Favorite Picture of the Week

While out walking with Falcor yesterday I noticed that the gate to the Freeway was unlocked and wide open.

The lock on the fence was gone. When I've said before that the freeway is literally right on the other side of the sound wall, I mean that quite literally. Yes, there's always a lot of trash around here.

There's the freeway.

I could  have walked right up to the freeway if I wanted to.

  1. So...we have a mystery on our hands. Who would the culprit be?

    1. No idea. But the homeless people do often use this dirt area next to the freeway for smoking dope and going to the bathroom.

  3. That would be a tragedy if any of you walking your dog had the leash get out of your hand. Oh my what if they went running up onto the freeway.

  4. Maybe somebody thought the lock was worth stealing. Or there are places in the big area of dirt beyond the gate where somebody could hide while doing drugs.

  8. Did they just break through to create a passage from one side of the freeway to the other? Really dangerous.

  11. We have such the Freeway too, however they are not free of charge. All vehicles who pass through the freeway must have ticket and pay some little entrance fees

    1. Some of the freeways in the US have toll booths on them and you have to pay a charge to cross them.

  13. That's concerning.

We get a lot of trash along our freeways, too, but I love that some of the court-appointed community service people have to do is clean it up once a month so its not as bad as it could be.

    1. The city workers come every few months to clean up here.

  19. That's scary. There's a parking lot for a shopping complex near me that only has some bushes between it and the Interstate. Big bushes, but some I know dog got out and through those bushes onto the highway. Not a happy ending.

  24. The wide-open gate to the freeway is obviously dangerous. Who would have opened it? A homeless person perhaps?

  25. Scary and dangerous. A lot of litter too. Sadly in Scotland littering is a huge problem :-( I really don't like it. Over here we don't have gates like this near freeways or motorways as we call them.

  27. Someone did that to a fence dividing the apartments from a highway here so they could jaywalk to the liquor store. They fixed it a few times, but ended up giving up because people just kept breaking it as soon as it was fixed.

    1. There was a fence put up in between the block wall to keep people from going that way to the liquor store here. Unfortunately the fence hasn't been broken down for that place.

  28. That's strange the lock was suddenly gone and a bit scary how close the freeway is then. I wonder how soon they will fix it.
