Favorite Picture of the Week
We had some smoke in the area from the fire in California. Made the sunrise look orange for a few days.
Not a lot of clouds but the colors were still nice.
Falcor loves to get up early so at least I see the nice sunrises.
And then we had a few days of some clouds and the sunsets were nice because of it.
It made for nice sunset walks.
Lots of fiery colors in this sunset.
That one cloud lit up from underneath as the sun was setting combined with the smoke from the fires in the background made for a colorful sunset this night.

Smoke does make some dramatic skyscapes.
ReplyDeleteIt does. And it smells like smoke around here too much.
DeleteSunrise is energising. Sunset is relaxing.
ReplyDeleteThat's very true.
DeleteThese are so lovely Mary. I love the second one.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteDesert sunsets are the best. Crazy how the smoke drifts all the way to you, but we've had smoke from Canada and that's five times further.
ReplyDeleteit is crazy. You wouldn't think that you would be able to smell the smoke all the way here but I sure did.
DeleteThese are some stunning photos. What we enjoy about our morning just to see those colorful skies. We're having a drizzle here this morning. So when the sun comes up it might not be too showy today
ReplyDeleteI would love some rain today.
DeleteThat lovely orange colour makes me want to have a creamsicle.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I want one too.
Deletebummer that the fires are affecting your skies! We get air quality warnings from the Canadian fires. Pretty photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThe smoke, bad as it is, really lights up your skies.
ReplyDeleteYes it does.
DeleteAt least it's a pretty orange. We are getting a lot of smoky days from the Canadian wildfires.
ReplyDeleteThe smoke is bad.
DeleteThe cause is not the best but you got some nice results.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteA few clouds always make a nice sunset/rise. We've had nice ones this summer thanks to smoke from Canadian fires.
ReplyDeleteYes the smoke does make for nice ones.
DeleteThe orange sky sure looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteLovely photos
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBeautiful! Well worth getting up early.
ReplyDeleteYes it was. Thank you.
DeleteWe have dozens of big fire around the country as well, and they just arrested some Ukrainian guy who started a fire down in Montenegro which covered like half of their seaside part, blooming idiot, hope they send him to Russia instead of Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteI will never understand people who start fires.
DeleteGorgeous shots, Mary! I, too, love the orange tint you captured from the fire smoke (though sad about the actual fire). Our sky has been getting interesting color from the Canadian wildfire blowing down toward us.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The fires are sad but they make good sky pictures.
DeleteShame about the fires ...even here in the UK some areas have experienced wild fires due to the extreme heat and dry weather conditions.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note I did enjoy your photographs.
All the best Jan
It's nice when the fires are just far enough away to color the sunrises and sunsets without having to deal with the smoky air. (It'd be nicer if there were no fires, of course, but we take what we can get.)
ReplyDeleteStunning skies!
