Review: Bengal's Quest by Lora Leigh (book 30)

Book Description

He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities—the last one being Gideon.

Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins.

Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him—Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him.

That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy.

And he’s on her scent…

My Review

I've been reading this series for years and each book has been so good but I always look forward to the next book in this series.

Graeme was made in a lab. He was tortured and had to watch and listen as others around him were also tortured as they were experimented on. He's a Breed, a Bengal shifter and is as lethal as any shifter has ever been. Cat saved Graeme years ago by giving him some of her blood. But when they both escaped, they didn't have much to do with each other until now because she was a child and his mate.

Cat was born human but turned into a Breed when she was a child to save her from an illness. She's been hiding from those who want to kill her. She's had to take on a persona that was not her own in order to keep herself hidden but that is coming to an end.

If you haven't been reading this series then reading this book would be very confusing because of the different souls that remember their past and the differing names of the same people. The Breeds see Graeme as a monster or boogeyman because of what he is and what he's capable of doing. It was interesting to finally see Cat and Graeme come together and all the secrets to out and there were quite a few.

I really like that this book tied together a lot of loose ends about Graeme and now I understand him more.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I went to take a picture of Falcor while we were out on a walk and right as I snapped the picture he did a little shake. So he looks goofy as hell.

Review: My Plan B by Shelley Munro

Book Description

Plan A sucks. Move over for plan B…

Sports commentator and reporter, Megan Saxon, has it all. The perfect career and freedom to do anything she wants, but as the years creep by she realizes love, or at least male companionship, has thumbed its nose at her. With the help of her agent-friend, she hatches Plan B. A brief love affair with a younger man will cure all ills and help her plan for the future.

The problem with plan B? Nothing, I repeat nothing, goes the way she plans, and she’s left gasping for breath, dodging reporters and suffering acute embarrassment.

The. Worst. Blushing. Epidemic. Ever.

Long-term widower and werewolf, Jacey Anderson, has moved to small country town Middlemarch to be near his grieving adult stepson, Henry, and to embrace the wide, open spaces with his wolf. He’s not expecting romance and especially with a public figure who attracts reporters like flies at a dung heap. His attraction to the sexy, sassy Megan has disaster written all over it, yet try telling that to his moonstruck wolf.

Yes, this Plan B has potential calamity for both parties. A pity that neither of them has a lick of good sense when they’re in the same room, touching… Kissing… Caressing…

Contains: werewolves, feline shifters, and creatures that howl at the night moon. There is also hot love, laughter and lots of teasing.

My Review

While Jacey, his son and friend are out for a run in their animal forms, they stumble across a woman taking pictures. She didn't spot them but she got pictures of them. They don't know how but they know they have to get to her phone and delete the pictures.

Megan gets sent to cover a piece in Middlemarch after getting replaced by a younger female in the space she had been reporting on. While there reporting on the Rugby teams, she meets Jacey and starts dating him not knowing he's a wolf shifter.

After getting caught in their animal forms and getting caught on Megan's phone in the form of pictures, Jacey and his son know they have to delete the pictures but they aren't sure how to go about it. While Jacey is in Megan's room he and his wolf both end up wanting her. So the next day when he spots her and they end up having coffee together, Jacey takes the opportunity to talk to her and get to know her a little better. Later he wins a date with her through a raffle, that's when things really heat up. These two are seriously attracted to each other but Megan has no idea this guy is a wolf shifter.

There was a huge twist towards the end of the book that I kinda saw coming but loved nonetheless. The secondary characters are just as great as Jacey and Megan and I really liked them. His whole family are a bunch of great people that made Megan feel at home, I really liked that about them.

I loved this book and think it added greatly to this series as a whole.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Apartment Life #31

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.

This week has been relatively quiet. This block wall is in my alley, I've showed it to you before. It separates my complex from the strip mall you can see through the wall on the other side. Over there is a K9 training center, Cal Ranch, liquor store, smoke shop and now a Mariana's Mexican supermarket.

