Apartment Life #322

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 25 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 24 years here in a weekly blog post.

I noticed this sign in a neighbors window. It says, "No trespassing. We're tired of hiding the bodies." 😆

---

This week a dust storm blew through Las Vegas and one night we couldn't even see past the parking lot next door. It was spooky.

My daughter and I both thought it was fog at first until I looked up the news stations and they said it was a dust storm. There was still some dust and haze in the sky the next day but it mostly cleared up after this.

----

My daughter bought a small security camera for the living room window. It has a pretty good picture and she can take pictures and video from her phone. It also sends her a notification if someone walks by or stops at our door. And it has night vision where the picture is as clear as this one.

The really funny thing is, she nick named it the crackhead cam. 😆😆
---

The high this week was 98F/36C
The low this week was 72F/22C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

  1. Hi, Mary!

I see you guys experienced some weird weather phenomena this week, including a dust storm and a brutal cold snap, with the mercury reaching a daytime high of only 98. :) Yessum, when the temp plummets down below triple digits, it's time to get the woolens out of the moth balls. :) How common are those dust storms?

That sign saying "no trespassing - tired of hiding the bodies" - is that where the president of the Welcome Wagon lives? :)

I just know your daughter's cam is going to capture some strange images and videos for you to post on Sundays.

Have a safe and happy week, dear friend Mary, and come check out The Wolfman if you have time in the next 5 days.

    1. I don't see the dust storms all that often. It's finally starting to get cooler which I am glad about.

  3. Hahaha hilarious sign, not sure the police would agree, though.

  4. Dust storms are quite the thing. This last week I got to walk in zoo in New Jersey while it misted rain the whole time and it felt like a rainforest. Quite amazing.

  5. That security camera sounds like a good idea. I'm sure many images from it will be showing up here on the blog.

The dust storm is spooky. It reminds me of when my area was blanketed with smoke from forest fires a couple years ago.

Do any of your neighbors know about your blog? Do they know some of them have become internet-famous?

    1. One neighbor knows about my blog. He's the only one and I've only ever talked about his dog being cute. lol He's a nice, quiet guy so I don't mind him knowing,

  8. I love funny signs like that. I didn’t realize you guys got dust storms. That camera looks a lot better than our Blinks.

    1. The camera was only $20 on Amazon too. We don't get a lot of dust storms but once in a while we do.

  11. Good to have a security camera, neat apartment sign.

  12. That sign is probably more true than not. Our Dad was in Las Vegas once when a dust storm came through, he thought it was really strange. Good idea for the security cam and the name is purrfect!

  14. I like the No Trespassing sign.
The security camera has a good picture, as you say. Hopefully it'll prove to be useful.

  16. Oh, dear lord that's funny. I need one of those. There was a huge brawl out in the street last night and I didn't want to look out the window because the nextdoor neighbor always yells that he'll mess people up if they call the cops. I hate our police they aren't supposed to but they tell people who called and reported them. 😐 I texted Baz and told him not to come home from his friend's house until I texted him it was over. 😛

Mine would be the Hillbilly Hooligans cam. 🙄

    1. The funny thing is most of the drama happens on the street and not in my courtyard. But packages have been stolen so my daughter wanted to see who was trying to steal stuff.

  18. Oh wow! That looks like fog, but how dangerous for people with respiratory issues - I hope you both stayed safe. I can't wait to see what comes from the new camera...

    1. Oh yeah, we were both fine. There was a fine dusting of dirt all over the ground the next morning.

  19. Crackhead Cam ROFLMAO! She should start a Tik Tok called Crackhead Cam. I bet she'd skyrocket in followers, especially after hearing about some of the antics of your neighborhood residents.

    1. I told her you said that and she said if she starts getting enough video she will.
