Favorite Picture of the Week
Since I was feeling better this week, I thought I would change my bedroom up a little bit with the help of my daughter and her best friend, Tia who lives in my courtyard. They helped me hang up a few tapestries and move some things around the walls. I have 2 salt lamps and a bunch of different lights all over my bedroom.
Tia made this butterfly diamond art picture for me for Christmas. I moved it over to this wall with the shelf and flowers.
Then they hung up this heart and butterfly tapestry that Tia gave me and I had them hang some green and purple flowers around it.
Pay no attention to the walls or the spots that the paint has peeled off. 🤣🤪 I've lived in this apartment for 27 years and while I've washed the walls, they've never been re-painted in that time. It's still the 'eggshell yellow' that it was when I moved it. I could paint it but that would be an undertaking that I'm not ready for anytime soon.
More butterflies.
I put together these purple flower bunches and arranged them in a vase that sits on top of my jewelry box.
My daughter got me this butterfly tapestry that we hung on the wall behind the door. I have several tapestries covering the awful eggshell yellow walls.
More butterflies and a tiny jar of Falcor's hair.
A bouquet of black flowers and black and silver skulls, because of course I do.

Very nice. I like the diamond art picture, isn't that beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSafe to say you like butterflies! And shame the managers wouldn't have your apartment painted for you considering how long you've been a tenant.
ReplyDeleteYes I do. The manager won't do anything extra.
DeleteYour home is super cozy looking. I like the refresh!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I do too.
DeleteI love how the butterflies are everywhere, and the diamond art picture looks really pretty on that wall.
ReplyDeleteThe black bouquet and skulls --totally your fun style.
Thank you. I'm happy with it.
DeleteYeah, our place hasn’t been painted in a long time. It still looks good enough to me, though.
ReplyDeleteI'll just hang tapestries everywhere and not see most of the walls. lol
DeleteI love all the butterflies and purples!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteAwesome decorations and pictures! The eggshell yellow doesn't stand a chance.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate that.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I appreciate that.
DeleteIt is so wonderful to hear that you are feeling better this week, and having your daughter and Tia help transform your space looks like it was the absolute perfect project. Those tapestries and fairy lights completely mask the old apartment paint with the warmest, coziest energy, and no one is judging the walls when there are so many gorgeous, sparkling details to admire instead. That butterfly diamond art Christmas gift from Tia is beautiful, and balancing out all that soft purple and green floral magic with a bouquet of black skull flowers is the most fantastic, unapologetic touch. Even that tiny jar of Falcor's hair on the shelf brings such a sweet, personal warmth to the whole setup. You have created a total sanctuary to relax and continue healing in, so enjoy every bit of your newly arranged courtyard oasis.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteIt's always nice to refresh your space. I understand why you wouldn't want to paint.
ReplyDeletePainting would be such a hassle.
DeleteYour bedroom looks amazing. Isn't it funt o update and change things sup a bit for a fresh new look?

DeleteYou sure got lots of interesting things and it all looks so very night!
ReplyDeleteThank you.

DeleteNeat seeing your room freshened up in spite of the old paint. I keep eying some of my walls and thinking they could do with a new coat of paint, but I don't have the energy for it, either. Looks like you have a good solution with the colorful tapestries.
ReplyDeleteThank you, the tapestries really do hide a lot of the paint.
DeleteOh it does look lovely your bedroom, Mary. I love purple and adore butterflies, so glad you had some help in recreating your room.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteMary I'm sorry I missed this post when it came out. But I love all the beautiful decorating that is in your apartment. Makes for beauty and peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteNicely done! It looks great. I don't know if I could face painting.
ReplyDeleteThank you, painting would be a hassle.
DeleteLooks like a witches lair, but knowing you you were probably going for it LOL