The opening you see in this block wall has been there the entire 20 years we've been here and that's how people around here walk to these stores. It's the fastest route. Mariana's just opened last week and they hired someone to fill in this opening and the ones further down the wall, blocking access to the strip mall unless you walk all the way around the block. Everyone around here knew that someone would eventually knock down the wall they put up and 3 nights ago they did. I told Ken as soon as he told me they were out there filling in the wall that the people around here would not stand for this and a lot of others said the same thing because people were mad when this access way was closed off. I don't know if they'll try and fill this hole in the wall back in but if they do, it'll just get knocked down again.

On Thursday night my dog started barking because a couple of guys were running through our courtyard. Several minutes later the police helicopter was up shining their light on my street, Ken was looking out the bedroom window and they kept shining their bright light in our window but they left pretty quickly. Then a couple of hours later around 11pm, the police helicopter was shining their light in my courtyard and several police officers were standing in front of apartment #8. They stood out there for a couple of hours before Ken and I got too tired to wait and see what was going to happen. I don't know if they were waiting for a warrant or what. Friday morning I saw an envelope on their door. I still have no idea what that was about.

The saga continues...

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Freebie Friday!

Welcome to another edition of Freebie Friday, where I tell you what free samples and full sized products I received in the mail and how you can get them too. Someone asked me why I do a "Freebie Friday" each week, so I'll tell you.

A while back I listed all the free samples and wins that I had received that previous year and so many people didn't believe that I could have gotten so many free things. So I decided to prove it by taking a picture every week and sharing the sites that I found the links to the freebies at. So now you too can get great free samples coming to your mailbox each week.

You can find links to great samples at Hey It's Free and Freebie Shark.

This week I received:
The first picture was a PinchMe box. In it was...
Sweet and Spicy Skittles.
Whole Blends Shampoo and Conditioner.
Garnier Fructis Hair Mask.
A coupon for a free Slim Fast shake.

The second picture is a book I won in a blog contest over at The Reading Frenzy.

I love that Whole Blends shampoo and conditioner. I've received several samples and love them. My hubby and daughter tried those skittles and said they were really spicy, enough to burn their throat.

Did you receive any freebies this week?

Review: Kenya Calling by Tori Knightwood

Book Description

Tragedy made her a shifter hunter. He would die to protect his family’s secrets. When business brings them together in Africa, sparks and claws will fly.

Ryenne Cavanagh is a kick-ass shifter hunter in a world where most shifters are law-abiding, but rogues like to make trouble. Successful in a male-dominated field, Ryenne doesn't take shit from anyone. Especially not from shifters.

When a rich Kenyan businessman hires Ryenne to protect him and his entire village from a rogue leopard shifter, she soon finds herself the target of the most cunning rogue she's ever faced. Worse still, her new client forces her into competition against a sexy French shifter hunter with a dangerous secret. She needs to solve the case first or lose her fee. Despite their rivalry, the French hottie is breaking down the protective walls built around her heart since she lost her brother and father.

Will she uncover the identity of the rogue first or lose her heart along with her fee? More importantly, will she bring the rogue to justice before she becomes his next victim?

The Shifter Hunters Ltd. trilogy is filled with action, adventure, and steamy love scenes. It is intended for readers aged 18 and up. Kenya Calling does NOT end with a cliffhanger but is only the first part of the story.

My Review

This book is a novella, the print length being 147 pages. So if you're in the mood for a quick read this is a good pick. This is book 1 in a 3 book series.

It's Ryenne's job to track down and stop rogue shifters and stop them before they kill innocent humans or turn them into shifters. Ryenne and her partner get hired by a businessman in Africa who gives them half their fee to find the rogue shifter that he thinks wants him dead. Ryenne is the one to travel to Africa and deal with the rogue shifter but he or she is harder to find than Ryenne first thought they would be.

Along with Ryenne and her partner being hired, the businessman also hired another hunter and whoever finds the rogue shifter will get the second half of the payment. Of course she's not happy about this little twist of plans but she agree's because she thinks she can find the shifter before the other guy does.

