Saturday Vittles

My daughter and I are trying to eat healthier so I thought I would share some of the foods we are eating.

Fruit Popsicles

You will need:

A blender
fruit
popsicle molds
2 TBSP  Zero Calorie 7-Up

I found the popsicle molds on Amazon years ago. I've been making these every Summer for years.

What to do:

2 packages of strawberries made 8 popsicles. Wash and trim each strawberry. I cut them in half for easier blending. Add the Zero calorie 7-UP to the blender and pulse until it's blended very well. The 7UP adds a bit of sweetness without adding any calories. Some of these strawberries were very tart so they needed a bit of sweetness.

Add the strawberry mixture to the popsicle molds and stick in the freezer for 3 hours.

Each popsicle is 25 calories and 6 carbs.

  1. It's only been a high of 95 up here, cooler than you but the humidity is off the charts. I need to make and eat a few of these healthy cold treats.

  3. While I won’t be making popsicles, this is a good reminder that strawberry season has come to our region. There is a stand around the corner. I should avail myself soon.

  10. Molds are always such a good investment and fun too. I did not even eat strawberries this year, and cherries especially as they are 12 dollar for a kilo. Even melons and nectarines are crazy expensive this year.

  11. Trata-se afinal de um gelado caseiro.
Espero que seja muito refrescante para o verão.
