Review: Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis
Book Description
Sunshine, Idaho, is a quiet ranching town, a perfect place to give injured animals a refuge...or to find one yourself. Veterinarian Dell Connelly suspects there’s a reason his clinic’s uber-efficient receptionist has taken shelter here.
Jade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape the big-city jungle to work with hurt animals, and have a forlorn stray kitten make its home under her desk...or enjoy the gorgeous views of her ruggedly sexy boss.
Jade is used to planning everything in her life, but Dell’s seductive, alluring ways have sparked an uncontrollable desire. And though Dell has never had time for love, Jade’s strength and sass is the kind of call no red-blooded male can resist...
My Review
I haven't read Jill Shalvis before but several of my blogger buddies have and the review made it seem like I was missing out by now reading her. I've read a couple of really good reviews for this book so I started with this one and I'm glad I did because it was really good.
Jade is in Sunshine to heal from something that happened to her but as soon as she's healed she plans on leaving which is why Jade and Dell don't get into a relationship right away. She works at the Veterinary clinic as a receptionist where Dell is the veterinarian there. While they work together, they slowly get to know one another and she slowly lets Dell know what happened to her in the past.
Watching these two get to know one another and get closer was fun. When they finally do let their guards down and get more intimate, the sparks fly. I found myself smiling in parts in sad in others. I really loved how they both loved animals, all animals and how the animals played a big part in this book.
There's so many great animals in this book but the parrot is the funniest in my opinion. You know, they will mimic what is said around them so you can just imagine what this parrot was saying. It was funny.
I liked seeing how they both grew and changed and I liked the secondary characters. I felt like I got to know all of them. I think I'll be reading more from Jill Shalvis now.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