Lucian is the other hunter that is hired and even as he's there to do a job, he finds himself attracted to Ryenne. He has a few secrets that are shocking to Ryenne when they come to light but she still has the hots for him.

There is a slow building romance. I call it slow building even though they jump each other's bones pretty quick but they don't really know much about each other. But as Ryenne and Lucian get to know one another and find out who the rogue is, they face a lot of danger and it brings them closer together.

I loved the twist that came towards the end of this book. I kinda saw it coming but it was still a good one and just when I thought I had this story figured out, another twist is thrown at us and it's a good one!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Favorite Picture of the Week

My brother and his wife bought a house in Northern Nevada and when they started hiking around their property my brother spotted a few interesting rocks and brought them to me because he knows how much I like this kind of thing. Top left is Mica, top right is quartz, bottom left I'm not really sure what that blue stone is yet (if you do, let me know) and bottom right is quartz.

And then my brother gave me this big rock with a bunch of quartz in it. It's hard to get a good picture to show you just how many quartz crystals are in this but it's a bunch.

There are a couple of big quartz crystals and many smaller ones. I added them to my collection of interesting rocks.

Review: When An Alpha Purrs by Eve Langlais

Book Description

A lion’s pride isn’t defined only by those he commands but also resides with his hair, so when a human dares to butcher Arik’s mane, he gets his revenge—and claims her as his mate.

A billionaire CEO and leader of the largest East Coast pride, Arik is a ladies man and a lion. Used to commanding others, and obedience, he can’t believe it when a hairdresser with tempting curves chops off a hunk of his precious mane.

But her biggest mistake is in running from him.

Run as fast as you can, little mouse, because this cat loves to chase—and pounce.

Oh, and he also likes to nibble on tender bits. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for a human woman, a woman who can make the impossible happen because everyone knows lions can’t purr…until now.

My Review

Arik goes to his usual barber for a trim, only to find out the man isn't there. That's when he starts talking with the barber's granddaughter and the sparks start flying. These two start trading sarcastic remarks and everything is fun and games until Kira chops off a part of Arik's hair. He's a bit vain about his hair (mane) because he's a lion shifter and his mane is a part of him. It's only after his friends make fun of him that he goes after Kira to make her pay for what she's done.

Kira has a past that she's running from, an abusive ex boyfriend. When the ex finds her and leaves her a message, she figures she's gonna have to pack up and move on again. That is until Arik finds out about the trouble she's having and takes it upon himself to protect her.

These two got along like oil and water right from the very beginning. I love how they are so sarcastic and funny with one another. Their conversations has me laughing too many times throughout this book. This author does know how to insert humor into her books and Kira's smart mouth, sarcastic quips and comebacks really had me smiling.

It's fun watching a character in a shifter book find out about shifters because you never know how they're gonna react. There was a great twist in this book about Kira's ex and I do love a good twist. The ex is creepy as hell and his story line in regards to Kira was great. Having an ex stalk you across the country and find you isn't going to be pleasant but this guy took things to another level of sleezy.

I loved Arik. He's smooth, funny, arrogant and so alpha. But he has a big heart and when he realizes that Kira was in trouble, nothing was going to prevent him from helping her. I really liked that about him. The other character I liked was Arik's mother. She's a total bitch to Kira but I understood why and I think she's gonna be a real interesting character in this series. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series now.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

So it's official, my camera takes shitty pictures at night. But if you click on the pictures you should be able to make out the police cars in these two pictures.

So a couple of weeks ago the police showed up at 10pm. Ken is always looking out the bedroom window to see if anything is going on, on our street and so many times there is. At least this time it was for the apartment complex across the street and not my complex.

Turns out that two people got into a fight and the female started throwing furniture outside in the courtyard. Then she started throwing her boyfriends clothes and electronics outside and when she broke something (I don't know what) he got really mad and broke out the two living room windows. Someone called the police, no one was taken to jail but we saw the male get into a car when someone came to pick him up and he took several large trash bags filled with his belongings with him.

