About 3 weeks ago my daughter, her ex and their son went hiking out at Red Rock when my grandson turned 10. Red Rock is only about a 30 minute drive from here in Las Vegas so it's not too far away to get out of the city. And in the Winter months it's nice for hiking and climbing.
So I thought I would share a few pictures she took. While I like Mount Charleston better because of all the tree's and greenery, Red Rock has its own beauty and sometimes you even find some incredible spots.
Like this one. There was this depression in the rock that had collected the rain water from a few days earlier and it just looked so cool. What a great find.
That looks like some spectacular scenery.ReplyDelete
I've always loved hiking out there.Delete
What an amazing place. Thank you both.ReplyDelete
Your daughter took some great pictures on her adventure to Red Rock Canyon with her ex and your grandson. I just now read that the sandstone walls in the National Conservation Area are up to 3,000 feet high. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Mary!
I'm glad you liked the pictures.Delete
That is stunning. Nothing more beautiful than desert mountains and rocks.ReplyDelete
We’ve gone a few times and loved it. Such great scenery.ReplyDelete
I agree, it's so beautiful.Delete
Looks like a great place to visit. One of the few places that I haven't visited when I was in Vegas.ReplyDelete
If you come to Vegas again, be sure to visit here.Delete
I like Red Rocks. There is a tough climb that provides an incredible view of Vegas. I also like Valley of Fire, and hiking the canyons along the Colorado River below the dam where there are a lot of hot springs. Both need to be done in winter.ReplyDelete
Oh definitely in Winter. To hot any other time.Delete
What a beautiful, serene place.ReplyDelete
I used to love hiking around here because of this kind of scenery.Delete
This is beautiful! I'd love to go hiking here!ReplyDelete
It's such a nice place to hike.Delete
Amazing photos! Southern Utah has a lot of red rock, too, and I just love it. :DReplyDelete
My grandparents were from Lehi Utah and we used to go there every Summer. It was a nice place.Delete
Yes, a wonderful setting for a birthday hike. That pool in the rock is very cool.ReplyDelete
I love that they found a spot that had some pooled water like that too.Delete
Those are terrific photos. That first one looks like one the Mars Rover sent home, cool.ReplyDelete
Oh thank you. I can totally see that in that picture now.Delete
Happy Birthday to your Grandson. Now in the double digits! Stunning pictures. Looks like an excellent adventure!ReplyDelete
I like the last photo the best. Happy Birthday to your Grandson,ReplyDelete
Coffee is on and stay safe
What an amazing place to hike!ReplyDelete
Love the rugged vistas.
Hugs and blessings, Mary.
Thank you. I used to love going for a hike there back when my knees let me. lolDelete
It's so nice out there in the Winter time.ReplyDelete
Those are great pictures! I don't hike but that looks like a great place to if you do.ReplyDelete
I used to like to hike before my knees got really bad.Delete
Those are some great pictures! Looks like a nice place to visit.ReplyDelete
Oooh, what a gorgeous spot. I think I'd like it more there than in the greenery. Pic N°3 is awesome.ReplyDelete
Thank you. Ken and I used to go up there all the time when our daughter was little, We even buried some of the hamsters we had up there.Delete
