Apartment Life #216

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 21 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 21 years here in a weekly blog post.

This week it was quiet but my hot water heater sprung a leak and had to be replaced.

Thankfully the maintenance guys came out about an hour after I sent in my maintenance request. The wall in the back separates my kitchen from my bedroom. So when the hot water tank started leaking, a part of the carpet on the other side of the wall in my bedroom got wet. But I was able to get that dry pretty quickly. The maintenance people lifted my entire counter top up in order to replace the hot water heater.

But at least they came out and fixed it quickly because that could have lead to a real mess in the bedroom. In the last 3 months I've had my AC replaced, the bathroom sink unclogged and now the hot water heater break down. The maintenance guy said I need a new apartment. lol Hey, at least it was quiet in my neighborhood this week.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  12. I don't know why hot water heaters are so often put in really inaccessible places that make them a bugger to maintain or replace. I hope everything's now shipshape again.

    1. I don't know why either. They had a heck of a time getting the old one out and a new one in there.

  19. That seems like a lot of work to replace a hot water heater.

  20. If they can come out quickly to repair things, I think I'd prefer replacement of a water heater to police troubles in the neighborhood outside!

  28. That's nice they fixed it quickly at least. That is a lot that got broken and needed to be fixed those past few months in your apartment. That's funny the maintenance guy said you needed a new apartment.

  29. Ugh kitchen repairs are a pain in the rear. We're having issues with the bathroom sink and some kind of black gunge inside the plug hole. It's disgusting and we need to deal with it.
