When Adoption Reunions Go Wrong
I have a sibling who was put up for adoption before I was born and about 10 years ago...I found him. We all met and things seemed to go well, for a while. We no longer speak now and that's fine with me. I don't need all the drama and chaos this person brings with him.
If you are thinking of finding a lost loved one or planning an adoption reunion. Think twice about it, be prepared that the fantasy you have in your mind about how things are going to be in the long run is most likely now how reality is going to hand it to you.
My advice: Just leave the past where it should stay. In the past. Don't go looking for people that may or may not (Most likely not) live up to your expectations of what and who they should be. You're probably better off never finding that person and finding out the reality isn't anything like the fantasy you had built up in you mind.

Agreed, don't go looking
ReplyDeleteI won't ever again.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear your experience went so badly. We've had a reunion in our family and it was wonderful getting to know them and their family.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it didn't go well for you. A lot of the time curiosity gets the better of us. I know it probably would with me...
