Apartment Life #412
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
---
Last Sunday I witnessed a lady down the street getting really mad at 2 of the homeless guys. She threatened to call the police on both of them if they ever looked at or touched her kids again. She said something about how they didn't have enough time to touch her kids because she saw them out the window and came out and stopped them. That's not good at all.
----
My daughter's best friend took this picture for me when she saw that 2 of the dumpsters in our alley were on fire at 1AM. The Fire Department came out and put the fires out. We all think it was deliberately set by the homeless again.
--One morning this week I was walking through the alley and saw a tow truck getting ready to tow away a black SUV that has been parked there for a while.
It hasn't moved in quite some time.
The police truck was also here for this right in front of the SUV.
The tow truck driver was looking through the SUV and getting ready to hook it up while the police were here.
Then I got a picture of the tow truck backing out with the SUV on the back of it and the police truck still here. I have no idea why the police were here for this or who owned the SUV.

And because maintenance didn't prepare some of the buildings for paint, after they painted the first time, the paint started chipping off the buildings in the rain and high winds we had a couple of weeks ago. So they had to scrape, patch and re-paint a couple of buildings. So of course they put plastic over a bunch of cars.
More cars covered in plastic. At least this time I didn't see anyone come out screaming about the plastic on their car. 🤣🤣🤣
The high this week was 98F/36C *Ya'll, it's too damn hot for March!*
The low this week was 62F/16C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Touching someone else's kids, as a stranger, is just asking to get shot.
ReplyDeleteI guess people realized it's better to have plastic on their cars than pain on them.
"pain" -- meant to say "paint"
DeleteI would think 98 is a bit extreme this early in the year. I'm glad to settle for the 65 I got yesterday! I suppose if I open my blinds first thing in the morning and saw my car wrapped in plastic I would be rather stunned but it was good of them to do this.
ReplyDeleteIt is unusual for this time of year for sure.
DeleteSomeone does need to call the cops on those guys if they're doing that!
ReplyDeleteI know.
DeleteThose particular homeless people are a real worry, as I mother I would be always worried that they might do something to my children as well as others.
ReplyDeleteGood to see the street is looked after taking cars away that have been there for a long time - and those that set those bins on fire are another worry, Mary.
The fires do worry me.
DeleteIt’s hot there, but winter refuses to give up here.
ReplyDeleteWinter was barely here at all.
DeleteYou do have tales to tell!
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
Too many of them.
DeleteThose are quite the events around your apartment. Both sound a bit scary too.
ReplyDeleteToo much going on here.
DeleteI'm always shocked by the things you share.
ReplyDeleteI should be more shocked these days.
DeleteThe homeless men who're living in your area at the moment seem to be a threat...if they really touched (or tried to touch) those kids, yikes. And they keep setting stuff on fire...
ReplyDeleteThe management people aren't very competent, are they? That's what they get for not doing things properly the first time around.
They do seem to be a threat. Management sometimes is ok, and sometimes not.
DeleteAs always, never a dull moment in your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteWe are waiting for warm weather here in Toronto
ReplyDeleteit's too warm here for sure.
DeleteInsane temps! And how lovely that they put plastic over cars, in my country they would never remember to do that, they would just ruin your car and not give a flying F about it.
ReplyDeleteWell at least they put some plastic on the cars. It's too hot here.
DeleteNever-ending excitement!
ReplyDeleteSure seems that way.
Delete98 degrees in March is crazy! I hope you get a cool off soon.
ReplyDeleteIt should be in the 70's next week.
DeleteNever a dull moment. That story with the mom and kids is scary though.
ReplyDeleteIt is. Something bad happening there.
DeleteIt's like two steps forward and three steps back with this new management company. They try to do improvements but don't do it right the first time!
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Falcor get in your walks before it gets too hot.
Management is not real smart.
DeleteThere is always a lot of action around your place. Have a nice evening.
ReplyDeleteToo much going on here.
DeleteThat lady really should call the police and keep her kids safe.
ReplyDeleteYes, she should.
DeleteI wonder if someone got behind on payment.
ReplyDeleteMaybe.
DeleteOmg! I wouldn't wait to call the police if my kids were almost molested! The fires are concerning and 98 is definitely too hot for March!
ReplyDeleteI would have too.
DeleteIt is too damn hot for March. Yikes, you'd think that the building owners would hire painters who knew what they were doing. Apparently not.
ReplyDeleteThis new management team doesn't hire anyone outside, they have their maintenance people do everything.
Deletewow a busy week in your neighborhood. It's scary that the dumpsters were on fire..
ReplyDeleteFires are scary.
DeletePainting in the wind can cause unnecessary damage. Glad they put plastic over the cars.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteThere's never a dull moment, even if you wish for one!
ReplyDeleteThat's true.
DeleteAll go! Jeez lows of 16C? That's highs for a Scottish summer haha!
ReplyDeleteKids should be safe at all times. I would worry if it was my daughter :-(
Hopefully it cools down a little here.
DeleteThere are people in my city who complain about the city dismantling the homeless camps that pop up along the river banks and the police arresting the addicts who hang around the bus station and the library panhandling (rudely), saying it's heartless, but I am very liberal and even I understand that the only reason someone is homeless here in my city is because they refuse to sign the no drugs and alcohol agreements at our multiple shelters, or for DSS hotel rooms, and then refuse to go into addiction treatment which is their final choice. They complain but can't say what they think should be done. 🙄
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens here with the homeless too. They don't want to go to the shelter because they can't do drugs there.
