Apartment Life #396
This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 27 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 27 years here in a weekly blog post.
Monday morning there was a high speed chase on my street. The guy in the white truck who got arrested, was speeding down the street away from the cops. He sped up the street, the cops on his tail, made a U-Turn and speed back down the street. Finally the cop in the police tactical truck was able to make him crash up on the side walk and he was pulled out of his car and arrested. I was outside walking Falcor across the street and saw the whole thing.
There was a buttload of cops out here for this guy.
You can see how his truck was up on the sidewalk. That was more excitement than I wanted to see for a morning walk.
---
It rained so much on Tuesday that parts of my courtyard flooded.
A large puddle in the middle of the rocks.
I had walked over to the grocery store next door Tuesday morning right and got home right before the rain started pouring from these clouds.
The high this week was 64F/17C
The low this week was 45F/7C
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Gosh, that must have been a bit of a worry the car speeding along your street, it could have crashed or anything. The rain again has made a pool of water I see.
ReplyDeleteIt was wild to be out there and see it happening.
Delete"That was more excitement than I wanted to see for a morning walk."
ReplyDeleteI bet...that sounds like a real action movie!
It felt like an action movie.
DeleteGood thing they got the speeder before he smashed up somebody's car -- or, worse, you or Falcor.
ReplyDeleteThe puddles must be annoying, but at least they're water rather than leaking sewage as in the past.
Yes, the police did a good job getting him pulled over. No sewage for now.
DeleteI see your temperatures listed and you're definitely getting some chilly nights. The Las Vegas Police Force must be huge to have just so many in your neighborhood and the rest of the city.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's nice to finally be cooler.
DeleteI've watched On Patrol Live enough to know I wouldn't want to see a high speed chase that close!
ReplyDeleteIt was wild for sure.
DeleteYes, I’ll be sure to return for more next week. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThat walk was far too exciting!
ReplyDeleteYes it was.
DeleteHi, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have read about a high speed chase happening on your street, and it's a good thing, because it places you, my buddy Falcor and your neighbors and their pets at great risk. I am thankful the guy crashed his truck someplace other than at your front door. I hope the people living down in the tunnels made out AOK in all that heavy rainfall.
I am returning to Shady's Place this coming Wednesday and hope you can join the fun. Until then, have a pleasant Sunday and great week ahead, dear friend Mary!
It was the first high speed chase I've seen on my street. I'll be visiting when you return.
Delete"buttload of cops" ... LOL. Seeing all the cars parked in the area where he landed on the curb, I'm amazed he didn't damage any.
ReplyDeleteSo am I.
DeleteGlad you made it home before getting soaked. It sounds like you’ve been venturing out more?
ReplyDeleteNo, same amount, just around my apartment complex.
DeleteYour poor courtyard
ReplyDeleteAfter the rain was gone, the water puddles went away.
DeleteGlad you got home.rain in Vegas ooff @theglobaldig.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWe don't get a lot of rain but when we do it is usually a storm.
DeleteThat was definitely too much excitement for one day! Glad you made it home before the rain too.
ReplyDeleteYes it was.
DeleteGlad they caught this guy. Also that you made it home before the down pour.
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteDang, I'm glad they got that crazy driving dude before someone got hurt!
ReplyDeleteI am too.
DeleteJeez oh! Not ideal. Crazy rain too! :-D
ReplyDeleteIt was wild to see it happening on my street .
DeleteIt seems crazy drivers are out in full force these days. I feel like they get worse as the holidays approach for some reason.
ReplyDeleteYeah they do.
DeleteYou've posted about a lot of wild things, but this is the first time I've read about a police chase.
ReplyDeleteIt's the first one on my street.
DeleteWow! I'm so glad that truck didn't hit anyone and that you were able to watch from a distance. It doesn't seem like a big enough road for such speeds.
ReplyDeleteHappy early Thanksgiving. I hope you and your family have a lovely holiday.
Thank you. I just don't understand why he turned around and came back down my street instead of going around the corner.
DeleteOh my goodness. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Mary.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBarely missed the rain. Your area floods like mine when it rains.
ReplyDeleteThe ground takes a while to soak up the rain.
DeleteWow, what a week! That high-speed chase sounds intense – glad you and Falcor weren’t in the way. The flooded courtyard looks messy, but at least the weather gave you a break before the downpour.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to have the clouds.
Deletewhat is up with the crazy drivers?? I cannot believe the amount of rain you had.
ReplyDeleteIt came down hard for a while.
DeleteBusiness as always
ReplyDeleteSeems that way.
DeleteThat's a lot of rain. We're expecting some, and then more snow!
ReplyDeleteSnow would be nice.