We found all this out because the neighbors love to talk and two of them came across the street where we were standing and told us what they saw.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Nothing, nada, zip, zilch

It was a very slow freebie week for me. I signed up for a few but most free samples take 6-8 weeks to receive them so no freebies this week.

But my daughter went to a park near where she works and took a couple of pictures that I really liked. So I'll share them with you.

Ducks!

There were a lot of ducks at this park.

13 Years Blogging

It's my blogoversary!

It's hard to believe that 13 years ago I began blogging. It was quite sporadic at first and I had no idea what to write about. I still pretty much write about whatever I want most days and I'm glad that so many of you seem to enjoy my blog posts.

When I first started we had been given a computer because Ken's sister was getting a new one. This was our very first computer and we had no idea what we were doing. She had left a few things on it and told Ken he could just delete whatever he didn't want. Well, he had no idea what he was doing and ended up deleting the Windows OS and we had to call Ken's brother and he sent us a disc to install that gave us a new Windows OS.

We also didn't know you're supposed to have anti virus protection or that you should clear your history and cache every once in a while. We went well over a year without either of those things and wondered how in the world we had so many viruses and things that were slowing the computer down to a crawl until one of our teenage daughter's friends came over and explained it to us. It was pretty comical but live and learn and now we know. Because of all the computer problems back then I would use the library computers but you could only use them for 1 hour per day. So I wasn't posting all that often for a while. And I only had 3 followers when I started out so when I started getting more followers and people commenting, I really enjoyed that.

I've changed a lot in the past 13 years. My daughter is grown and she has a son. Ken and I are celebrating 27 years together this September and now instead of hamsters and rats we have a dog.

So for all of you followers that have been here a long time and for those of you that are fairly new I just want to say thank you for visiting, commenting and enjoying what I've been posting over the years. I hope we'll all be around and blogging for many years to come.

Favorite Picture of the Week

A couple of weeks ago my brother found this bull snake on the ATV his son and grandson were on. Thankfully it's a harmless bull snake but it scared the bejuju's outta them. They just moved to the middle of the desert in Northern Nevada and there seems to be a lot of snakes around there. He let the snake go after getting a picture of it.

Review: Walmart Beauty Box- May

The Walmart Beauty box is a subscription box that comes out 4 times a year. You sign up for it and it comes automatically every 3 months. These boxes are just $5 each and shipping is free.

There were quite a few samples in this box.

Here's what was in this month's Walmart Beauty Box

Jergen's Wet Skin Moisturizer
Pantene Foam Conditioner
Hello Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
Dove Exfoliating Body Polish
Aveeno Yogurt Body Wash
Donkey Milk Skin Gel Facial Mask

That's quite a few samples for just $5. I'm very happy with this box and so far I've liked everything that I've tried. I think this box was well worth the $5 I spent on it. I love getting all these sample size bottles of products that I can try before I buy a full size bottle. If you haven't signed up for the Walmart Beauty Box yet and you like what you see in this box, sign up.

And if you have or are expecting a baby, Walmart now has a Baby Box that you can sign up for.

I was happy to see the Jergen's Wet Skin Moisturizer and the Pantene Conditioner because I've tried both of these things before and really liked them. I will say that the Pantene Conditioner really doesn't work any better than the conditioner that comes in a bottle though. And the Dove body polish smells so darn good. I love seeing samples of that in these boxes.

I'm not sure about the activated charcoal toothpaste. I really don't think it works as well as the Crest Pro Health HD 2 step toothpaste that I've been using for a couple of years. I think I'll stick with that toothpaste.

The sheet masks just crack me up though. They seem to be all the rage right now and I don't see that they moisturize any better than applying a little moisturizer to your face from a bottle and the masks make my dog bark at me so there's that. *giggle/snort*

Do you have a favorite subscription box?

Back in February of 2016 these two guys across the street from me put on boxing gloves and started duking it out right in the middle of the street.

