonathan decided not to move out, but hopefully he'll stop trying to annoy his neighbors and behave himself now that he's staying.

  11. That was kind of you to try and return Nibbles to his owner and good that you have made civil overtures to Jonathan. It sounds as though he's one to be kept onside!

    1. Jonathan has been civil so it's easier to make nice than be mad at a neighbor.

  14. The week before spring break while at work, I looked up and out the windows, and there was the Goodyear blimp floating past. I know they have a base (station?) fairly nearby, but I rarely see it. (I know one can buy a ride on it, but last I heard it was $700 for an hour. I don't know who has that kind of cash for that.)

  15. We live in So. Florida right near the main Blimp base, lol. It sounds weird when it hovers over our house! Also---sorry it took me so long to get over here to comment--we were camping and the park we were at had NO WIFI!! Gasp! I felt like I was living at "Little House On The Prairie".

    1. Nibbles is cute. I know he's homeless with his owner but that might be better than in the high kill shelter we have here.

  18. You did your good deed of the week - I can feel for the dog. The Goodyear blimp is something I have never seen and probably never will, given where I live. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  24. So last week, I was out walking my usual route along the beach wall and saw some men with shirts marked "detective" bringing out a body bag on a stretcher and put it into an SUV. I tried to find out if it was a suspicious death, but can't find anything about it.
