Christmas Lights Around My Neighborhood
Some of you may remember that I have Agoraphobia and anxiety. I don't go out much at all. But I'm trying to do more and walk a little more. So when my daughter suggested we walk around the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights I decided to go with her. So here are some pictures from my surrounding neighborhood.
Both of these houses had great lights.
I love the blue snowflakes.
Love all the inflatables.
I hope you enjoyed the lights as much as I did.

Some wonderful displays there. Our own neighbourhood isn't given to so much Christmas display, mainly a few Christmas trees and fairy lights.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see so many displays this year.
DeleteVery cool decorations, but -- not a single Krampus figure? I'd think he'd be very popular, given how many people your area has who could benefit from a sound thrashing.
ReplyDeleteSnowmen and snowflakes seem to be the favored items. An aspirational theme, perhaps, in an area where it doesn't snow?
No Krampus, sadly. So many people don't even know who he is.
DeleteI am so glad that you were able to take this walk with your daughter and even gladder that you enjoyed the lights.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am too.
DeleteWell done! Going out is difficult, but at night must be worse. I'm glad you enjoyed your walk with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteActually during the day is worse for me. There are so many more people outside suring the day.
DeleteLovely lights around there
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSome very cheery Christmas displays! I'm glad you and your daughter enjoyed getting out and about to see them!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am too.
DeleteHow fun to be able to walk around at night and see lights. We are usually limited to doing it in the car, which prevents being able to stop and enjoy and take pictures. I enjoyed yours, Mary.
ReplyDeleteI remember being little and doing it in the car too.
DeleteLots of people who go all out for Christmas LOL. My fave is the red and green house - original! And I'm glad you're feeling comfortable enough to go out more.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was surprised that so many did.
DeleteMy favorite is the inflatable snowmen couple holding the small snowman.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute decoaration.
DeleteSo fun and festive! A great thing to encourage you to get out, and so fun to go with your daughter!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm glad I went.
DeleteGlad you went out to see the lovely lights
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteGlad to hear you were able to get out and around, Mary! The pretty lights are definitely a great motivator!
ReplyDeleteThey really were.
DeleteI saw an article I had to share: The Joy of Rats. https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/what_can_we_learn_from_the_joy_of_rats?utm_source=Greater+Good+Science+Center&utm_campaign=51a1a73122-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_GG_Newsletter_December_17_2024&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_5ae73e326e-51a1a73122-73204959
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link.
DeleteThose are lovely. It's fun to go out to look at lights this time of year. I hope to get a chance to do this. (I had plans to last year, and then I caught a cold, and I was in no mood to go anywhere.)
ReplyDeleteOh no, I hope you get a chance to go too.
DeleteI've yet to decorate my palace, will probably do it on Friday LOL Ten days is about as much as I can handle festive junk around the house collecting dust LOL

DeleteThe festive lights look so nice to see at night, glad you and your daughter took a walk around your neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I went too.
DeleteThose are such pretty Christmas lights and it's nice you were able to get out and see more that first responder lights flashing.
ReplyDeletelmao, Me too.
DeleteGood on you to put in some further time outside and also catch some pretty lights. Walking through our neighborhood streets and the downtown district are fun for me seeing all the lights, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice that so many houses has displays.
DeleteWell done for going out with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the lights :)
All the best Jan
I'm glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteYour neighborhood really does it up! So many well done displays. We have a singing Santa for the front door. It is super bright & plays music when someone opens the storm door. Great job getting out.
ReplyDeleteThank you, that sounds cute.
DeleteLoved seeing these photos of the lights in your area, they all are looking good. In my area it's not at all like that, just a house here and there.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised there were so many decorated houses.
DeleteWe have the same issues! I don't have agoraphobia, so much, I just can't do friendships. People are different here, with long-standing friends. I've never been out to someone's house, here, for socialization, for example. Groups give me the hee bee jeebies!
ReplyDeleteWe're sisters of a different mother!
Oh I completely get that. I don't have any real like friends just online ones. I don't like being around people.
DeleteLovely neighborhood Xmas lights photos ~ thanks,

Thank you.
DeleteI LOVE going to look at all the lights in my area. In fact, we splurged a bit for my husband's birthday this past weekend and did a horse-drawn carriage tour of lights through one of the wealthier neighborhoods near us. It was gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that sounds magical.
DeleteLiving in a rural area, there's not a lot of lights, but I have one neighbor who has gone all out. Of my own outdoor lights, 1/2 aren't working after the hurricane (not really, but 50 mph winds) we had last week.
ReplyDelete50 mph winds are no joke.
DeleteYou have a nicely decorated neighborhood. It certainly makes this season brighter when our skies here in NY State are either dreary or snowy. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that so many homes decorated.