They hit each other a few times and then called it quits. I guess they got tired. I thought this picture was funny because the look on that guys face says, "Oh shit, he's gonna hit me!" lol

The bald guy always thought he was a badass around here. He was a security guard somewhere and always wore his gun on his belt. This is an open carry state so he was allowed to do that but with the police being in this area so often, I always thought he was just asking for trouble doing that.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

The lipstick sample if a cute color so I liked that. I've now tied several derma e products and they are good moisturizers but I can't tell that they do anything else. My dog has had this dog food before and he likes it.

Did you receive any samples this week?

Review: Wild Hunger by Suzanne Wright (Book 7)

Book Description

When half–wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother…and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she catches the scent of an old friend—warmly familiar and intoxicating.

Trick Hardy, enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care—no matter how fierce his surging desires.

As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past—not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.

My Review

I should start by saying that I haven't read this series in order. I've only read 2 of the other books in this series but I didn't feel that I was missing much or lost while reading this book.

Frankie makes a living making sculptures that sometimes were of a dark or spooky nature. Frankie is half shifter but was raised by her human family after she was traumatized as a child and taken away from the pack by her human side of the family. She knew she was part shifter but she didn't know anything of the pack her father had belonged to because her grandparents who raised her told her lies her entire life. Frankie only finds out about the pack she belongs to when her aunt reaches out to her.

Trick is part of her aunt's pack so Trick goes with Frankie's aunt to meet her for the first time in 24 years. It's at this meeting that he realizes that Frankie is his mate. After Frankie comes to his pack's home to meet her grandmother and other family members, he's already trying to get closer to her. Trick wasn't satisfied to let her make her mind up about him on her own terms, he went to her on several occasions after she met her grandmother and the other family members so they could get to know each other.

While Frankie is getting to know her dad's side of the family, her mom's parents who raised her are constantly trying to get her to leave the pack in the past. Her uncle is very mad that she's decided to get to know the wolf side of her family as he sees them as a bunch of animals. The uncle is a total ass and I really didn't like him at all.

There's also a side story of a pack of wolves that wants an alliance with Trick's alpha, Trey. But this other pack and its leader are a bunch thugs for the most part and Trey wants no part of an alliance with them but their alpha won't take no for an answer.

Frankie is getting to know her new family members but she thinks that she saw something bad when she was three years old and just can't remember what it was. I thought I knew where this story line was going but I was wrong. There's a big reveal, a nice twist that I didn't see coming and family secrets come to light. I really like it when I think I know where a story is going and am totally wrong and a great twist is thrown my way.

I really didn't care for Frankie's maternal grandparents. They have a lot of money and kept her away from her father's side of the family because of something terrible that happened even though they knew that Frankie was half wolf shifter and as a kid was scared of shifting for the first time. She grew up without a pack or other shifters in her life because of them and I really despised them for that.

Trick and Frankie are great together and I like how these shifters just know when they find their true mates and how the bond lets them get really close.

While I haven't read all the books in this series, I didn't need to in order to enjoy this book. This series is really good and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Disclosure: I received a free copy via NetGalley, I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review: Wolf of Her Own by N.J. Walters

Book Description

Mikhail Matheson came to Salvation for his sister, but he stayed for Elise LaForge. She’s the alpha’s mother and the most fascinating woman he’s ever laid his eyes on. He’s wanted her from the first moment he saw her. He may feel like an outsider in the pack, but there’s no way he can leave when he’s sure Elise is his mate.

Elise’s made a home in North Carolina with her adult sons and their pack. It’s taken her a long time to get over the years she spent with her abusive mate, and while she’s content now, she can’t help but feel there’s something missing in her life. Mikhail stirs emotions in her she never expected to feel, and the attraction between them is off the charts. But Elise’s not sure how her sons and the pack will react, not to mention the danger the pack is facing.

My Review

Mikhail might have come to the Salvation pack for his sister but as soon as he finds Elise, he knows he can't leave.

