Apartment life #234

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 22 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 22 years here in a weekly blog post.

A few apartments from me but still in my courtyard there was a fight between the brother that lives in this apartment and the drug addict brother who sleeps outside in the corner by his apartment door. I've talked about them before. The brother won't let the drug addict brother come inside because he steals from him and does stuff like this, breaking windows (3rd time). But the brother who lives there lets him sleep outside and gives him blankets and food. So they got into a fight probably about money again and the drug addict brother broke out the window again.

Maintenance came the next day and put cardboard on the window until it can be fixed. The manager charged him $80 for the new window last time. I wonder if she will charge him another $80 this time too.

While we haven't had a manager on site for a year, I found out through the resident portal that we pay our rent through that there is now an email address for the manager at another property if we have problems here. So at last we can now get in touch with someone if we need to.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Here's a couple of pictures of what I'm selling...

    1. The brother has been sleeping by the door for 2 years. But when they get into fights like this one, I don't see him around for a few weeks.

  3. Is it possible to fit a window that's made of unbreakable glass? Or does such a thing not exist? Certainly, having to keep replacing the window is an expense he could do without.

  6. I agree with Martha that the plant makes the situation even sadder. How awful to want to help your sibling and be subjected to that, but that’s addiction.

  11. I understand feeling family obligation. The guy must feel too torn to turn him away completely. Hope he stops breaking windows, though. Way to show gratitude.

  16. I remember you talking about these brothers before. You have to feel sorry for the guy who's trying to do what he can for his brother even though it's a crazy situation.