Elise has a lot of baggage because of the years she spent with her abusive ex. She might be cautious when Mikhail is around but she feels something for him and that in itself is a small miracle since she wasn't sure she was healed enough emotionally to take another chance on a relationship.

Mikhail is very patient with Elise and I really liked that about him. He's pretty sure that Elise is his mate but he knows he's gonna have to take his time with her and her family if this is gonna work out. Neither of them are sure how her two sons are going to react to them seeing each other especially since one of her sons is the pack's alpha. I ended up really liking her sons.

When the father of one of the females in the pack wants to come and visit his daughter that he hasn't seen in a long time, they are all on edge but what happens while he is there is not something that any of them could see coming.

Elise is stronger than she thinks and I really admired her for being able to move past what she's been through and find happiness again. But Mikhail is everything that any woman could ask for. He's patient, romantic, totally alpha and nurturing. He's exactly what she needed in her life.

I really liked Elise's grown sons even if they were a little over protective, they meant well and love their mom a lot.

This is one of those books that I wish I could just say something like, "It's great! You need to read it!" And everyone would read it and see what I mean. I read this book in one sitting because it was just that hard to put down once I started reading. I felt invested in the characters to see what would happen next and I was very happy with the ending. It ended exactly how it should have. I'll definitely be reading more of this series and highly recommend this book and series.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Disclosure: I received this book for free via NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

Review: Banana Boat Dry Balance Sunscreen Lotion

This year I knew that I was going to have to get a sunscreen for my face or a foundation that had sunscreen in it. Since I haven't found a foundation with sunscreen that I like, I started trying samples of the different sunscreens that are out there. Most of them are really scented or very oily so when I received a sample of this in the mail I was hopeful since it said, "Helps you feel dry & fresh".

I've now been wearing this sunscreen on my face under my foundation, powder,  ect and it really does stay dry. After rubbing it in, it has a matte finish that doesn't become oily later and the scent is very subtle, kind of like a baby powder type scent, which I like. It also has a SPF 30 so hopefully that will help prevent the weird sunburn I get around the sunglasses I wear outside when walking the dog. My nose and temple area got toasty brown last year by the time summer ended which looked weird when the rest of my face was still very pale. So I'm hoping to keep that from happening this summer and so far so good. It's been well into the 90's and 100's here recently and so far my nose and the rest of my face hasn't started to sunburn or tan.

So I am going to give this product a thumbs up at this point because it sure does seem to be working the way I want.

Apartment Life #28

This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 20 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 20 years here in a weekly blog post.

Back in 2014 we had a neighbor who would call the police on himself all the time. I had called the police 2 nights prior to this incident because he started screaming and yelling at no one because no one was around...but he claimed that the managers son had threatened his life and he wanted a restraining order. So this guys calls the police, I know this because he was outside while he was screaming at dispatch on his phone. No one went to jail because the incident never happened. This guy has brain damage from an accident and his mother pays for all his bills but in the mean time he drove us all crazy and because of the way he acted all the time the manager finally evicted him. He lived 2 doors from me so we got front row seats to the insanity.

Update for this week:

3 days ago a neighbor asked the manager and maintenance man to do a welfare check on an elderly neighbor because no one had seen him for 2 days. The manager didn't want to so the neighbor called police and asked them to do a welfare check on the guy. They came at 10pm and since the manager wouldn't answer the emergency phone or her door, they kicked the door in and found the elderly man had died in his bed. Police and the coroner were in the apartment for hours and we went to bed. The next day Ken was talking to the maintenance guy and said the manager called the man's son who lives in another state and his son said he wanted nothing from the apartment so the manager and maintenance guy went through the apartment and took what they wanted before trashing the apartment out. The comical thing was that people from that courtyard were standing around outside while they were taking things out of the apartment and the maintenance guy said a couple of people asked about certain things the guy had and if they could have it if no one else wanted it but the maintenance guy told them everything was going in the trash and if they wanted to pick through the trash they could but no one was being allowed in the apartment. That sure got the gossip flying around the apartment complex.

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.
